2012 Ford Focus SEL
I bought this car for my 18 year old daughter to take to college. It had 42,000 when purchased. She has driven it 6,000 miles so far and is very happy with the car. The car has the peculiar shifting issues due to the automatic/manual transmission, but does not have any oil leaks or other problems that have been mentioned in previous reviews. I just went to visit a college with her that was 700 mile trip and car got 34 mpg. I'm very happy with that as her previous vehicle best was 24 mpg. The passenger seat was rather uncomfortable for me but I'm an old man. The stereo/sound system (sync) seemed me to sound very good. The back shelf has dry rotted around vent holes as others said. Mom has now taken over this car for her 40 mile commute (Interstate) car is getting 35 mpg. Not a dime spent on anything except routine maintenance. Car has 120,000 miles. Car has started some strange electrical issues. Sometimes loud static will come from the radio system for no reason at start up. Issue has happened twice but goes away on its own. No problems otherwise. Looking to buy another on for Dads commute.

Wish I still had my ACURA RSX
This car has a real nice interior and the exterior is really good looking but that is it, the car has pits in the roof from the plant where it was manufactured, at 1350 miles the screen for the MY FORD TOUCH went black which means I don't have a radio, navigation, etc., there is also a rattle in the door panel, and the fan for the heat an ac goes up and down in speeds which is really annoying all this in a month of ownership and a $28,000 price tag, honestly don't buy this car unless you get a deal of a lifetime. I WISH I HAD MY 2002 ACURA RSX and not this piece of junk.

Very Nice, Not Quite Perfect
Not like any Focus I've ever been in before. Outstanding quality of materials throughout. Looks and feels equivalent to a Mercedes -- no joke. Feels "big", solid, and quiet while you drive, but has speedy performance when you want it.
Don't buy
We bought the car, it looked great. Soon the transmission started giving us problems, couldn't find a gear, shook like a motor mount had broken off, loud noises, etc... Had it to the dealer many times. They fixed it somewhat, not completely. It seems every 5-10k miles we bring it back. We're in a lawsuit now with ford. I'm trying to get them to take the car back. We have an appointment next week to bring the car in for the same repair. Don't buy this car.
Do not recommend
Bought this car brand new back in 2011, I have had issues ever since. Taken to the dealership several times to be fixed and they never get fixed. Mainly transmission and the my ford touch technology. Just terrible.
