01 Grand Caravan Sport- no fun to drive
After leasing a 98 Grand Caravan and loving it, I made the huge mistake of leasing this 01 without a test drive. This is an AWFUL vehicle- wallows on roads, no pickup, especially with the air on- and oh, by the way, the car's been back at the dealer three times for AC problems and still isn't fixed. The beast gets hot inside with no air! Average mileage less the 15 mpg. If you have an older Grand Caravan, keep it!
Not Complaining
I previously owned a 98 Plymouth Voyager Expresso, just like a grand only shorty, had 140,000 km when I bought it used it as a service van with ladder racks loaded with equipment and ran all over N.A. till I quit contracting, ( around 210,00km) just changed the oil, great. converted back to a family vehicle 2 years ago and ran it up to 268,00 km 2 weeks ago, only put tires on it, brake job and one rear window motor used $40. It's been great 2 weeks ago finally blew a water pump $89 new, 2 hrs labor, big deal! 1 serp belt $40 total cost bought used at 5000 tires 400 brakes 400 water pump 89 serp belt 40 window motor 40 Grand total $5969.00 Canadian Great Van! Just Bought 2001 Grand Love it!

Good & Dependable
This is a very dependable van. We rented one on vacation about 5 years ago and my mother-in-law really really like it. So we bought her one but unfoturnately she doesn't drive it ever unless it's an absolute have to. These Dodge's don't seem to be made for short people to drive. Her and my wife are about 5'1 and 5'2 and neither one of them enjoy the driving experience. However on the plus side it is very dependable. Gas mileage is definetly lacking, we previously owned a Chevy Venture van and it out did this one by a landslide. We are a little afraid to get rid of it because it is so dependable but my mother-in- law has since bought a chrysler sebring and we will probably be getting a Suburban soon.
2001 Dodge Grand Caravan - Grand Indeed!
Got my 2001 Grand Caravan used with 50,000 miles on it, now have 165,000. It has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. Driving comfort, road performance, utility, reliability; all top notch. I replaced the stock air filter with a K&N filter at 90,000 miles, and noticed an immediate increase in fuel economy of almost 10%, as well as noticeably more power under acceleration (3.3 liter V6). Only maintenance and normal wear type expenses with this car; brakes, one set of rotors, one rear windshield washer motor, one set of anti-sway bars. It has all-original exhaust system and shocks, and has never stranded me.
Nice family car
This is a nice family car. Roomier than other mini-vans.
