I have only had this car for 1 week. So far, I'm loving it. I bought my car at Sarasota Ford. Steve Oliver was the Sales Associate. He was great in every way. Help me make a decision between two cars. Was happy for his assistance.

Me and My Escape - New to me

The car operates well. The only problem so far is the exterior noise when sitting next to the windows. Suspect better seals would minimize this road noise effect. Have had for only two weeks but really like the car.

2014 ford escape SE

Bought 2014 SE model two months ago after testing 2014 Mazda CX 5 and 2013 Toyota Rav 4 as contenders. Although it was a difficult decision we decided with the escape after receiving several thousand off and more options then the other two. I have the 1.6 liter engine and has been great accelerating then expected from expert reviews. Although common by many other consumers reviews from the 2013 it has not yet unfortunately lived up to EPA estimates of 22/30 MPG. Highest has been 25.2 on highway after only 900 miles though. We shall see if break in period makes a difference soon enough. As for the talked about My Ford Touch, well I couldn't be any happier! Escape is quiet and handles great. March 9,2016 update: everything that was said 2.5 years ago is the same today with no complaints ! Now with 39,000 miles. Absolutely love the intergrated back up camera with guided lines that turn when you turn making backing up in to parking space and driveway very easy. No repairs!

this car rides well, is quiet, is peppy with the turbo, and is fun to drive. We traded a Honda CRV for this...just kept that one for a year. So glad we did. We have had the car for 4 years, and it has been basically trouble free...just an overflow hose replacement required. This car is underrated. Ours has averaged 26.8 miles per gallon over and over again, combining highway and local driving over 60,000 miles. We have always adhered to Ford's maintenance schedule, and found the car to be a pleasure to drive and own. Now we are looking to replace it with one incorporating the new camera based safety features which were not available in 2014.

Car (& driver :-)) aged OK

105K highway/local driving in mt. West. Overall satisfied. Car's aged OK, BUT $3k extended warranty pd for itself TWICE. "Build quality" NOT great, especially engine/drivetrain electronics. 2.0L Turbo performance is OUTSTANDING, best Class, no question. For all their "fixes," Ford Sync still has problems, especially Sync "auto" (HAH!) updates, + having to pay Ford's 3rd party vendor $150/yr(!) for Nav. map updates is ridiculous, especially in age of Google Map! ALSO: Even though rated to pull 3500#, DON'T; & not more than maybe 2500# on long uphill grades. Best in class HP/Torque, BUT digital-only Eng. Temp gauge measuring eng. "Head" -- NOT, coolant -- temp, AND NOT gradually is idiotic & potentially dangerous! NO way to keep accurate eye on coolant temp until gauge JUMPS fm Normal to Hot, WITH computer rolling back RPM & "Overheat" warning to prevent eng. damage Alarm. NOT OK, especially when lower RPM drastically slows vehicle -- AND, of course, all following traffic -- on long &/or steep uphills w/ no passing lane! :( Overall a good, long-term buy, BUT DON'T go beyond factory "bumper-bumper" Warranty w/o extending it! And/or go only for "Certified Pre-Owned (CPO)" used.
