Great Vehicle

I have had the Prius for one year and still love it. First time I have ever bought a car because I wanted it, rather than needed it and am so glad I did. Driving is fun again and I feel that I am as environmentally correct as I can be while using gas. My mileage averages between 45/52, driving normally, depending upon where I am driving, and it has plenty of get up and go when I need it. It is a solid, comfortable ride and very easy to drive. I have back problems and can drive/ride in this vehicle for long periods of time with no problem. Toyota should hire me as a spokesperson as I am always touting its many virtues.

Waited 8 months for deliver - bought it with all the options. Never fell in love with a car before & I've always owned good running cars (Acura Legend, Toyota Avalon XLS, etc.). Only item I don't know yet is how long the batteries will last - they're warranteed for 80,000 - hope they last longer. I keep my cars well over 200,000 miles. I own it almost 18 months now & have over 33000 miles on it. Averaging 48 mpg city & highway combined.

This is the first "new" car we've ever purchased, and it was well worth the (six-week) wait. Driving this Prius makes you feel young again, hip, and enviromental -- all at the same time! Surely, Toyota needn't continue to take "a loss" on the cost of the technology in this baby. I would've paid a lot more and waited longer, had I known what a gem this would be!

Have had my Prius for a month and a half. Great ride after the learning curve. This has got to be the wave of the future. Right around 47-48 miles per gallon so far (new car and winter driving).

Got Lucky

I was a Legacy owner for 14 years and swore to buy another Legacy. When we were car-shopping after my car died suddenly the Toyota dealer had a Prius in the showroom, a model with all the bells and whistles (someone reneged on the deal, I got lucky). I had wanted a 'green' car, but didn't think I would buy one this time. The Prius is an absolute dream. I live in a hilly state and don't do much city driving, but I'm still getting 44mpg. After loving a manual all these years, I instantly got used to the Prius' controls: park, reverse, drive. It runs like a dream, makes a little more noise going uphill, but it's still quieter than my old standard. If you can buy a Prius, DO IT
