Bad Humming Noise
I have owned a 2004 Acura MDX SUV for about two months. This car has caused me many problems. When I drive at an engine speed of 2000 RPMS I can hear an annoying, constant humming noise. The Acura dealer has checked it a number of times and tell me it is normal and cannot do anything about it. I have also contacted the Acura Manufacturer and they have given me the same reply. I do not know what else I can do. To all future 2004 Acura MDX SUV costumers: when you take a test drive for this car, make sure to listen for this noise when the engine speed reaches about 2000 RPMS. Thank you.
Super SUV Ever
I purchased my Acura MDX off the lot in October in 2004. It had about 3,600 miles on it as had been used as a demonstrator. I have just under 200,000 miles on it. Without a doubt it is the best care I have ever owned and I have had Fords, Nissans, and Toyotas . I am one year from retirement and I took it to my mechanic to determine if I should buy a newer car before retirement (I am 70). We did some work: new struts and suspension, major oil leak fixes, and new brakes. Told girl drives like new and i plan on keeping it a long time. Also, I was told that the 2004 transmission in my MDX is superior to the new ones and that seems to be true. Cannot afford a new one, but heck, the old girl I have is just as good!!!

Ultimate Performer
This SUV is awesome. I really do not understand the complaints about gas mileage. I live in the DC Metro Area, and I average 18.5 - 19.6 miles per gallon CITY, and 25.4 - 26.7 HIGHWAY. The MDX is hands down the best luxury SUV under $45,000 sticker. Remember follow the break in period per the owners manual and the gas mileage will increase guaranteed.
Solid SUV
Great, solid vehicle. Comfortable on a long trip, wide stance gives a very stable ride, bigger inside than it looks. Lot's of power. Don't know about the lackluster interior comments from some reviewers, but it is functional and fine with me. Only complaint I have is the gearshift could be better designed and easier to move between gears. Not as "off road" as my Jeep, but it doesn't claim to be. Also, I wouldn't buy it if I had to use it to tow much weight.
DONT BUY!! READ MY REVIEW
I bought a used mdx 2004. I thought if I had to buy an older vehicle Acura would be the way to go. Boy was I wrong. I've had it 2 months and now going on my third YES I SAID 3RD transmission in this piece of absolute JUNK ! The navigation doesn't work, Acura wants big money to fix it, heated seat no,longer works. Acura KNOWS ABOUT THEIR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND DO NOTHING TO HELP THE OWNERS OF THEIR JUNK VEHICLES. Do NOT BUY AND MDX OF ANY YEAR.
