DETROIT — General Motors is recalling an estimated 18,871 2013 Cadillac SRXs equipped with 18-inch wheels in the U.S. because the wheel nuts may become loose, the automaker told Edmunds.

The concern is that a wheel could eventually fall off.

GM said it knows of no crashes or injuries due to this condition and no wheels have separated from vehicles.

The automaker said it has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the problem in the SRX, but as of Thursday morning, NHTSA had not yet posted any recall information.

Cadillac dealers will rotate the tires on the recalled vehicles, "which testing has shown eliminates the condition," said GM. The recall is expected to begin in early June. Owners can contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339.

Edmunds says: This is a quick fix that requires no waiting for parts, so it's something that 2013 Cadillac SRX owners should be able to address with little hassle.
