Used 2018 Ford Focus Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Second one
After only 3 years, 44k miles, I already had my transmission go out. All the Ford dealers could not get to fix my car until 90 days. I had no choice but to trade in my junk car for a Toyota corolla. I'm not a big fan of Toyota, however, at least now I know I'll have a reliable car! I will never buy a Ford again! Two cars in a row the same problem. Both at the 44k mark.

Unreliable
I got a brand new focus hatchback 2018, about a year after the transmission failed 3 times and almost killed me on the highway. I regret getting a Ford.

Transmission issue, no recall! Beware
What kind of company leaves a 19 year old driving a car with a known transmission shudder issue, that is under warranty I might add, Ford that’s who. “American” made cars are just not worth it anymore and the makers do not stand behind their brand as they should. 😡 Note to anyone with a Focus, beware of the transmission! It’s a known issue by Ford yet they won’t repair or replace until you have a problem therefore if you get beyond that warranty guess what, you’re up the creek.

Sporty, fun to drive
The SEL hatchback is the way to go. I got mine new with a handful of miles on it. It handles well, has enough power to pass cars on the highway and it looks great doing it. The touchscreen is great although I did have to replace mine within a few months. It was a faulty unit, covered by my warranty. It's low maintenance, comfortable, and a great daily driver.
