YOKOHAMA, Japan — Nissan is set to expand its Nismo lineup beyond the Nissan Juke and 370Z, Edmunds has learned.

New Nismo products will be aimed at a worldwide market, a company insider confirmed. Nissan announced on Friday that it will detail plans for Nismo motorsport and "future plans for performance" late Monday.

Nissan will open a new factory for its Nismo motorsport and performance tuning arm next week.

"Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn will headline the announcement, which is expected to reveal a new direction for Nismo's core mission," said Nissan in a statement.

The 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo debuted earlier this month at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. The first Nissan production car to get the Nismo treatment, the Juke Nismo, is already on sale in Europe and Japan and will be launched in the U.S. in the second quarter of this year.

Edmunds says: A Nissan insider says the next Nismo product will NOT be the Nissan Leaf.
