A real review from a mechanic
This is not what I expected after reading some reviews. I'm 6'3 320lbs and I fit fine is this vehicle. Its fairly comfortable and roomy. The 2.0t engine is amazing with the 9 speed transmission. Smoothest engine I've ever seen. Very easy to change oil on, filter is right in front, didn't even raise the vehicle to change the oil. Now for you people not liking the start stop feature, just stop! The system runs great, it did not stop with my ac on. And if your so bothered by it just slide the shifter back to L and rock the shifter switch up to L9 and it wont shut off at all. This vehicle is just all around great. Now let me tell you how I got this vehicle. It's a 2018 and it was salvaged from a rear end accident. 28k miles, was fully repaired at rear. I paid $12,500. The vehicle still smells like new. Sure I wont be able to fully insure it, just liability, but at the price I paid, I'm driving a new vehicle with 28k miles. It is the LT 2.0t AWD and cost $35,000 new.

Love My 2018 Equinox
What a fantastic car! I have had mine for 2 weeks and love it!! got it on incentives and black Friday deals $26K out the door with Gap protection. I don't understand the grips with acceleration it's definitely quicker than my 07 V6 Explorer granted its bigger and heavier it also has a much larger 4L engine. Android Auto is an Amazing feature that makes life on the road easy and fun. It feels big but drives small the maneuverability is fantastic. I would recommend an Equinox to anyone with a small family fits 3 car seats perfectly. Grade A+

Turbo
I see many reviews on sluggish 6 speed. The Turbo Charged 1.5l 4 cylinder engine with 178 hp is difficult to pull off and GM did their research. Newer engines shut down under low load then restart. (Stoplight) Generally Turbo chargers have a reaction time to draw air and timing. Handling is excellent on 19 in tires. I read that 86 g of traction while turning. Of the best in class. In my experience driving this vehicle I am a believer in 4 cylinders with lots of power, Excellent gas mileage, and smooth handling. Optional AWD.

Less comfortable than my 2016 Equinox
Comparing my 2018 1.5L FWD and 2016 2.4L FWD Equinoxes: 2018 is worse for front seat comfort, interior road noise, and ride motions over rough pavement. The 2018 is better for city acceleration. The 2018 may be better for city fuel economy, but I need more miles to evaluate.

Excellent Equinox!!
Leased a 2018 Equinox LT AWD. Great Styling, Plenty of Room ,Handles great with a lot of Pep. My second Equinox and Chevy did a great job with the remodel. Apple Play is great and Chevy My link Touchscreen is a big improvement.

watch out for standard radio
We just leased this 2018 Equinox and have had it for about 2 months. It drives and rides well. We have driven it on 2 trips and got good gas mileage. My biggest complaint is package we got which includes the tailgate lift, has a standard radio in it which won't connect with Android Auto if you have a smartphone that is 6.1 or lower. We bought this vehicle for the on screen navigation feature and now can't use it because my smartphone is only a 6.1. The only way we could have gotten the correct radio that would work with my phone was to buy the $2000 upgrade package that has the sunroof. We didn't want the sunroof and GM doesn't put the upgraded radio in any other car, so be aware of this issue with the 2018. Saying all this it's obvious that GM got a lot of complains because the 2019 all come with compatible radios, even my smartphone works in it! My only solution to this problem is going to be to buy a newer smartphone that is 8 and above at over $200 and I really don't want to do this. My dealer said GM could put a patch on the software to make all phones work with Android Auto but so far they haven't been willing to do this. Don't know if we will keep this car once our lease is up.

2nd motor, 3rd turbo, and only 30,000 miles.
Our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox LT has been the most problematic vehicle we've ever had. It seems our Equinox spends more time at the shop than on the road. It has just over 30,000 miles. At around 9,000 the turbo went out in the dead of winter. Leaving the vehicle in limp-mode during a snowstorm. It was limped about 200 miles to the nearest dealership. It took the dealership 2 months to return it. Fast forward to 16,000 miles. It was driving when the dashboard lit up. About 3 milliseconds later the engine stops. I pull over to inspect and there is oil coating the passenger side of the car. The wheel and brakes are covered in oil. I pop the hood and see metal shards and oil everywhere. It threw a rod on cylinder one and windowed the block. Back to the shop for 5 weeks. 19,000 miles and the new turbo goes out. Turns out when they replaced the motor the old turbo (full of metal shaving) went on. So, another new turbo goes in. Now it has around 30,000 miles and is continuing to give us problems. It's been misfiring and the catalytic converter is shot. The dealership just erases the codes and says nothing wrong. Driving the 2018 Equinox is a nightmare. It handles like garbage. Steering input is sluggish and turn in is trash. The 1.5T is the most pathetic engine which is paired to an equally pathetic transmission. Shifting is sluggish and the transmission can never decide what gear to be in. Add in the fact that the vehicle is too heavy for this combination and you have a great time on the highway. Wind throws it everywhere because the suspension is too soft. Winter driving is an absolute nightmare. The AWD system is a joke. I hope you have roadside because the stability/traction control will decide when it wants to function. Fuel economy is awful. It gets worse fuel economy than my 1998 Chevy K2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel. Where my 8600 pound truck can go on a tank, the Equinox takes 3 fill ups. Now that's saying something. There are three things the Equinox does well... The heat is from the gates of hell, the seat warmers will sizzle your hams, and the A/C feels like a Minnesota winter. Overall, would not recommend. Two big thumbs down!!!

Rain may cost more
LOW air intake MAY take in water IF going though water. With all the rain we had is is necessary to go though water, however this did cause my car to quit and cost $$$$$$$$ to repair. water did mix with oil

auto engine stop/start
I traded for the equinox because it has a power lift gate. It also has dark glass in the back doors and lift gate that you can't see thru at night. It has a backup camera but its too bright. I can't see anything on the screen at night, but it,s OK in the day time. The reason for the low marks is the new feature called AUTO ENGINE STOP/START. I was not told about this feature. If i knew about this, I would not have traded for this equinox. This is the dumbest thing that I ever seen on a car. You pull up to a 4 way stop and the motor dies. When you release the break the motor restarts about a half second later. This is wrong to have something like this feature added to the car and not tell anyone about it. I know that it will cost big money for starters and batteries after the warranty runs out. Update: As of 11/16/2018 there is no change in the way I feel about this car.

First SUV I bought looks like the best!
I've had my Equinox for a little over a year and I couldn't be happier. I have the 2.0T LT trim with a sunroof. The car is roomy, accelerates very well, seems open with good viability and has decent handling for an SUV. I came from a Chevrolet Volt which I loved for years but wanted something with a bigger back seat and cargo area, so I bit the bullet and went back to an ICE. I test drove all the usual suspects (CRV, Rav4, Forester, etc.) and found the Equinox's new styling much more appealing. What sold it for me was the 2.0T with the 9-speed auto. What a combo! VERY smooth shifting going up and down the power distribution and the acceleration was a thrill. Never thought an SUV would do 0-60 in less than 7 seconds. The icing on the cake was the awesome panoramic sunroof. It really opens up the cabin for front and back seat passengers. Shout out to Phil Smith Chevrolet in Fort Lauderdale, FL. They were great to work with, very patient and gave me an awesome deal. So far no defects to report.

Wireless charging plate doesn't work for IPHONE X
I purchased a 2018 Equinox Premier. I am so sorry I did. I have Apple Car Play but the touted charging plate doesn’t charge an IPHONE X or IPHONE 8. If I had known this, I would have chosen another vehicle! I found a fix, but our dealer said when they approached GM they said, Sorry about that! I am sorry as well and very disappointed in GM. The Chevy Bolt, Tahoe, Silverado, and Suburban charging plates are compatible with iPhone 8 and 10. Why can’t they just switch out the plate from my Equinox and replace it with one of the other plates???? It isn’t rocket 🚀 science! If they want GM Loyalty this is a killer for me!

Great car
I bought the Diesel version, and with the idiots now at the top of the country raising gas prices through their actions, I'm glad I did. Car is comfortable, and the turbo diesel gives me not only pep at starts, but great gas mileage. Around town I get around 32, on the freeway I've gotten 52 mile per gallon on one stretch of highway driving, normally around 48. Filling DEF fluid is easy. Love the car. Unfortunately the diesel will no longer be offered in 2020 versions. With the political climate, that may change.

Prefer my older equinox
The interior seems so cheap. Plastic everywhere. Seat are hard. I don't like the automatic door locks. Half the time the doors won't open when you push the little silver buttons. It is annoying to always hear the horn honk when you walk away. I don't like the engine shutting off at lights. I wish I had a cd player in it. The bluetooth only works about half the time. I was so disappointed when I found out that I could not get XM radio in my base model. We were so much happier in our 2014 and 2007 models. This will be our last equinox.

Stay Away if You Value Your Sanity and/or Life
In 2017, I purchased my brand new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premium 2.0L Turbo AWD. It, to date, has been the absolute worst decision I have ever made in car ownership and finances in general. I could not possibly less recommend this vehicle. Engine, MPG, and fuel: While the 2.0L AWD Turbo does have some good pep to it, especially with the reduced weight of the new model, the rest is very suspect. The sticker, and the salesman promised 28MPG in city driving, and 39MPG on the highway. While I know the MPG is never quite as advertised, I have never felt so mislead, getting on average 23-24MPG on the highway since day one, going the speed limit. Comfort: Well… there’s not really much of that but what there is of it is all in the back seat. • The front seats are stiff and flat. This vehicle is absolutely miserable on long trips. These front seats are mind blowing lacking. The back seats, however, are slightly more cushy feeling and recline to a genuinely nice angle for rear seats with a deceptive amount of leg room. • The Wind noise is horrible. The passenger side door has significant wind noise that I wasn’t able to detect when I did a final ride and inspection. • Whistling wind noise from the panoramic moon roof. Upon asking about this multiple times I was told it was the luggage racks. That said, after removing them to test the theory, nope, still there - at just the right pitch to make me feel like I have a severe case of tinnitus at the right speeds. I always leave the moon roof shade closed to muffle it. Technology: It has everything, and yet might as well nothing at all. This vehicle I purchased was fully loaded. • The foot enabled hands-free automatic rear hatch took a month of practice to use. Even the dealership couldn’t operate it successfully every time. • The automatic bright headlight control. This thing is intermittent in functionality. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I have actually found a trick that if you turn the automatic brights off, then back on, then force brights manually and then turn brights off, after it passes one oncoming car with their lights on, it will work again approximately 60% of the time. • When it gets too cold, I lose the ability to have traction control until the car warms up, but also only once I turn the car off then back on again, and only about 80% of the time if it’s below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. This feels safe. • I will randomly get a notification that my Forward Collision System is Unavailable. Again if I stop at a stoplight or stop sign and turn my car off and then back on, I’ll usually not get the error again, which I guess must mean it’s working appropriately again, presumably. • The screen in my display cluster would also just randomly not display any information but a blank screen, except for the odometer. Sometimes also turning my car off and on again would fix this. Other times I would have to wait until getting into the car later for it to work again. Now thankfully a software update from my dealer seemed to have fixed this, about a year into owning the vehicle. • The backup camera would look like an old VHS camcorder bad home movie randomly. One tech told me this was because of a loose connection, but they never were able to fix it, until again a later software update. • The passenger window will sometimes “freak out” and just stop working for a minute and then work again and this won’t happen again for months. No one can “track down” the issue. • The driver side window will “freak out” and think it’s hitting something and start rolling back down again multiple times before moving up. I thought this may be a tightness/resistance issue, but I was told that it seems to move freely. Who knows? Happy rain day at the drive through! • Sometimes after leaving the house for work in the morning, about a minute after I put it back in drive, the gas peddle will “vibrate/shudder” under my foot along with a sound to anti-lock breaks tapping very fast. No one can tell me what this is. I guess that’s safe too. It is now July 2020, and I have had this vehicle for 3 years. This $40k mistake still feels like it’s haunting me as depreciation has now eaten up all of the “equity” I had in the vehicle. I will be getting rid of this Equinox as fast as it makes financial sense, even though truly I should just get rid of it now owing $17k. However, upon just looking, it looks like the worth has now dropped to $16k. That said, if I have to eat the difference to get rid of it I will soon. I have a wife and 7 month old daughter that I always wonder if they’re truly safe in this vehicle when we’re all together. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of this. Just get a used 2016 model or prior if you really want an Equinox. From reviews I’ve been reading, it sounds like similar to what I’ve been experiencing is just status quo at Chevrolet now. If you decide to go with one anyway, just don’t get a used 2018.

Our daughter loves her "Honey" two years later..
Our daughter still loves her "Honey"! She really likes the great gas mileage, the driving ease, visibility, comfort, and now add reliability in snow and icy conditions. She now lives in Wisconsin. She keeps her bicycle carrier attached all the time because she is an avid rider and typically invites others to join her. Having four people with personal items for a day in the roads or trails is easy peasy for her. She likes the fact the car "talks to her" regarding maintenance reminders and does a good job of taking care of routine maintenance issues. So far that and getting a new set of tires have been her only expenses. We also like the car when we are with her.

Nice Equinox LT
This vehicle came with all the basic options required. Economical 1.5l turbo makes this a great highway vehicle. Comfortable seats , though a bit tight for larger people. I wish Chevy would allow std NAV like google or Waze in lieu of ONSTAR, which most say is not very reliable, but GM has to go cheap on something with every vehicle and in this case, it's MYLINK. Overall good quality, a lot of sheet metal in the front doors , I love the deep well factory floor liners, the best we've ever seen, but lacks anything for cargo area. Adaquet sound system (What . no CD?) . We love the oversized moon/sun roof. Cant wait for the snow with optional AWD , 6 speed tranny shifts well. Acceleration is good for this engine size. Still getting used to the auto stop at lights, but know it is to maximize fuel economy, which is good by me! We had a 97 Blazer LT for 13 yrs , this is much nicer that that model.

Diesel economy!
I traded my Buick Encore Premium for this diesel Premier Equinox and got more space, features and economy. About 31mpg around the city suburbs and about 40mpg on the highway. 44mpg best so far! Great handling probably due to German roots with Opel Antara! Only thing I wish it had was auto windshield wipers.

A Wonderful Midsize SUV — Highly Recommend!
(For context, I own a 2018 Equinox LT AWD with the 1.5L turbocharged engine.) TL;DR - The 2018 Equinox LT is a wonderful vehicle and daily driver that I will happily drive for many, many years. It absolutely deserves your consideration if you’re looking for a comfortable, quality, fuel-efficient midsize SUV. What I love about this vehicle: - Exceptional fuel economy, especially for a vehicle of this size. - Well-designed interior: a pleasant place to spend many hours on the road. - Comfortable ride height (easy to get in and out of). - Good visibility - Responsive touchscreen - Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto) is easy to use and a fantastic alternative to Chevy MyLink - Lots of remote/power options and features, including the remote power liftgate and remote start/stop. - Remote control of vehicle locks and startup via Chevy’s mobile app (requires a monthly subscription that is more than justifiable) — especially for warming the vehicle up before cold Midwestern winter’s morning commute! Recommendation #1: The 1.5L engine is a solid, more-than-capable powertrain and pleasant to drive. However, the 2.0L engine has more pep and doesn’t sacrifice fuel economy. If an Equinox with the 2.0L engine is in budget, I would very much recommend opting for that powertrain. Recommendation #2: The large panoramic sunroof is one of my favorite options in my Equinox — whether you want to let a little sunlight in or open up the glass roof all the way, on a warm summer’s day, it can practically feel like a convertible if you want it to! It’s so easy to use and can really make the driving experience so much more fun! Outstanding job, Chevy Equinox team! Keep up the great work with this comfortable, versatile, capable, and efficient SUV!

A well rounded crossover
Pro's: 1.Intuitive infotainment system and massive sunroof make it the perfect car for long drives (8.0 inch with the sun and infotainment package) 2.Refined ride and confidence inspiring handling 3. Silky smooth and rev happy 1.5L turbo 4. Lots of low end torque. AWD and 7.9 inches of ground clearance is adequate for light off-roading. Cons: 1. 6 speed transmission is slow to downshift making quick passing maneuvers hard to execute. This really kills an otherwise peach of a powertrain 2. No locking differential. Sketchy approach and departure angles make navigating obstacles off road a risky affair.

Love my equinox
My Equinox Premier is one of my favorite cars. I have had 6 Corvettes including my current one and I would rather drive the Equinox. The Premier has every possible safety and creature comfort anyone could ask for. Heated front and rear seats. Heated steering wheel. Cooling front seats. four cameras for 360 degree view outside of car. blind spot warning auto stop to save gas. And on, and on with features. It's a pleasure to drive this car and I never felt safer.

LOVE MY EQUINOX
After reviewing and looking at several other SUV's I choose the 2018 Chevy Equinox LT with the 2.0 Turbo Engine. I got a good price from the dealership and in Sept 2017 made the purchase. It's January 2019 and have 35,000 miles on my car. I am still very pleased with my Equinox, no problems with the car with the exception of the Michelin Tires. At 24,000 the dealership told me my tires were shot, I called Michelin and they directed me to a Michelin dealer 25 miles from me. They looked at my tires and agreed they were shot. Michelin pro-rated the tires and their solution was that I pay 400.00 plus taxes and 80.00 to have new tires mounted and balanced. I wasn't VERY HAPPY about Michelin's resolution but it is what it is. I am satisfied with my Equinox and am looking forward to hopefully 300,000 more miles

DISAPPOINTMENT!
We have a 2013 Equinox which we love! Best car we have ever had and were looking forward to a new 2019. After test driving it on Saturday, we were extremely disappoited. Do not like the fact that if was down sized, was one of the things we liked with the 2013, was it's size. Interior looked plain and cheap! The cloth seats looked cheap compared to our 2013 and the dash displays were also plain and less atrractive then the 2013. Our impression was that they took a huge step back! We were with some friends Saturday Night who had just bought a new Ford Edge and it's interor and dash display was much more impressive. We will move on the the RAV4! How disappointing~

Sonic to a Equinox
We have been towing behind our motor home a Sonic for the past four years. We decided to get a larger toad and liked the 2018 Equinox 1.5 liter with fwd. It tows great and to our surprise it has been giving us great mpg when driving in mixed city and highway conditions. Tonight we went for a drive and went to a couple of towns and some county highway driving. I reset the mpg meter when we started and when we got home some 40 miles later we has 42,9 mpg for the trip. It is better than our Sonic which was a turbo 1.4 l. The car handles well an has plenty of sip for a small engine. It is quiet compared to the Sonic and I am puzzled by some of the negative reviews on this site. 8 months later we still are enjoying great gas mileage on our Equinox. We towed it from Iowa to Texas without any problems. When I checked the average fuel economy with last tank it was 37.1 which is great for this size car.

Transmission Pain
I bought a new 2018 Chevy Equinox from dealership. Of course once the warranty is expired that's when it starts having issues. My car had Torque Convertor issues @ 49,000. I spend over $2,000 to fix an issue that Chevy has redesigned in newer cars, now I am stuck with a design issue. I am in the process of asking for the money but they are giving me the run around, stating that because I took it to a non-dealership that they are unable to reimburse me. Yet, they sell GM parts to non-dealerships with manufacturer warranty on parts. [non-permissible content removed]. If I don't get my money back, its the last time I buy from GM.

Equinox Premiere is the Top
We recently bought a 2018 Chevy Equinox Premiere. We love it. It has lots of power and acceleration, beautiful interior appointments, is loaded with options, and is one of those cars that "looks like it's doing 100 standing still". We're sure it will serve us for a long time and the AWD will be a great help in our Wisconsin winters.

Our daughter loves her "Honey"!
We heavily researched crossover SUV's, and boiled it down to the RAV4, Equinox, Forester, Sportage, and CX-5. To be consistent, we tried to test drive 2017's since all had the same safety ratings for the most part, but we did try a couple 2016's. We test drove some AWD versions as well as the standard FWD. After test driving, we boiled it down to the RAV4 and Equinox, and for purchasing budget and long term maintenance expense we opted to be happy with FWD models. Kentucky is not known for getting many blizzards. For our daughter's needs, decent mileage, great safety rating, visibility, comfort over moderate distances (college is 7 hours away), not loaded to the gills with a ton of electronics, transporting her triathlon bikes, and camping the RAV4 and Equinox were neck and neck. After thinking she was going to settle for a blue 2016 Equinox I did one more local search for both cars. Lo and behold a one owner, clean Carfax, low mileage orange 2018 Equinox shows up at a "Great Deal" price! Our daughter's favorite color is orange, and being a retired Fire Captain/EMT, high visibility colors are a must for me (our daughter likes that too). The official Chevy color is "Orange Burst Metallic". I emailed the dealer late at night and 80 miles away, asking them to hang on to it, were coming to see it tomorrow. One look at the car and our eyes lit up! The color was amazing. Having looked at and drove other Equinox's we were familiar with this one. But, it was a 2018, which meant it had the improved engine with turbocharging. In addition, the 2017 Equinox's rear seats did not fold completely flat like the RAV4's did. To my daughter's delight, these seats folded completely flat. A test drive of the 2018 with the LT 1LT trim level on busy business roads, neighborhoods, and the interstate quickly informed us this model year was appreciably quieter and the performance peppier than 2016 and 2017 Equinoxes. I did a some hard braking tests at different speeds, including one at around 55+ and it stayed straight as an arrow with absolutely no bouncing around. The seats are more comfortable than the other years too. All in all there are quite a few noticeable improvements from the 2017 to 2018 model. We've only had the car for a couple weeks. My daughter liked her seven hour drive to college for the comfort and fantastic gas mileage she got. She has liked driving it around town too. And, she's already hauled a couple triathlon teammates and bicycles in it. There is only one "Con" at this point. All the chrome in the dashboard area creates several distracting glares. I bought some press on black film to do a temporary fix. Our daughter gets migraines from a number of triggers, intense or bright light being one of them. I am researching a more professional, permanent, and tasteful solution. So how did the car get named "Honey"? Because in the listing it looked orange. In person it has more of a golden honey tone. It really is a pretty color, not a common one for cars, and again, it is a safe color! When I asked my daughter if she already had a name for her car she said "Honey, because it looks like golden honey".

Dangerous Vehicle!
I bought my 2018 Chevy Equinox used at 70,000 mi. I'm 1 year in with it, and was driving down the highway, attempted to stop at a red light (was at approx. 65 mph when I began to slow down), and the vacuum pump broke into my motor, locking up my breaks. I had my 7 year old with me in the vehicle, and LUCKILY, I was able to bring the car to a stop before wrecking. Had I been a driver that breaks for red lights at the last second, we would have hit the back of a semi head on. After doing some research on this problem, we found out that it is a COMMON problem with this vehicle and even other Chevy models. Cost for repair was approx. $1000 which is CHEAP because it was done by a friend who is a long time mechanic. The pump had to be replaced, broken parts of the old one fished out of the motor, the oil, and the debris from the pump also damaged the camshaft. I will never own this vehicle again, or any other newer model Chevy for that matter.

Hard on the Butt
Before you buy, check out the front seats more carefully. We got Premier package with leather seats. The seats are not that comfortable and I still catch grief from my wife for getting rid of her 14 year old Lexus RX330. I recently thought about trading the car and getting a Subaru with a better ride and seats. Overall, I really like the Equinox and all the bells and whistles. I'm a retired operation test pilot and have tried to contact the Equinox design engineers about improving this car. So far no technical engineer has contacted me. They did sent me a $200 gift certificate which I used to buy roof cross rails. With softer and more plush seats, this would be a great car.

Why Buy Overpriced Prestige SUV?
What is the purpose of transportation? Move you and your family comfortably and economically from one point to another. I have had this vehicle for two years and I cannot be more pleased. Very comfortable ride; reliable conveniences arranged within easy reach; 4 cylinder fuel economy average 31-32 mpg in town and 35-37 mpg highway; more than enough power for interstate driving; and routine service cost to maintain vehicle top performance is friendly on the family budget.

Great for the price, one of my favorite cars!
I was very iffy about buying the 2018 year equinox with the “reviews” I seen and the feedback but I bit the bullet and decided to buy one. Is it a bit boring? Yeah but the price in today’s market is well worth it. It’s a bit slow but extremely roomy. I bought mine used at 25k miles and currently I’m at 115k without any major issues. Personally I do my oil at 5k miles, transmission fluid changes at 50k miles, spark plugs at 60k miles as recommended by Chevy in case anyone wanted to know about maintenance. This car has a good sound system, reliability has improved, a quiet ride and I’m 6’4 with ample room for myself plus rear passengers. My only complaint would be the acceleration is awful compared to cars like the RAV4 and Rogue but at the end of the day the car gets me where I need to go.

crappy idle
My 2018 Chevy equinox with1.5 L engine runs very ruff after disconnecting negative battery connection to body of the car.Took the vehicle to 2 differed dealers in Toronto . They did not help since no cones. Called GM that did not get me anywhere , they refused to do any thing. I was told by a mechanic that vehicle computer must reprogram. Is that truth had any one that problem??
Chevrolet Equinox
Great car , does not have a lot of quick get up and go power , otherwise it is a great car .

2018 Equinox LT2
My wife and I purchased our new 2018 Equinox LT2 AWD 2.0 liter turbo engine 9 speed transmission in Sept. 2017 and we love it, we both drive it on some weekend travel and around town during the week, we have 12,100 mi. on it now, it handles very well it is very comfortable and quiet, it has plenty of power for entering freeways or passing, we were very surprised with the acceleration more than enough for us. The only two things that could be better are the factory mudguards front and rear which could be somewhat larger for better protection. Also the vehicle did not come with the auto dimming feature in the 2 outside and 1 inside rearview mirrors which I feel is very important when night driving with traffic behind you, I never even thought about the dimming feature not being on this model level the LT2 I took it for granted it must have the auto dimming feature and never questioned whether or not it had the feature and I wish I would have questioned that. Other than that we are very satisfied with everything else about the vehicle.

Skip this car
I leased this car nine months ago and started my mental countdown to when I could trade it in a couple weeks later. I paid for an upgraded car and I ended up with the same infotainment center that you get with the L series cheapest model. 7" screen and in spite of assurances, it has no voice commands, like my older trade in from 2015. I contacted Chevy and they couldn't identify my radio, but told me it would look like the pictures once it did its updates, which it did not. The bluetooth constantly connects and disconnects. I've changed phones and it still does the same thing. Tried the android app, but removed it as, among other unacceptable things, unless you choose bluetooth as your source on the radio you cannot hear the phone talk, but then you also cannot listen to the xm radio or anything else unless you stream it from your phone. So, the infotainment center turns into a very expensive glorified speaker. Then it locks up, or callers sound like they are possessed, or it won't turn on. The only way to fix it is to let it sit overnight. I've complained, but you need a special tech to work on it and there is no loaner car available. I won't rent a car because my new car has a fault that is due to the manufacturer. To make calls it's back to 2012, as pressing the screen and finding recent calls as flipping through your address book while driving is totally safe, and it also won't sync or recognize text messages. The car is average in almost every way, which is fine when stuff works. You can hear all the road noise and feel every bump in the road. The interstate has grooved pavement and the car shimmies the entire time I am on it. It's the worst car I've had for ice and snow. I am used to the car shutting itself off now and lag before it wakes up and moves. It's been a disappointment.

Wind noise and engine issues
Has strange random wind noise issue. Occasionally sounds like door or window is not sealed. Just stops after random times while still driving. Makes no sense. Seem to happen about once a week, early in drive then stops. When started idle fine but until running good and warm will often have a stutter and almost die when driving and slowing to a stop. Also seems like gearing could be better. Pauses to long in between gears. Gears feel like they engage hard and jerky.

Leaking equinox
There is something wrong with the sealing in the doors. Water leaks into the seal and fills in the door. It causes the floor to get wet. It was mostly on my passenger side so I did not notice until the musty smell started within the car.

No more for me.
Sad to say after owning two Equinoxes I wont own a 3rd. Test drove a 2018 and loved everything about it except for the front seats. Deal killer for me, too small a seat base, they are stiff and this wrap around thing they do on the left and right side of your body packs you in. What a blunder as im 5'10 and 175 pounds and feel like im squished in a tiny cheap car.
