TORRANCE, California — The production version of the 2015 Acura TLX sedan will be unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show, American Honda Motor Co. confirmed on Wednesday.

The new 2015 Acura TLX will effectively replace both the current TL and the slightly smaller TSX in Acura's lineup.

Acura says it expects to have the 2015 Acura TLX at dealerships this summer.

The 2015 Acura TLX Prototype debuted in January at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Competitors to the TLX include the 2014 BMW 5 Series, Infiniti Q50 and Lincoln MKZ.

Two-wheel-drive models of the TLX will be available with either the 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine or the 3.5-liter V6 engine. The TLX SH-AWD or all-wheel-drive model will be equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Options on the TLX will include several driver-assistance systems, including forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning and blind-spot indicator.

Pricing has not been announced, but it is expected to remain in the same $37,000-$45,000 range as the current TL sedan.

Edmunds says: It won't be long before car shoppers can get their hands on Acura's all-new midsize sedan.
