The blunt truth

2022 Honda Ridgeline
There is a LOT to really like about the Ridgeline, and a few things Honda really needs to correct.
First, the good. The sheer utility of this "Not A Real Truck" or "NART" is truly off the charts. The bed is wide enough to fit 4x8 plywood or drywall - compare that to any other mid-size truck. The in-bed trunk is an amazingly useful benefit that nothing else has. The dual action … tailgate makes accessing eithe rbed or trunk much easier. The interior is spacious, with lots of storage. The rear seats fold up and out of the way exposing a cavernous second row. The drivign dynamics are great, fuel mileage is good, visibility is very good. All in all, there is a LOT to really love here.
And the bad... Honda serious cheaped out on the infotainment head unit. Voice recognition/navigation are terrible. Apple Carplay integration freezes the unit regularly. The wireless charging pad is barely functional, for a few seconds before wigging out. At the higher trim levels, there's no excuse not to have rain sensing automatic wipers. If I'm really nitpicking, the transmission could shift a bit faster, especially between reverse and drive. 3 point turns make you appear to drive like a grandma.
All in all, I'm happy with my purchase, and I'd rather have the Ridgeline than any other mid-size truck, but Honda's really missing the mark on a few quality of life items.
