NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The 2014 Nissan Rogue, Versa Note and Leaf will be the first vehicles to benefit from Nissan's new deal to become the exclusive automotive launch partner for Apple iTunes Radio.

The trio will get unique iTunes Radio materials, said Nissan North America on Monday. Apple introduced its new music service as a competitor to Pandora, which has dominated Internet radio. The Apple music service comes with new iPhones and the iOS 7 update.

Apple says users can listen to iTunes Radio on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, and Apple TV.

"All your stations are stored in iCloud, so if you stop playing a station on one device, you can pick it up on another — no syncing required," the company said. "And no matter what device you listen on, your stations become more personalized with every song you play."

Nissan seems sold on iTunes Radio, especially when it comes to promoting Nissan content.

"We see iTunes Radio as an integral part of our new vehicle launches and 'big moments,' riding the wave of interest and usage of this exciting new service to maximize exposure of Nissan's new models," said Jon Brancheau, Nissan North America vice president of marketing. "We're also adding iAd on iTunes Radio as a critical platform in support of ongoing campaigns, such as our college football and Heisman Trophy Tour initiatives."

Nissan said it will take advantage of new creative formats, including audio and video, across Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC.

Edmunds says: It is a bit too early to judge consumer reaction to iTunes Radio, but Nissan is clearly betting that it will be a winner.
