This car is just plain fun to drive. I can't ever remember having as much fun with a car. AND it so much fun passing all of the gas stations. Best mileage in a tank so far has been 54 mpg,

Prius - It could be better.

Engine noisy during acceleration. A rattle developed in the dash and the service department cannot seem to fix it. The Prius has a small fuel tank (only 11 gallons) - which means that the driving range is not far - though gas mileage is good. The Honda Civic Hybrid has a standard tank (13 gallons) and much longer range. If I had it to do again I would go for the Civic or no hybrid at all.

Disappointed

Totally disappointed with the gas mileage. We are lucky to even get 40 miles per gallon. For the price we paid, could be in a more upscale car and still get respectable gas milage.

Approximately 8000 miles into it, and I still like to drive it. It is quiet and smooth running, enough power to keep out of the way of the SUVs and trucks. I have the GPS and keyless entry. I like the GPS, but the keyless entry is iffy. Mileage is about 75% of advertised, 45 mpg in summer, 42 in winter, with mixed driving. Does have a problem with stiff breezes (notice I didn't say gale force winds)and the rear window isn't easy to see through with the bar going across the lower half. The windshield wipers are childlike and cute. Cruise control awkward. Dash lighting poor. Cup holders don't work with coffee cups or mugs, just fits fast food drink cups. Wiper controls in poor location.

More than expected

I was expecting great gas mileage, I was expecting legendary Toyota quality. I was not expecting the power that this sub 100 horsepower engine put out. Very quick acceleration considering it has something like 73 HP. Very good cargo space, seats folding flat is a great plus as well. Car drives very smooth, and handling is responsive. Car seems to have a very light but noticable shift/transition from electric power to gas. Overall a great car, I would rate a 8.5 out of 10. Gas mileage is amazing and get up and go is more than adequate. Would recommend.
