lots of little problems
We went for the top of the line fully loaded, have had nothing but problems. don't always act up when you take it to the dealership. Dealer has been great. atleast everything is on warranty but what happens when there is no more warranty. problems with tranny, electrical, computer, slider motor & chain, ect...
Excellent van
We have a 96 Grand Caravan with 168,000 miles and it is still running strong, but figured the wife would be better with a newer model. The van gets 23-24 mpg, rides great, and everyone is comfortable. The power sliding door is a two edged sword, but the power liftgate is great, especially when it is raining. We have 65,000 on this van, and have never had a problem with it.

Dodge grand
Good all around vehicle.
What a difference a few years makes!
The 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan is a huge improvement over the older minivans. The ride is extremely smooth, you can barely feel any road bumps; there is very little engine noise, and the gas mileage is excellent (we're getting 26 highway/18 city). We love the look and styling of the newer vans (ours is dark garnet red) and the alloys really help to make a sharp statement. This is our first van with quad seats and our 2 boys love them--no fighting for their own seats anymore. We would highly recommend this van for anyone, especially a family who has had the older minivans in the past. You won't believe what an improvement they are.
Good Buy
Purchased 6-cylinder Grand Caravan in summer of '91, after plenty of research. Great van for a young family (2 adults, 2 kids). Recommend the 6- cylinder with luggage rack. Pros: Driver and passenger comfort are excellent. 6-cylinder provides plenty of power (test drove the 4-banger too...a bit of a dog). Drives like a large car, very smooth with enough pep for passing. Cons: One recall to replace side door latch (handled very efficiently by dealer). Removable seats are very heavy...not a one-person task. Because of this, we avoid removing the seats and use the luggage rack instead.
