I purchased my 1998 Crown Victoria from my company's fleet dept. The headliner needed repair, I put 4 new Michelins on it, 4 new shocks and replaced the seal in the rear diff. After a couple of fuel treatments, it was ready to go and started with 150,000 miles on it. The mpg on the highway was 24 mpg and city was 22.4 mpg! I use regular gas, drive pretty consistently and a lot of it on the highway. Most of the reviews say highway is about 18 but I have measured every tank and I am getting just under 25 miles per gallon highway. The car is quiet, responsive and has a clean car fax. The engine is strong and I oil changes every 3k miles but 6k miles on my Toyota.I will buy a new Vic from Ford.

Jussied Up Mule

What you have here is a mule dressed up in cheaply made finery trying to impress the best. The car is a roving showpiece of mediocrity, poor build quality, and bad ergonomics. Annoying rattles, poor seat support, inadequate climate controls--car windows fogged frequently. If your desire is to drive a taxi, buy one. It's about all it's good for.

Not What It Used To Be

Ford's Crown Victoria is a far cry from it's predecessors of the 70's when it was known as LTD. Today's Crown Vic is cheap in every way. No longer a class act. Being a true full-size car is all it has going for it. Ford needs to put this one out to pasture.

'98 Crown Vic is the best Vic for performance yet.The rear supspension is terrific on mountain curves and in quick city corners ,especially at high speed..much more so than my previous '95 vic. Mine has the perfornace and handling package wich provides the extra HP, and handling to truly enjoy this car.Up to 70MPH car is outstanding- - from there to 100MPH is when performance stands out , not down and no let down untill you do!!

98 crown vic police intercepter very nice car but there is a flow with the intake which is plastic and leaks around thermo housing. ford replaces free under recall. i have a noisy squeel under braking, new rotors and pads wont fix the noise. it comes back and mechanics are dumbfumded about it. other than that is good car.
