Definitely Buyer’s Remorse

2020 Volvo S60 T6 Inscription 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Twincharger 8A)

I love the interior, technology, and exterior styling. What I hate is the unreliability and nagging little alerts that require a service visit. Purchased new in June 2020, the T6 Inscription model massage, heated and cooling seats. As of March 2021, I’ve driven a total 2600 miles. I’ve had service lights to come on three times and one being URGENT SRS Failure—take immediately to shop. After driving Lexus vehicles for the last 20 years, I’m rally disappointed. Also the depreciation on the car is huge.

Efficient luxury and performance

2022 Volvo S60 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid T8 Inscription Extended Range 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

I’ve owned the S60 T8 Inscription Extended Range for 3 months and enjoy driving it. On battery alone I get 40-45 miles of range. The updated electric powertrain supplies decent acceleration and works well above interstate speed limits. One of my only gripes is the slow charging. It takes 5 hours plus to recharge an empty battery pack, even on a level 2 charger. No problem if you charge overnight or at work, but if I wanted a quick recharge at home between trips, no dice. I wish Volvo would update the internal charger amperage.

Best Car I Have Ever Owner.

2021 Volvo S60 T5 Momentum 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

I've had the 2021 Volvo S60, momentum, for several months. This is a tremendous vehicle, the interior is insanely great, minimalist with enormous premium appeal. There's also several technology features that are far more impressive than similar level models from different brands. I have the Harmon/Kardon sound system and I wouldn't cheap out on anything less, the sound is unbelievable and it's a huge part of the appeal/enjoyment of the car. I've had zero issues with reliability, Volvo as a brand has made strides over the past few years ensuring reliability comes first. It's very fun to drive but also took it on a 300+ road trip and was able to do 38+ MPG on ECO mode. Lastly, don't let those who drove the car once complain about the touchscreen usability, it took me 3 or 4 days to get used to it, just like any car and it's wonderful to use. I'd argue the 15 million buttons on a BMW or comparable brand is far more confusing and ultimately useless compared to having the touch screen command center in this car. I'm new to Volvo, but if this car continues to be as solid as it has been the last few months, I'm likely going to be a Volvo customer for years to come.

2021 Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Twincharger gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

I decided to right this review to help other. I always read the reviews and decided to write one. I just got my 2021 S60 T-8 Hybrid in Pebble Grey with black interior. There are only two things that I can find fault with the car. The first is that there is no ventilated seat option. The second is that I hate the FOB. The FOB is big and the buttons are on the side instead of the front like most manufacturer's FOBs. However, I knew this because I just got my wife a 2021 XC-40 T5 R-Design a few weeks ago. The car is one of the best value sedans if not the best value out there. Compared to an Audi A6, the Volvo S 60 T-8 is very similar and in some ways superior (have had many Audis). If you drive both cars to the limits, the Audi A6 would be slightly better. However, how many time do Audi A6 owners drive their cars to the limit? The T-8 is faster than the Audi and it has much more comfortable seats. In the interior department, both cars are equal. In the looks department (very subjective), both cars are great looking. In the technology department, the T-8 is superior to the Audi. While the Volvo's large touch screen infotainment can be distracting to operate while driving, there is minimal interaction needed once you do the car's initial setup to your preferences. My T-8 has the Bowers & Wilkins option, which provides a better sound experience to Audi's Bang & Olufsen system (which is also a very nice audio system). Granted it is a $3,200 option over the base Harman Kardon (which is also a great system). The car I wanted had the upgraded Bowers & Wilkins option and it did not amount to too much of a difference in the monthly payment (at least not for me). Would I pay the full $3,200 for the option if I was buying the car? No, the base Harman Kardon is a nice system. These days, I do not put many miles (less than 5K per year) in my cars and that is why I decided not to keep making high monthly payments in Porsches. In addition, I wanted to try a hybrid. I can do all my daily driving on the T-8's 25 mile full electric limit and there are free plugins where I live. The car handles great and it is very practical. One more thing, don't be fooled by the Volvo name. The T-8 is very quick 0-60 when driven in the Polestar mode (an option worth the $1,200 price and can be dealer installed since it is a software upgrade). Great sleeper car to beat Audis, Mercedes and BMWs. I hope this helps your buying or leasing decision.

Volvo excellence

2022 Volvo S60 B5 Inscription 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric mild hybrid 8A)

This is our third Volvo S60 and it is a winner in every way. The engineering is superb, the design elegant and unique, and the materials exceptional. It is a gorgeous vehicle inside and out. The interior is thoughtfully put together and the leather seats are unrivaled in comfort and design. In a segment where BMW, Audi, MB, VW, and the Asian sedans are everywhere on the roads, the Volvo stands out, and it is awesome to have a car that does not look like it was mass produced. The B6 powerplant is a definite improvement over the T5. The engine revs up more smoothly, and accelleration is even and responsive. Steering is light and sure and the driving aids instill high confidence in all road conditions. This is truly a luxury sedan with performance engineering. I cannot understand why this is not the most highly-rated and most sought after sedan in the segment. I have owned BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, and several Saabs (still can't forgive GM for killing off Saab) and this Volvo is hands down the best of all the elements the other cars offer. The only thing that could be better is if Volvo offered the S60 in a fully loaded trim with a manual transmission. Another selling point for us is that the S60 was manufactured in South Carolina, so even though it is "foreign sourced" automobile, American workers put it together and earn a decent living doing so. And if you live anywhere near Tampa, Florida, take your business to Volvo of Tampa. A family-owned dealership with incredible staff.
