Frame starts to rott between gas tank and inner frame rail rotts bad. . At 190,000 miles the four wheel drive hubs shot won't engage. . Front struts shot. Rear shocks go bad. Transmission slips . Rear tire holder rotts out. Then fuel module goes bad.if you have a snow plow system on it don't even wast your money buying one. At 190,000 miles dings n dents frame rott. It's worn out. 4.6 V8 engines are gas guzzlers. Rather have a 5.4 V8 rather then have a 4.6 V8 u can't pull a pop up camper . No power in a 4.6v8 . Then spark plugs blow in cylinder 6 an 8 . Oil leaks from the rear main seal . Alot people hide frame rott by using foam or Bondo u got be careful when u go to purchase one these trucks take a hammer pound on both sides of frame rails if u see paint chips fall off more in likely you will see somebody put foam in the cracks cover up frame damage. I been seeing lots an lots trucks 08 f150 extended cab stx 4.6 V8 4x4 iv seen people try cover it up to sell their hunk of junk to somebody else. They ask high price. These trucks are junk. At 190,000 miles. Their rust buckets. If their is accident reports. If front bumper is missing. More in likely it's been in front end collision if snow plow is bent. No bumper don't buy it. I made mistake buying few these trucks. In the past I don't recommend spending 5,000 on nothing that has check engine light on. And four wheel drive don't work. Frame rott. Anything dings dents missing bumper or accident reports or inspect it real good before wasting ur money buying junk. These are junk at 190,000 miles their not worth 1,500 to 5,000

Greatest Truck I've owned! 2008 F150 Super Crew

5.4 liter, 3 valve Triton engine. 368,000 miles before any major engine work was needed, (Cam phasers replaced) Tranny has never been touched! Mostly highway miles, regular maintenance I think is the key, save and except for the transmission which I am afraid to have serviced now. Marvel Mystery Oil added to fuel and oil may have a lot to do with it too. I have owned several trucks over the years from a 1950 Chevy 3100 to this F150 and this Ford is 5 star hands down! 17 years old and runs and drives like a champ. Ford tough!

I've had this F-150 XL with the 5.4l engine for almost 6 months now and it has once again proved itself. I'm a general contractor for a concrete company in north Texas and I do a lot of driving. This truck gets the crap beat out of it and it just keeps asking for more. So Ford keep up the good work. I can't wait to see your 09 F- 150

Most Reliable 1/2 ton V8 out there

Very pleased with my F-150 FX4 Crew Cab. The dealer was great to work with and provided a great deal in addition to Ford's great rebates. I picked the F-150 in part because Consumer Reports rates the F-150 with V8 engine as number one of all the 1/2 ton trucks with V8 for reliability. (with the V6, Toyota edges out Ford for number 1 and Ford number 2)

Well my first truck was a 2008 Toyota Tundra with the 5.7 liter, 381hp, I traded the Tundra in for a 2008 FX2 F- 150 SuperCab 4.6liter, the Ford by far in my oppinion is the better truck, I love the smooth quiet ride, steering, the leather captains chair, Ford has been making trucks a lot longer than Toyota, Ford knows how to build a reliable truck, I paid $24,000.00 for a truck that MSRP at $34,500 and it is loaded, Thank God for Ford. Long live Ford trucks. God bless America!
