Used 2004 Ford Expedition Consumer Reviews
Martinfan's Expedition reveiw
Great full size SUV. Handles very well and ride is quiet on most roads.
to many repairs
Just like all expeditions, the brakes last no more than 23,000. Ford denies it, but they used the explorer brakes on the expedition, and they are to small for this larger vehicle. We had to replace the starter, after being stranded several times, when it would not start when warm. Face it, Toyota you will never be!

What happened?
The first week was great. After that things deteriorated. In the second week and only a few hundred miles, the AC would grind when put on and vehicle would dive and lose power. The tailgate started chattering while driving. The auto locking doors stopped working when placed in drive. The belts starting squealing. I have had two belts replaced along with the pulleyes and tensioners. Also there was a loose bolt in the rear passenger door, and a 3 inch seat securing bolt loose rolling arounfd the interior! All of this in three months of ownership, bought new. Only 3500 miles and the problems still mount. Never will own again!
The Behemouth
This is by far one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. It has excellent handling for a large SUV and great responsiveness. Most of the features are self explanatory and in the appropriate spots for easy access. There is lots of room for storage in the glove box & the center console. We recently took a trip and after 11 hrs on the road, we were still up for going to the park. No more road fatigue from long trips. My family will have to yell at me from now on as the sound system is awesome!
