Awesome Sporty Hatch !

GTI mk7 is a super nice hatchback. Very sporty if you want it to be and still comfortable enough to be a commuting option. Engine is awesome, DSG is excellent. Very funny car to drive. Interior design is very classic and I love it. Commands are very intuitive and ergonomic placed.

Bought Used but looks and smells new

I've now owned my GTI for 6 months. The car is amazing on several levels and winter is finally gone so I've been able to get it out on some winding roads, where the GTI shines. It corners fairly flat and is easy to place in turns and I can usually hit the apex and power out with plenty of get up snd go. I don't push speed on highways because that really isn't the GTI's reason foe existence. It is a great road car and the more interesting the road, the more fun the GTI becomes. But, it also a great daily driver, the leather seats are comfortable, very supportive, and adjustable to pretty much any frame. It has been one of my top 5 cars and I've owned a Porsche, several BMWs - including a M3, Acuras, Infinitis, and several other 2 seaters. The GTI gives you the driving pleasure of those 2 seaters but also practicality of rear seats and great storage room. I'll be keeping the GTI for a long while.

First GTI, very impressed

Leased S with performance package. Car is solid and great as every day driver. Always has power when you need it. Torque in every gear hard to believe. Very thoughtful touches in entertainment and information available in trip computer. End if my 3 year less, nothing but routine maintenance and a set of wiper blades

Great car in every way

Study packages carefully. This performance hatchback is a joy to drive, but can be outfitted with tech, lighting, convenience and safety features equal to the best 2018 luxury cars—with no sacrifice to the handling and performance.

Fun Drive.

It's a hotrod disguised as a little station wagon. It's hard to get in and out of, but once in, it's fun to drive and gets good gas mileage.

Try it You will like it

Have the car about 3 weeks now and still torn between manual and the dsg. This is my first automatic type car in 20 years, to me the car seems to shift a little too early in traffic but is easily corrected using the paddle shifters. Interior is excellent and has a very high quality feel, entertainment system works well so far and the sound quality of the Bluetooth and stereo is very good. I have put about 1500 miles on it so far and all components function as expected. The option to use regular fuel is a benefit compared to other cars in this performance range. One of the few things I was disappointed in was the mesh sunroof cover. It seems to let heat pass through into the passage compartment, other than that all seems good at this time.

If you are looking into buying a gti do it right away for the price nothing beats it. Great car, safe, reliable and best of all its pretty quick.

OMG, what a joy!

So, I bought this for my 16 year old boy last month. I drove it home about 300 miles for him & I loved it. I have to admit that I, the wise and disciplined father, had difficulties staying at the speed limit and behaving on the road. The car was ASKING for more. It is meant to be driven hard. I am starting to worry about my boy driving this thing so young. Well, I can always confiscate it, right?!

GOOD VALUE, Luxury , speed and economy. I purchased the car as a CPO from a lease from a VW dealer, so far put on 4k miles only issue was with the drivers side power window 1 touch was replaced under warranty. . The DSG transmission is a little quirky with the downshifts when coming to a stop and taking off. The only other problem is traction off the line if in sport mode...

Fun to Drive Hot Hatch

I love my VW GTI. I had one when I was in college. Bought another one as a middle aged guy reliving my youth. It’s fast, agile, and nimble. The only negative is it has a small tank. I have to fill it often, which isn’t always a good thing given current gas prices.

Try to NOT punch the gas before the 1,000 mile break-in period is done. Easier said than done, because the turbo has pointy little horns! Practical four door hatchback means I use my SUV less than ever. Fuel economy rivals my 2009 Honda Civic using 87 octane gas, not 93 required of a Civic Si or Subaru WRX. (Boo!) It may not have as much power as they do, but it has plenty enough! This saucy ride (in red) demands lots of attention and many admirers! Water pump replaced under warranty less than two years in with approx. 22k miles, so a minor hiccup there. Looking to switch up to a new one with the 7 year warranty. The Pirellis give a nice ride, but they need to be replaced soon, as treadwear is significant.

The Autobahn package and performance package combined with the hatchback design, make this the perfect car. It's a sports car that can fit people and belongings. Great for road trips and trips to the grocery store. It has a long list of convenience features.
