bought a 2021 Equinox and I must say I am impressed. I thought a 4 cylinder turbo would lack the power BUT I WAS WRONG. Bought the LS with cov. package and it is JUST what we need in a vehicle. LOTS of room, great appearance, handles like a sports car at a price that IMPRESSED me!.

Wind noise

I bought a 2021 Chevy Equinox LT and after bringing it home and driving at a higher speed than the test drive I noticed an annoying wind noise coming from the driver and passenger side. I thought the windows were not rolled up all the way and hit the button and windows were up as far as they would go. Noise still there. Took it back to the dealer and they checked door alignment and adjusted it as per specs. Noise is still there. They said it was coming from the rearview mirrors and nothing they could do about that. Is anyone else having this problem and what can be done about it.

I rented a 2021 Equinox for a week. Was pleasantly surprized it did everything well. The 4 cyl engine had me fooled it was a V6 until I opened the hood - its got V6 levels of quietness & smoothness. The ride was as smooth & quiet as a Malibu or Camry - much smoother & quieter than several Toyota Rav4's I have rented. The transmission was silky smooth (unlike the jerky Rav4). The vehicle tracked straight on the highway. The AC was cold. Cannot think of any faults other than the seat bottom could use more padding and the fuel economy is 4 MPG worse than the Rav4

Happy with renting 2021 Equinox AWD LT for 3 days

I had to disagree with the Edmunds review for the 2022 Equinox. The cargo space was satisfactory for it size. The cabin interior design was not "lackluster". Perhaps the reviewers drive too many luxury cars. I did not think the turbocharged 1.5L engine was "sluggish". The performance compared well with my 2018 Mazda CX5 with the n/a 2.5L motor which was in the paint shop for minor work. I drove the Equinox on the streets and on the freeway, and the standard engine was lively enough for me. I did sense some road vibration at 65 mph and faster, but the rental car already had 41,500 miles. Maybe realignment was needed, or it's an all wheel drive thing.

Car handled well looked nice engine had pep brakes were good But I did not buy this car because the drivers seat was pure misery it was so uncomfortable that after 10 minutes I ended up with a back ache ...Number one thing in a car for comfort is the seat this seat was narrow and hard and cheap Im 6'3 inches 180 pounds tall and thin no one could be much thinner than me could not find any comfort no matter how I adjusted the power seat I love the car would have payed CASH for it on the spot but the cheep miserable drivers seat put a wrench in the sale I dont know how people wider than me can even drive this car

My barely 3000k miles 2021 equinox is already misfiring when first start. Also it shakes from the back suspension after 75 mph. This is sad considering is a brand new car. Besides that it offers decent amount of tech for the price. Lucky for me this is only a lease. I won’t finance this.

Purchased this vehicle this past spring. Has been 25 years since our last NEW car, (still have the '96 Blazer) All the upgrades, safety features, and all the modern electronic features took us some time to figure out but we're getting there. The power of the turbo 4 cyl.really knocked me off my feet, it takes off like a 747. So far, love the car.

I’m writhing this review hoping someone with the same issue isn’t stressing/ struggling like me . My brand new equinox with under 900 miles on it will randomly wobbling / shake in the front end while driving ! After a few seconds it goes back to being a prefect normal smooth ride . The Dealership and GM have no idea what’s going on with it and are finally trying to diagnose it again ! I really wanted to love this car but I feel like it’s a major safety issue .

2021 equinox is a big turd, don’t buy one.

The engine runs rough on start up like it has a missfire or vacuum leak. The transmission doesn’t shift correctly. The dealer says nothing is wrong. It drives like all the other cars they have. Now the car shakes like it has loose wheels. I don’t know if the axles aren’t spinning at the same speed. I don’t want to take it in again for this new problem, because they don’t fix anything. Just another day wasted at the garage and more of my valuable time I can’t get back. I bought a new car so I wouldn’t be at the garage.

The car does not feel as roomy as the older models but not uncomfortable. The ride is fine. The car needs a redesign to give it a more pleasing look. It looks like you are driving a cheaper car. I wish I had purchased the Premier. It is a little difficult to enter and/or exit for a senior.

Bought is as replacement for my aging Cruze… So far everything works… or so dealer claims… when cold, transmission will flare couple times around 30MPH (3-4 gear)… been to dealer, applied TSB to ‚relearn clutch capacity’… back to square one in 2 days… dealer still claims ‚works as designed/can’t replicate your problem’… I love to drive it, but that annoying flare, made me to replace 2nd car with Mazda…

Bought 2021 Premier FWD to replace my '14 Cruze LTZ... hard decision, but through perspective of time, it was the right one. Equinox is spacious, my favorite is flat floor in 2nd row (no tunnel), plenty of legroom for rear passengers, double floor in trunk for my umbrella and little stuff, and Chevy's comfort. On top of that I keep getting constantly over 30MPG average!!! Since it's the top trim, I was expecting electronics issues like with my Cruze, but surprisingly... none is happening. One thing brings my overall positive perception away... My Cruze was 6-speed Auto... transmission had a slip when cold on first few shifts when taking off, it started around 40k... well... Equinox has the same issue since 1st week of ownership... went to dealership... multiple times just to be told 'it performs as designed'... well, now it has 42k and it still persists, did not get better or worse, slip is there... One warning, 1.5T engine is ADEQUATE for the car, if you are looking into zooming around with your SUV... pick another model. This engine has enough power for daily driving, but it will never be revvy as Mazda 2.5 is. So for anyone switching from Cruze sized car, it will be more than enough for normal driving. Those who had SUV with more power like VW Tiguan with 2.0T or Toyota RAV4 with 2.4, will feel under-powered. Another good thing about the 1.5T is, it does not have typical turbo lag, lack of power can be felt when ambient temperature is high, however when engine starts loosing its natural power, turbo takes over in the background and keeps propelling car forward. Really nice and smooth engine. I would buy it again and it is a real contender when this one gets up on the mileage. Price is very reasonable and it is very well executed vehicle, mine being just regular oil changes (7500 miles or computer below 20%, whichever is first) and fuel. Update: Got some PM done at 54k, new spark plugs, flushed and filled transmission... so far all good...

Purchased this vehicle for my wife who came out of a Honda Civic. This SUV impressed her from the minute she opened the door. It is a LT with a few bells and whistles and she really loves driving it. It has a peppy and comfortable ride and all the power she needs. Steering is very nimble and does great in both city and highway driving. She also gets great gas mileage. Very happy with this vehicle and should last us for a few years. Great job Chevrolet!

Every 2 years the equinox is exchanged for a new one since it is a company car. 2021 has the most brutally uncountable seats, forcing your back to arch and presses your shoulders forward. Additionally the traction control on the base model is worse than any car I have been in within the last 10 years, other people have had similar experiences and have worn through 60,000 mile premium tires in less than 15,000 miles (believed to be from changing power from tire to tire) this used to be a great vehicle and Chevy has really messed it up, please fix this vehicle.

Car looks great, great controls, great standard features. Can't say enough good about the vehicle. Until you sit in and drive it. All the good things about this car goes out the windows when you sit in the drivers seat and ride in it. I physically am in pain after driving it. I don't know what it is about the front seats they are incredibly unfordable. I don't know how the designers of this vehicle missed something so PAINFULLY obvious. If you like in northern climates I would recommend getting a AWD version. As nimble as it is on dry and wet pavement it gets really squirrely when there is snow on the road.

When I went to the dealer and told them what I was looking for in a car they pointed me to the Equinox. I have driven several other SUV's and had 2 other cars in mind to purchase until I drove this car. It has everything I was looking for and more. I got the nice sound system, the remote to start my car from inside and the bright front lights. I also got the leg room, the good gas mileage, the storage room, the large screen display and the all wheel drive just to name a few. I made the right choice when I bought this car.

I haven't had any complaints about my car. I love it, I don't think that there is anything about it that I have a problem with. I love the color too, Pacific Blue. The salesman was great to work with, I had dealt with a different dealer, and didn't get the help that I needed, so I went to McDonalds and had a very easy time explaining what I needed, and they were able to help me out with a new car to take home that day.
