Used 2003 Ford Expedition Consumer Reviews
PIECE OF JUNK
THIS VEHICLE HANDLES LIKE A WAGON. I'VE HAD IT FOR A VERY SHORT TIME BUT I AM TRADING IT FOR ANOTHER TAHOE
Safest Full Size Sport Utility
Previously had a 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer, until I was hit by an uninsured driver. I was forced off the road and crashed into a concrete overpass at an estimated 67 MPH. The highway patrol officer said that if I had been driving a Camry or Accord, the accident would have been fatal. I truly believe that the truck saved my life. If you're looking for a SAFE vehicle, look no further. With the SafetyCanopy side curtain airbag system and the Personal Safety System, you can't go wrong!
Love It!
Our previous SUV was a '97 Tahoe LT. We test drove the '03 Tahoe and Suburban. 5 years ago the EXPY didn't hold a candle to the Tahoe, now its the other way around. The comfort of the interior and design engineering of the EXPY are GREAT! I thought the interior of the Tahoe was pretty confining and "cheesy".
Eddie Bauer 4X2
Prior to buying this vehicle we explored all other competition. It wasn't even close. We have a family of five and tow a 23ft boat. This vehicle is well built, roomy, quiet and handles better than any vehicle this size. Many others complain about the mileage, however, by avoiding jack rabbit starts we average 16/17 in mixed driving with the 5.4 engine.
Excellent redesign
As close you are going to get to a luxury sedan ride in an SUV. The independant rear suspension really helps the handling and ride along with allowing them to come up with best designed third row seat in any SUV. I owned a Durango previously and once my son grew over 4.5 feet he outgrew "his" 3rd row, which was an innovation at that time. After the first year Ford should put some more thought into the interior features. Have not tested the off road performance...yet.
