STOP LOOKING FOR ANOTHER CAR

I actually have had a number of minor problems with my car.....where do I begin. Front bumber paint peeling. Gas cap did not close. Replaced windshield. 3 burnt out headlights. Faulty trim on drivers door at bottom. Bump in dash, replaced entire dash.Ummmm......what else...replaced window trim on rear passenger window. So why do I love my car? Well it's said that Volkswagon owners (many of them) don't mind the problems because the trade off (for me anyway) is pure driving pleasure for the price. If you really love to drive and feel good when you drive then you can't go wrong. Want more info one on one or advice write to me. Hatstoyou@videotron.ca Afridezaing.

After reading so many negatives on the reliability of the '02 Passat, I'm just waiting for something to happen. Eight months and 7000 miles later the only thing that has me annoyed is the right front speaker crackling (Monsoon system). After the first service, the mileage has climbed to 26-27 in the city! If you want to feel the power of turbo, try the manual - it is just awsome.

Really like my new GLX 4Motion but the MPG is a shock after getting 28+ in my Saturn SC2.

Awesome car, despite Monsoon woes

We bought our Fresco Green 1.8T in June and fight over who drives it every weekend--love it! Only glitch is Monsoon radio decided to die today, and according to the B5 website it's a common problem. Regardless, the styling and driving feel of our Passat is second to none. Looked at 02 Altima, Sebring, 300M, Galant (our old car). No contest.

I investigated and found that the Passat was rated #1 in its class and I can see why. I was worried about the horsepower with the four cylinder turbo, but I am not disappointed. The appearance of the car looks as if I spent a fortune and the inside is as comfortable and stylish as any other car on the road. I will never buy anything but VW again!! This car is perfect for a small family or a single person. Dah, Dah, Dah...
