Used 2000 Ford Ranger Extended Cab Consumer Reviews
4.0 XLT Off-Road! Everything you'll want
I have had no trouble with my 4.0 XLT Off-Road 4X4. The 5 speed Automatic transmission is shifts at just the right times and the 4.0Ltr engine has more than enough power. Highway and off-road performance is outstanding. Fit and finish is all so very good. I drove them all before I bought this one. I made the right choice.
2000 Ranger
Truck has performed pretty well overall- -the interior and exterior have held up well. It could be a little more responsive while merging--even with the V6 pickup is a bit sluggish.
i this truck
I this truck. it has no power, you have to push down the accelerator as far as it will go just to do 45 up a small hill. it's fun todrive and reliable but dodge dakotas are SO much better in every area.
Last Ranger
Purchased USED,had 25000 on odometer. Enemic engine to say the least. Screams on the interstate, with a moderate load I'm being passed by 18 wheelers, with my foot mashed to the firewall. I always thought Ford made the Ranger but I'm now convinced Mazda makes it. One can not compare it to the Chevie S-10, I've owned three S-10 and this is my First and Last Ranger. The Chevie V-6 is twice the engine the Ranger has... As for creature comforts, Ford should borrow an S-10 and maybe copy half their interior design, starting with ease of getting into the back of the extended cab.Do yourself a favor, Drive an S-10 then the Ranger, you won't go Ford, I promise you.
Get'n around
Since purchasing my Ranger used, with only 27k miles, I have been very pleased. The basic transportation and ability to haul bulky items is a plus. I am 6ft.5ins., 255lbs; and find I have plenty of head and leg room. I find the truck fun to drive; my dog loves it!
