AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The new Chrysler Custom Challenge contest is aimed at customizers who want a chance to win a trip to the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and a two-year lease of a Chrysler vehicle.

The contest launched on Wednesday on Chrysler's Facebook page. Contest rules peg the value of the top prize at $26,450.

Participants submit an image of their customized Chrysler brand vehicle with a brief description of what makes their car unique. The entries will be available for public voting through July 1. Three finalists and 10 runner-up winners will be selected by a combination of judges' scores and public votes, said Chrysler.

"We want to meet our top enthusiasts so we can not only share their passion, but reward them for their creativity, dedication and loyalty to the Chrysler brand," said Saad Chehab, Chrysler brand president and CEO.

The top three finalists will attend the 2013 SEMA Show on November 8 in Las Vegas. At that time, a panel of auto industry and Chrysler representatives will judge the modified vehicles and determine the winner.

Edmunds says: One of the better automotive contests of late, especially in terms of the prize package.
