I'll never sell it
I checked out Ford and Chevy, then drove this truck. Bought it on the spot, didn't even haggle over the price. I love this truck and will never sell it. The power, the styling, the reliability, the value! I get better mileage with this diesel than I got with my Chevy Blazer. I tow a 25' 8000lb travel trailer and don't even know it's there. I can set the cruise at 70mph and climbs hills while towing without slowing. Dodge got it right!
This Monster Is a Blast!
I bought my Dodge 2500 SLT 4x4 Crew Cab and was immediately impressed with the overall appearance compared to previous Dodge models. The ride is stiff as could be expected from a truck this size. Although the power is impressive from the Hemi, the handling is not as good as you might expect. I've noticed that the trucks body is higher (hood) then equivilent Fords and Chevy's I have compared it to. Get ready spend some money at the pump after purchasing this pig! Average fuel consumption is between 13-14 mpg. Overall, I really like it, and I cannot imagine myself in anything else on the market right now.
Hard rider
Truck is a diesel, runs well, but has a horrible ride. This is normal for this type of truck. I bought it for hauling my travel trailer and it does a good job there, but otherwise its a beast to park to say the least. Interior is plastic. Seats are not coushioned as wellas they should be. Rear seating is ok for kids, but folds down for extra storage, a plus.Truck has nice lines.
Cost of Horsepower
Had always driven GM vehicles but cost and warranty made Dodge a viable alternative. I have been very pleased and can't imagine going back to a GM product. GM and Ford will have to get in line with warranties and pricing to better compete.
It's all good...but mileage
This is a great truck in many important ways. Very good build quality, great looks, and excellent power. The dash setup is fairly simple, but well laid out. The interior storage options and load flat steel floor are very creative and definitely usable. There is a price to pay in mileage, however. With the Hemi you can expect 8.5 mpg in the city and just over 15 mpg during pure cruise control highway. These are real numbers. There is a reason they don't print the mileage on the window stickers of these trucks. Nonetheless, I'd still buy it again...
A Real Man's Truck
This is my first new pickup truck and I'm never going back to a car. Traded a 2001 Lincoln Continental because we needed something to two our boat and I had a used Dodge pickup before. The build quality has improved on this Chrysler product so much so that I can't find the words adequate to describe it. Everything fits. Corners fit. Moldings are straight. You can sure tell the Mercedes influence in these vehicles. Most comfortable seats I've ever driven with on long distance trips. Not even a hint of a rattle or problem. If you test drive one of these you'd better be prepared to buy because you WILL want to. Solid, Solid, Solid.
Large Sportscar With An 8ft. Bed
I have only had my truck for a month and I have one thing to say,"WOW!!!". I have had Chevy's and Ford's(Ford's being my favorite), but this "HEMI" has got them all whipped. Pulling a heavy trailer, passing, pulling a steep hill, or getting to where your going quick is nothing to this truck. If anyone wants a real truck, this is it!!!
my review
The truck has a ton of power and has got to be the best looking truck out there. The only thing the truck needs is a five speed automatic tranny.
The Big Red Ram
I love this thing. The style rocks. The Hemi power, handling, visability, the gizmos I get to play with included in the Laramie package. Sirius radio. The amount of storage places in this thing is great! It tows a 6000lb trailer with no problems!
Very nice truck, but with annoying flaws
This truck looks and sounds mean. It's my third Dodge. The Hemi is throaty and torquey, but is not all it's cracked up to be speed-wise with the weight of the 2500. I bought it used and have gone 3k trouble-free miles, except for a replaced leaky steering box (under warranty). It's very comfortable and has great visibility. The 4WD works great. However, I have a rattling window, a chirping (ocassionally) blower fan and a squeaky hood that needs lubrication every few days. Much of Chrysler interior plastic is chintzy. The cloth seat material is "fuzzy" and catches all sorts of debris and is tough to clean. Although the cruise controls are on the wheel where I like them, they are tough to get at. Jumpy throttle from a stop.
2003 2500 Hemi/Manual 5 speed/4X4
With 3000 miles everything is perfect, except for some minor vibration at 65- 75 mph. Dodge is reportedly working on this. Power is EXCELLENT. Fuel Economy is 10.9-11.5 (4.10 axles) city or highway. "A" pillar blind spot is pretty big. The truck is very comfortable, rides very well and handles great. I live in CA and special ordered my truck from a really good dealer, Mark Roberts Motors (www.markroberts.com)in Bartlesville, OK. I paid about $750 UNDER INVOICE minus the $2000 Dodge rebate.
Computer Woe's
It's been a great truck except for a check engine light when temp's reach - 30 or below. Living in Fairbanks AK that's Pretty common in the winter. But there is a TSB to fix the problem. Power is great, but Gas mileage and ride are a bit lacking. Overall a very good truck.
Dodge Ram Excellent Truck
I wouldn't want another truck im very pleased with the performance of the vehicle. Also the reliability and the good looks. The would recomend this truck to somebody who wants a truck thats durable and puts out lots of power. Also the improvement of the 5.9liter to the 5.7 hemi is awsome.
Great dependable truck
I drove Fords for so long I thiught that I had one attached to me. I switched to Dodge Because of what others friends explained to me the benifits of Dodge, my Fords were almost always in the shop.I drove fords from 1955 to 1996 When I made the switch. I've owned a 96-99 Dodge & now a 03. The only time any of them have been the shop was for regular maintaince of the wreck I had in the 99. I'll never go back to Ford
At 174 mile cummins blows-up
I reluctently purchased the truck because everyone raves about the cummins high output engine being the best diesel on the market today. However, with only 174 miles on the truck, the engine blew-up. The build quality leaves alot to be desired, the thin sheet metal used on the exterior of the truck sounds like a tin can.
Nice truck
From the moment I test drove nthis truck I had to have it. I went in the dealer for a 2500 with a cummings but after feeling the power of this thing i settled for the HEMI. All of the power and comfort that a person could possibly need in a truck.
dodge this
Beautiful Truck, I bought the Patriot Blue 2500 Quad Cab. I test drove the Ford 250 / Chevy 2500 and it was just no comparison in terms of power - the hemi really rocks. Towing has been great, no problem with 2500# loads up steep inclines. The 4wd and anti-lock brakes are a dream in the snow. Ride is stiffer than the Chevy, but smoother than the Ford. Overall comfort is excellent and comparable to most cars, no complaints. Gas milage is not great, 11.5 MPG (so far), but is comparable and expected with a 5.7 liter (and the way I drive) Overall Great Truck!!
TURBO DIESEL - ONLY WAY TO GO
ONLY WAY TO GO IS WITH DODGE'S TURBO DIESEL. MPG IS INCREDIBLE & IT'S THE QUIETEST OF THE TOP THREE. DODGE HAS HIT A HOME RUN WITH THIS 5.9L.

2500 Hemi
After one month of ownership, no regrets here! I traded a Tahoe so the 2500 feels a little heavy but solid. Pulling a 21' boat doesn't even challenge the Hemi power. If I can leave the cruse control at 60 it will get about 16 mpg, in city traffic about 8-9. Having a great dealership made the whole buying experience fun, bagottmotors.com. Can't reccomend them enough!
I GOT A HEMI IN HERE!!!
I really like the new dodge, but after mounting a set of BFG 315 75 17's I've noticed a huge loss in power in overdrive. My only wish would be a 4 speed tranny!!!
Rough and tough
The truck has the standard-output Cummins and the 4 spd. automatic. Plenty of power and terrific fuel economy. The build quality seems excellent... fit and finish is perfect and there's not a squeak or rattle to be heard, and that's not without some coaxing: with nothing in the bed, this is a rough riding SOB. But hell, that's half the fun of it!
2003 2500 4x4
The bad quality is terrible. Gas mileage is terrible. It has been very dependable. It hauls my trailer well as long as the ground is flat. Up hill, even a small amount and you’re down to less than 40 mph. It has been reliable.

Fuel system n/g
I've had my ram diesel in the shop 3 times due to fuel system problems mostly the fuel pump dodge tells me it's my fault and don't want to warranty it.
High Output blows up
Cummins H.O. engine with manual tranny: Bought one and with only 174 miles on the odometer, it blew-up. The body is made with the thinest sheet metal I've ever seen. The seats are like sitting on stone. The transission is weak and notchy. The one they replaced the blown-up truck with is running better but can be quite loud at times, reminiscent of the old cummins.
Dodge 2500
Nice vehicle with lots of room and power
My big Dodge
I've never had a vehicle as fun to drive as my big Ram. I've got the Cummins HO Turbodiesel I-6 instead of the Hemi, and it's like having an F14 afterburner strapped in the bed. While it's not as sprightly as my old Integra, it handles very very well for 4 tons of steel. I'll be watching for starting hassles as the weather gets colder, but nothing so far
kick a** truck!
this truck is AWESOME! for a 6100 pound vehicle, let me tell you, its got plenty of giddyup with the 5.7 Hemi and 5 sp auto. WHOA!!!
Grab'n Life by the Horns
What can I say? I love this truck. The HO Diesel and the six speed manual transmission will have the Ford and GM boys running to hide as the Dodge men come to town. Good ride, Great power, Excellent build, and the established reliability of the Dodge/Cummins combo... What more could any truck enthusiast want?
My first truck
I transitioned to a truck from a 2 seater sports car. Quite a difference. I was able to negotiate to Edmunds TMV on both the purchase and sale of my sports car. I like the truck, but dislike the dealership. They need lessons in customer service as well as internal efficiency. The dealership refunded $2,000 in accessories due to their incompetance. The only thing that continues to shock me is the horrendous gas mileage. I don't know what I was expecting, but 8 MPG wasn't it
1st time Ram Buyer
after 15 years of driving ford trucks this new Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi is one great truck.it looks good, sounds great and is quick for such a heavy truck. one draw back Dodge could put a little more thought into sound systems.
New Owner
After owning a 94 1/2 ton for 9 years and 140,000 miles I thought it was time to replace with something new. I looked at Chevy for 2 hours, Ford for 4 hours and bought the best, a Ram. Nothing compares with the Ram for "bang for the buck" easily the best true diesel engine made as well as ergonomics and exterior styling. I have 2200 miles on the truck and it is a torquey monster that eats most other vehicles from the stoplight. I am looking forward to driving for at least another 9 years.
Ram this
Cummins diesel engine. What a truck. I've never been so happy!
awsome
BEST DODGE TRUCK SO FAR. THIS MY 6TH DODGE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST POWER, THE BEST BRAKING AND SHORTEST TURN RADIUS OF ANY TRUCK I HAVE OWNED. THIS WILL PUT A FORD TO SHAME!!!!
Great Truck
Outstanding vehicle....I traded in a 1997 Ram 2500 Cummins with over 300,000 miles on it so when it came time to replace it there was really only one place to start. I never had to look any further...all of the features I loved about my 1997 but with a huge leap forward in interior design, fit and finish and drivability.
Cant Pass The Gas Station
This truck is great for looks, power and hauling. Can fit 4 people easily. Nice interior. the dealer lied to me and said i would get just as good or better gas mileage then my 98 durango. This was suppose to be due to the new gearing etc. Lustine Dodge in Woodbridge VA will say anything so you buy a vehilce, dont go there!
H.O. Diesel is the best engine for the $
I have had the truck for just over 7 months now. I really have enjoyed every aspect of it. Has some serious get up and go. I took it up against one of my friends who has the new Hemi and blew his doors off. We then each put 3,000 lbs trailers on headed up the the mountain. I couldnt even see him in my mirror!!! And at the gas pump he paid, where mine wasnt much more different than normal. With a chip, air intake and exhaust adding well over 180lbs of torque I feel I could take almost any car, let alone truck on the road.
Best Vehcial Yet
2500 SLT Ram, 4X4, 5.7 Hemi, 5-speeed auto, 3.73. I have bought several new cars over the years, and I can say that this 2500 Ram is the best one yet. After 6500 miles, I have not had to take it back for anything. It appears that Dodge is getting much better with the quality issue.
silver bullet
a fine truck, silver color looks great, had a 2002 4x2 with 4.7, had to move up to the hemi 5.7,it has lots of get up and go, I recomend this truck over a ford any day. very sturdy ride, turning is smooth, have st model, get the power locks and window option if you can. I did not and wish I could have. see ya on the road.
Great truck
Wonderful economy for a 3/4 ton truck. I can get about 18 MPG average w/no trailer and 13 MPH with about 10k pounds of cattle and trailer. My kids love the rear seat and there is plenty of storage room. Two complaints: More lumbar support would be nice and my driver side grab handle came loose 2 weeks after I bought the truck. I am 6'0 195, so I should not be too large for it. I am going to get a 2005 for the added HP and torque.
Great truck
Came over to dodge, from chevy.Best move I ever made.
2500 Ram
Excellent overall... Over a year old and NEVER in for repair.
60,000 miles
Trouble with fuel guage required tank removal and was not covered by guarantee. Early replacement of all 16 spark plugs was costly. Mileage is unsatisfactory. Steering is too sensitive to road bumps. Differential shudders in slow turns. Hemi engine requires special care (extra oil) As a towing vehicle, the truck is satisfactory, and I tow a 30-foot travel trailer or usually tow a fishing boat.
