When I got this car, I fell in love with it. I’ve had it only a year. I have a TRD Sport 4x4. The mpg on it is very impressive for a truck, I love driving it. It’s agile, not too big and also not too small. Parking in right spots is very easy. I can do everything in this truck that I could do in a full-size. I can even tow my horse and one horse trailer in it. I have had no issues with this vehicle in any way! It’s a wonderful truck! I would recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for a truck to buy.

250K miles and still going strong!

I bought this brand new in May 2015 and as of this review, I've 253K miles. Solid truck. My only gripe is the underpowered 4 cylinder, however that's the same reason this vehicle should last a half a million miles barring any major accident. Sure, it's a dog but what do I expect? I didn't buy a Supra. My other vehicle is an FJ with a V6, and you feel the difference in power but it is what it is.

Look for garage door opener. They updated a lot of features but left out garage door opener on the TRD SPORT. Seemed the separated out packages and made it specific options to that package...i.e. No leather or electric seats in Sport but is available in limited edition. Enthuse isn't the best either but beats Cadillac's Que system. GMC dominates in that department. Toyota needs more available options in their truck line. My 2nd Tacoma Sport.

I leased a TRD Off Road, a trim which Edmunds doesn’t recognize as a trim for some reason, so the TRD Pro is the closest to my experiences. It was great at everything I needed, living in snowy mountains. Great 4-wheel drive system, A-Trac and DAC were great additions for some off road situations. It could tow well without any power issues. I am surprised by the Edmunds review saying the brakes are soft. One thing I liked, and something everyone else who drove my Tacoma remarked on, was how good and responsive the brakes were. I like a really quick uptake on the brakes - some would say they’re sensitive. I’ve never heard them described as soft by anyone though. Bad test vehicle for Edmunds probably. For the negatives - the cruise control needed better computer mapping for situations. Going uphill and it would use too much power sometimes, and going downhill it wouldn’t downshift and hold gear. Other cars I’ve driven didn’t have this problem, but other Tacoma’s I drove did. Cup holders for the front were also weirdly placed/arranged.
