2024 Volvo XC90 Consumer Reviews
Pricing
Not worth the big price tag.
Seats are way too narrow, they cut corners for sure. The ride is ok but choppy on rougher roads, the engine did not sound super smooth as it should for a small turbo. The reliability looks to be average to below average, they need to step it up and get with the program. The safety is good, but many are good now, not just Volvo. Shop around.

The electrical system and the infotainment glitch
The electrical system has problems when you use the directional on the left happened set times a worst on the freeway. The infotainment screen turns off when you put reverse in occasionally and on other occasions it doesn't turn on when you put the gear in reverse. The infotainment take time to turn on and the air conditioning is not accessible happened few times. And on a hot day I cannot control it. All this after dealer check the car for those issues.

Plagued With Issues
I've had my XC90 Recharge for about 6 months now, and I am already shopping for another vehicle. I will say that I love the way it drives. It is incredibly smooth and it's very fast. That's about as far as my positive comments go... I have had endless problems with incomplete over the air software updates leaving my car with functionality issues (or needing to take it to the dealership for an update, but never getting any notification of that), one leaving me stranded at the airport upon returning from a trip. Other issues were with the infotainment screen randomly turning off, the entire dash has went dark, my glovebox wouldn't open, the back hatch sometimes doesn't fully open and makes an awful noise. The lack of wireless car play and uncomfortable seats are two other minor issues.

Infotainment regression
Went from a 2020 XC90 to a 2023 XC90. Handling and acceleration is better but entertainment system is back to the 90's. No Android Auto, only Aople Play. WHY? Main display only shiw speedometer, tachometer and Google Maps in the middle. There are no other options. I hate Google maps, I want WAZE in the middle but because there is no Android Auto, I can't have it. The needs to be a major software update to address these shortcomings in a luxury SUV.

Major Improvements
I traded my 2021 XC90 T8 for a 2024 T8. The first one was pretty good (obviously - since I went back). All the quirky things have been worked out. I previously complained about the charging pad - it's gone. The navigation is replaced by a great Google Maps. The dashboard is much improved and the touch screen is so much easier to use. The XC90 was already very comfortable car and very fast. The battery has almost double the range (>36 miles) and the upgraded Bowers Wilkins sound is amazing. For car in this class - I looked at them all (again) - this is currently the three row SUV to choose.
