Red Beauty

Nice, Nice, Nice. This red beauty has been great since the day I bought it new off the showroom floor on Halloween, 2000. Was actually looking for a Coupe w/ automatic tranny for rush hour commute. Luckily I didn't find one, and I have no complaints with this SLP 6-speed SS convertible! (Except perhaps original Goodyear F-1 tires which are now long gone!) Looks, performance, looks (and second looks)from women, comfort, decent mileage, plus lots of options (except traction control) make for a great car and ownership experience! Trick SLP options include exhaust system and chrome wheels, both of which I am very pleased with.

Although gas mileage isn't ideal, you will have so much fun driving this car that it more than makes up for the gas. I will never sell my SS.

Bought my Z28 in 2000, low mileage, from a car dealer. She currently has slightly over 37,000 miles. I keep it maintenance free and every few years go in and replace the fittings and what not to stave off dry rot. Yes, I am the proverbial "little ole lady from Pasadena". I have never had a major problem with it. She is now 20 years old and I have purchased mountain property with a gravel road that leads to the property. I have not driven her down to the property yet, but am concerned it will not make it up the roads. I hate like hell to give her up. She moves like the wind, has given me virtually no issues and the thought of having to sell her off for an awd or 4wd makes me sick! And what if she could deal with it? I will only be leaving the house to grocery shop, go to the vet and take myself to the doctor. I am 67 years old and dearly love this car. But it's over a 10 hour drive to go from here PA down to the Appalachian Mountains in NC only to find out I can't make it up the mountain. Oh, by the way, she has a T-roof, but I have never taken the panels out. Now she is so old, I'm afraid after 20 years if I take them out, I may never get them back in. As for leaking, in a really heavy rain she will shed a couple of drops on my thigh and that is it. Do ya'll think she could make it up a steep mountain like the big boy 4wd's? [contact info removed]

Unfortunately just had to sell my '00 Camaro SS, convertible. My hardest decision I've had to make in my young life. Searched for months for the right color and body, and found a 00 leftover in 01 with only 5000 miles on it. Bought for significantly lower than would've paid new. Excellent performance, and roominess (ever try sitting in a little Mustang)?

This is my third 4th gen. F-body, and no doubt the best one i have driven. It is equiped with the optional revised bilstein suspension and high performance exhaust. Performance is exceptional for an automatic, offers unusually strong accelerations. Suspension is surprisingly good, very little body roll holds corners tightly and feels better on rough roads then my previous f-bodies. High marks for its velvety zo6 like exhaust note. Paint finish is excellent. Inside is somewhat cheap with the occasional rattle fixed by the dealership, annoying axle noise, metallic ticking noise from aluminum drive shaft during change of gears.

The car looks fast and is! Enjoyable to drive with the top down in the middle of summer. Interior finish is somewhat lacking but you don't buy this car for the interior finish. You buy this car because you want a Corvette with a backseat! Although not very roomy in the back, it does offer an alternative for small kids, etc. Great buy for the money with lots of Detroit muscle and rumble!

I bought this car used in 2004 with 11,000 miles on it. Went from New Orleans to Grand Ledge, Michigan to get it sight unseen. Turned out to be worth the trip. My first ride was the 1000+ mile trip back home with the car in which it performed flawlessly, even in the tropical storm, (no roof leaks) at my return to Louisiana. Fuel efficiency was unbelievable on this trip considering the power. This car has remarkable power, but is a mild mannered city cruiser with a better than average ride when your foot is not heavy on the gas. Exterior styling is excellent with the black top on a black car and chrome 5 spoke wheels. Exhaust note is awesome when you get on the accelerator.

This is my 3rd Camaro. I bought the car used with 12k miles and I have put it through its paces. It is a daily driver that has seen a lot of track time. It has held up very well for the amount of abuse it has seen over the past 16k miles of ownership. With VERY minimal modifications, the car went from 13.6@106, to 13.1@110. I do not hesitate to take this car on any trips, nor fear the increasing gas prices and it sees close to 30mpg on the highway, and close 20mpg around town. For the price of these used LS1 cars, the performance/dollar ratio is top notch. With 303hp at the wheels STOCK, the car is really making more than its advertised 320hp (appx 350 crank - like a base Corvette).

This is one fun car to drive. I have had several Mustangs and I love the interior by comparison. It is not a long distance car by any means. The seats are lacking support and I think I will replace myself. The look of the car is great. So far no problems but I only have 2800 miles on the car.

I love this car. I previously owned a 96 Z28. The new LS1 car is twice as fun and I loved my old one. If you like power and a fuctional daily driver this is the car for you. The back seat is tight but you can haul poeple of stuff if you must. Not an option on many sports cars.

Granted, GM could have done a better job in terms of continuous refinement of this great sportscar. Suffice to say that it's simply in a class of its own. One buys a Camaro for the sheer pride of owning a part of the American muscle car history. I'm tired of reading the cynical reviews. If you can't enjoy ownership, don't buy one!!! Your negative views are not going to spoil my fun!

I drive a mystic blue 2000 z28 Camaro V6. The best part of my day is driving this car. It is a lot of fun to drive, even in long distances. It keeps friends, family, co-workers all in awe. It's got lots of pickup even for a V6 and the thing is a tank. The car makes you feel powerful as you cruise down the road. The only thing I really don't like about it is that it cannot handle in harsh winters, but it is a fantastic summer car. Overall this car symbolizes style, speed, strength, and respect.

This car is balanced well. It feels like a muscle car when I want it to, with the exception that it actually corners. I haven't had more fun driving a car, including my old 70 Nova! It's very tame when tootling around town, the gear changes are smooth and throttle response is outstanding. Whether you're cruising the strip, or blasting down an old country road, the car responds. Easy to drive, and power on tap. 60 MPH @ 1450 Rpms in 6th gear means I get decent gas mileage (around 23-24mpg highway).

Has a brute amount of power, great handling, comfortable seats (front ones anyway), and gets between 24-30 mpg on the highway. You've gotta love that from an engine that is a 5.7L 350. This car is in its own class when it comes to looks, performance and price. The engines potential seems almost unlimited. There are setups out there where people are making over 700 HP, but still get 23 mpg on the highway with the a/c on. Drop the clutch at 1500 rpm’s and you’ll have a huge smile in about 5 seconds!

Only complaint - drive shaft cannot handle all the horses. I've had it replaced twice. There is a chevy bulletin out on this and a heavier duty shaft available. My car still has twisted the newest drive shaft too (I don't do anything stupid to abuse it). I couldn't tell these things were even happening - it was when I took it into the dealer that they caught it. I hope before the warranty is out they have a shaft that won't weaken.

If you ever need to lift your spirits, this is the car to drive. Super fast excelleration when you need to get up and GO with LS1 V8 328HP - Corvette engine. This car is a real head turner! For a fair weather car, not meant for snow, handles exceptional in heavy rain. I have dealer installed quad exhaust - its fun when young kids ask to hear it rumble! Body syle, build, and paint resist dings, easy to detail, and make the car lighter for speed. I never grew up wanting a Mitsubishi - I owned a 1973 Camaro - Chevy has come a long way with the 2000 SS... a REAL muscle car!

I ordered this car new, and it is my fourth Camaro. It's performance is great, and the fuel economy is surprising. The handling is outstanding. Unfortunately, the differential has been a constant source of trouble. It has been completely rebuilt by dealers three times. It rattles horribly under neutral load and whines when under slight power on turns. Chevrolet has admitted the rear end clunking is common, and says it is normal. Routine rebuilds would not seem to be normal. Now that the warranty is up, Chevrolet has lost interest in this.

This is a real nice car, excellent convertible top functionality (though it leaks in automatic car washes), no lack of power, handles quite well, adequate mileage out of stock goodyear tires, large doors are a pain in tight parking spots, six speed can be a bear in stop and go traffic, leather seats could be better bolstered, gets a lot of positive commewnts by passers-by.

Honestly I'm a corvette owner, own a beautiful 1988 and recently owned a 2004 zo6. My father owned several corvettes and camaro's. Huge Chevrolet fans. This Camaro is much more beautiful than the new models. For some reason I have a love for it. It's fun to drive and better with fuel mileage. My corvette gets between 6-8 MPG, this Camaro is much better and is almost a corvette, i mean that in a special way. I feel that the car is almost similar, although there's major differences and pros and cons. If you are looking for a sport's car I'd recommend this year model's. There aren't many on the roads so there's a rare factor, great price and I've seen they hold their value. I'd be interested in a 2000 camaro with low miles. I'm impressed with the 2000 camaro.

I purchased this car from the dealer using my mother-in-law's employee discount. I ordered it in September, 1999 and it was delivered on Jan 1, 2000. The brakes warped right away and Chevy resurfaced them no charge - more than once. Several months ago I decided to keep the car and installed Baer Eradispeed disks front and rear with Hawk pads and a new set of Goodyear F1 GS D3s and the car is now perfected. It goes like stink and stops exceedingly well. Now that gas is $3/Ga I think this will be my last V8, but it has been fun. Used ones are cheap now and mine has been bulletproof. I would recommend one to anyone who wants something like this.
