This is my 3rd Rav Limited Hybrid in Pearl. To break up the boredom each had a different interior from tan to gray to now ? Cinnamon (i think that's what they called it. I liked all the Ravs, a 07, a 10 and now a 16 but by far this new one is the best. First interior comfort, seats are WAY better than the SpongeBob square seats on the 10. Wish they had power on passenger seat and ventilated for both but at least they're comfortable and the heat is 2 levels, the 10 was just on or off. Tunes are very good, again much improved from 10. Climate control works great but I found the 07 and 10 worked well. Headlights are powerful and the auto on and auto high beam work well. Ride is nice and steering is light. Quiet in city and on the highway. Safety gadgets all work well but wish radar cruise was full speed. I traded a Nissan Murano and the full speed radar cruise worked excellent even in stop and go traffic. Gas mileage impressive with some trips of 40 mpg routinely. Best 2 trips, city trips with a lot of EV mode was ~50 mpg. One night got off the highway, stopped at grocery store. Trip of about 5 miles from store to home 71 MPG. I guess battery was well charged after the highway trip and the trip home mostly on level terrain. Around view camera excellent, if you ruin your rims it'll be because you're not paying attention. There is one concern, seems like when it's cold out and the engine it not up to operating temp it seems like it's revving at increased RPM presumably to speed the warm up. Problem is that increased RPM SEEMS like it is engaging the transmission a bit and it does make for some unusual vibration. This goes away when the engine is warm. Of course hard to assess RPM as there is no tachometer. As I mentioned I had a new Nissan Murano Platinum which was exceedingly comfortable and although it drove nice I just found it a bit too big for me. Plus always was intrigued by hybrid and with the new Rav could get back to a smaller whip around vehicle and go electric, it's been fun. Lastly would like to test drive a Lexus NX and see what the differences are. Will update as matters present.

It is truly different from the non-Hybrid RAV4. The hybrid is built on the Lexus power train. The ride is smoother, quieter, and better pickup. This is my 3rd Toyota in a row; never purchased two of the same manufacturer, let alone 3! The first 2 were Prius and the Prius V. They have a clock visible at all times. The RAV4 has the clock show only on the Home Page. I have not sat in the rear seats but do like that they are bench seats not bucket. There is only one USB port; at this level I expected two ports. That said, it has a cigarette lighter so I am using a USB connector through the lighter. I had purchased a new MP3 player; trouble installing, returned it and purchased an iPod. The iPod connected seamlessly. I wish they kept the CD-player - purchased an external player and hooked it up. Not all my music fits on the iPod. Fuel economy is as stated on the sticker so expectations were set appropriately. I added the Technology package. Amazing 360 degree view. Used it getting out of a parking space where cars were parked haphazardly...much easier. Due to the hybrid battery being stored in the cargo area, you lose a couple of cubic feet of space AND the fold-down back seats don't fold down completely so the floor is higher at one end ... becomes an issue when loading say a bureau that fits in the back but not in the front area of the cargo space. Can't speak to resale value nor maintenance costs as it is a brand new car. Navigation - in both of the Prius cars, when traveling to parts unknown and with the music playing loudly, when there was an upcoming turn, there would be a loud ding and the directions would be given. Then when the turn came, there would be two loud dings. Now, the dings are very quiet and I can't seem to find out how to increase the volume. That said, the sound system is better than the 2012 Prius V Level 5. In the Prius, I needed to add a sub-woofer. Don't need it for the RAV4. Rochester, NY is known for its winters and tonight's weather is no exception - icy roads. The car handled beautifully with the intuitive all-wheel drive. I purchased the technology package as well as the protective parts...door jambs, side moldings, front film, all of them. Purchased at Dorschel. Very happy driving this car!

It is a great SUV in it's class, with no comparable vehicle, when you're looking at performance/ utility/ gas mileage. Everything good that everyone says about it is true. A couple of shortcomings, in my opinion, with the Safety Sense: Lane Departure Warning can become annoying in city driving, with all the other safety features present, you may not know why it's beeping at you (something serious like pedestrian crossing?) so I'd rather have it turned off. If you turn it off, you can't enable Cruise Control, which I use in city/ suburban driving mostly to stay out of trouble (limiting my speed). Cruise Control has 2 functioning modes, with or without radar (classic). With the radar on, it will keep a distance to the car in front of you. But: in city driving, more often than not, a car will enter your lane at a smaller distance then what the radar is set to (default is 50 yards), which will result in automatic, unexpected and not exactly gentle braking, with a best case scenario that the driver in a car following you will wonder what got into you, while he has to hit the brakes as well. That's what made me stop using it in city driving completely (afraid of being rear ended) or use it with caution (disconnect when a vehicle is about to enter the same lane). Now, to switch the cruise control to classic (non-radar), you have to keep a button pressed for more than 1.5 seconds, and the "radar ready" display (or something like that, the default mode) will disappear on the display, making you think you might have switched it off completely (that's what it used to do to me). But it's just the radar mode, and now you can engage the classic cruise control by pressing the same button shortly. The display will show you, though, what the current cruise control mode is set to. So, if you're like me and do like to use the classic cruise control around town with no lane departure warning, every time you turn the car on, you have to: 1) switch lane departure warning on 2) switch the cruise control to non-radar 3) switch lane departure off again. Something else that bothers me: lumbar support is only available in the top trim (Limited). Very annoying! And: there is no proper resting place for the left foot. The length of the spot is too short, unless you're a size 6 (I'm just guessing), your foot will only fit with your toes curled up. Other than that, no complains... I'll keep this review up to date.

I traded in my 2015 RAV4 Limited with a 2016 RAV4 Hybrid Limited last month. Felt more balanced. Very comfortable. It seemed there is better suspension. It is my first time to be driving a hybrid, and I can see the difference in mileage as well as the power. In choosing the Limited, I considered the safety tech package. In wanting to be more green, I chose the hybrid. Bird's eye view was supposed to be standard in the limited hybrid. Before I made the purchase, I tried to "build" my RAV4 hybrid limited on the toyota website to get a sense of how much it would cost. Both their website and the brochure say the BIrd's Eye View was standard in Hybrid Limited. I was so disappointed when my car did not have the Bird's Eye View nor heated steering wheels (both are in the manual specific to 2016 RAV4 Hybrid Limited, and my purchase was for the top of the line). Most other features exceeded my expectations.

My first hybrid vehicle appears to be a home run. I've always been impressed with Toyota, trading in my 2006 Highlander for this high tech beauty. My main reason for trading my Highlander was the new safety & technology innovations. I did a lot of homework before this purchase, Edmunds.com was a huge help. Living in NYC gas prices are always high, the hybrid will save me getting gouged at the pump less often. I agree with others who mentioned the mpg rating is understated, I'm closer to 37 mpg plus. If you watch your Eco mode, use cruise control, etc the mpg really add up. The safety features really are impressive. Somebody cut me off and the front end sensor beeped, I heard the beep a second before I saw the character, so it works as advertised. I've only had the RAV4 3 weeks so time will tell.Based on Toyota's history the odds are good this vehicle will be a keeper. The pricing made the hybrid an easy decision, use to be several thousands dollars more expensive. The limited had all the safety upgrades included. One last note and I hope it's not misunderstood, but the Toyota hybrid is made, assembled, etc in Japan. It's not a knock on anybody, just prefer a vehicle made in one place, not 2 different plants. A non hybrid rav 4 can be assembled in Canada or other US plants. You can tell by the Vin #, if it starts with a Jt that's Japan. Regardless of the vin# all Toyota plants have excellent quality control.
