Hunk of Junk!
We have sunk so much money into this van. It has been the most unreliable vehicle we have ever owned. It handles OK, but is very loud (outside noise and under the hood). It squeaks and squeals so much that we don't know when something is really wrong with it. The removable seats are too heavy, and didn't even include headrests for the backseats. We have had to replace the transmission, rear main seal, and now the air conditioner has just gone up. We are fed up with this hunk of junk!
Dodge Caravan 10 Year Owner Ratings
Overall, I am disappointed with the vehicle. I spend a lot of money the first 4-5 years repairing problems - what a piece of junk. While the car settled down in terms of repair after that, the repairs are again spiking as the mileage builds beyond the 200K mark; brakes, trans (again and again...), radiator, heater core, brakes again, cat. converter). While there are some good design features, mechanically the car is a design failure (my personal opinion).

this is the best car anyone could ever own. we have had ours for a long time and it now has 335,520 miles on it and its still running strong. i wish we could keep it forever. if you are looking for a car, buy this one. you will never regret it

don't get this
I have just a regular caravan. Last year at 50,000 miles it started leaking oil, ended up 1500.00 later and after taking it back and forth with the dealer over 5 times it has started to leak oil again. On top of that had to replace cam shaft pulley pin when the engine made a horrible noise--that is broke again as well. I am a woman who doesn't drive cars to death but this car has been a nightmare. The dealer was even worse to deal with. I am fixing to trade it in and take a loss. Don't ever get this if you can possibly!!!
Great Van
Bought this van new in 1998 and have had no problems other than normal wear up to now. Had to put in a $50 front-end part and that is it. Greating driving van, easy in and out. Lots of flexible room.
3.3 One of Mopars Greatest
Bought two Grand Caravans with over 200,000 miles on them - both vehicles went over 260,000 miles on them - one for 670 dollars and the other for 650... Both had flex fuel motors...One of them towed two chevy blazers to the junk yard when scrap was high... Very tough rigs - both of them.
