The 2014 Infiniti Q50 3.7 starts at $37,605, including a $905 destination charge. Infiniti described the G37 and Q50 pricing as a "two-pronged strategy."
"It creates room to strategically offer the repositioned G37 at the lower end of the near-luxury segment in addition to the higher-positioned Q50," said Ben Poore, Infiniti Americas vice president, in a statement on Monday. "The two vehicles aim at different market segments and allow us to serve different customer needs."
Infiniti said the revised lineup of Infiniti G37 sedan models will continue to be available in the U.S. through model year 2015 alongside the new Infiniti Q50. The Q50 goes on sale here this week.
The 2014 Infiniti G37 targets European competitors like the BMW 320i and Mercedes-Benz CLA. The 2014 BMW 320i starts at $33,475, including a $925 destination charge. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA starts at $30,825, including a $925 destination charge.
Edmunds says: It's a win-win situation for consumers as they can still get their hands on the well-regarded G37, but at a much lower price.
