PARK CITY, Utah — Ken Block's racing team has officially changed its name from the Monster World Rally Team to Hoonigan Racing Division and has fresh livery to go with it.
Block, professional rally driver and co-founder of skateboarding footwear company DC Shoes, says the new racing look was inspired by a combination of 1980s skateboarding graphics and Miami Vice-era offshore powerboats. The previous look had less of that powder blue and a lot more green involved.
Ken Block will campaign his Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle Ford Fiesta in several 2013 racing series including the Global RallyCross, World Rally Championship and X Games. The all-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta RS WRC is turbocharged and has an estimated 600 horsepower.
The Hoonigan Racing Division recently unveiled an eco-friendly global headquarters here in Park City, Utah. It's complete with a separate workshop and creative office space, stuffed black bear and a variety of loud-colored shipping containers.
For those looking for Gymkhana news, Ken Block said that he is "working on a very special Gymkhana project with DC for 2013" and it will be very different from the previous videos.
Edmunds says: Block freshens up his racing livery and continues to define the future of rally racing and Gymkhana.
