Bad Humming Noise
I have owned a 2004 Acura MDX SUV for about two months. This car has caused me many problems. When I drive at an engine speed of 2000 RPMS I can hear an annoying, constant humming noise. The Acura dealer has checked it a number of times and tell me it is normal and cannot do anything about it. I have also contacted the Acura Manufacturer and they have given me the same reply. I do not know what else I can do. To all future 2004 Acura MDX SUV costumers: when you take a test drive for this car, make sure to listen for this noise when the engine speed reaches about 2000 RPMS. Thank you.
It is OK
Design flaw in retractable front seat belts causes the belts to snap back too quickly and hit the door jamb. The result is small nicks on the door casing that will only get worse as the car ages. Tape over the area helps diminish this problem. Fuel economy is not good on local travel but ok on highway. Third seat is useless.

Pretty darn good
Just got a 2004 Touring RES/Nav 'cause I needed more space for the baby and cargo space to carry more than a golf bag in my bimmer. I knew that Acura always had a good reputation for overall refinement and quality and this vehicle does meet my expectations. Very smooth engine which is surprisingly quick, its cargo space is monstrous; ottoman, weber grill, you name it-it fits. Third row seating is practical for my minisized friends. Excellent vehicle with such practicality, truly an "UTILITY" vehicle.
I'd buy another X
This has been the perfect vehicle for me because: 1. I drive 45 miles to work, so the 25 mpg I get (driving gently) is great. 2. I can fit anything I need to inside, since it can accommodate boards/items 4' wide. 3. I love the way it looks. 4. It was cheaper than all the other SUVs I was looking at. 5. I've had NO major issues with it for 78k miles. 6. I can perform my own maintenance (all 4 fluid changes).
Solid SUV
Great, solid vehicle. Comfortable on a long trip, wide stance gives a very stable ride, bigger inside than it looks. Lot's of power. Don't know about the lackluster interior comments from some reviewers, but it is functional and fine with me. Only complaint I have is the gearshift could be better designed and easier to move between gears. Not as "off road" as my Jeep, but it doesn't claim to be. Also, I wouldn't buy it if I had to use it to tow much weight.
