Navigation or not

I like this car-I don’t love it. Can’t believe my 10 year old Acura had a map display without being plugged into a phone but this doesn’t. Also, the wireless phone charger is extremely on phone placement so rarely use. This car drives well and is comfortable but to me, seriously lacking on user friendliness.

Terrible seats and no navigation

I bought a XLE and hated the seats. They are terribly uncomfortable even on short 30 minute trips. And there is no navigation! So I traded my 2022 XLE on a 2022 limited because the dealer said the seats were better and it comes with navigation installed. Well, the seats still suck and the navigation is not easy to use. So now I'm back to plugging my phone in to use carplay for voi e activated navigation. What a let down. Toyota should be ashamed for releasing this model. It's sure to hurt their reputation. I am not happy with this car either

Very unwhelming

The car is fine. Build quality is fair in the sense that body panel lines don't always line up exactly even after adjustment. Feels like a marshmallow to drive. Transmission isn't geared very well for hills such that it drives in a lower gear, causing the engine to run at higher RPMs than it really should. Manually shifting to the next higher gear causes the car to bog down. The fuel economy isn't great. Had a performance SUV before this that got better mileage. The fuel tank is also on the small side for a car of this size with this bad of fuel economy. Lastly about the fuel... this car has literally the worst notification of low fuel I have ever seen. This car will briefly notify you only once you have about 13 miles left in the tank. I say briefly because the notification is 1. very subtle, and 2. will automatically disappear from the main display after about 10 seconds. 13 miles is a horrible time to notify you that you need gas. I've never owned a car that waited until it was literally almost on E before displaying the low fuel notification. All previous cars I have owned either notified at about 50 miles left, or if they weren't very advanced cars, they notified just below 1/4 tank, or just before 1/8 of a tank. I spoke with the dealer about this, and it is a common complaint, yet there is nothing that can be done to change when it notifies of low fuel. It's a common complaint on Toyota Highlander boards as well. My take away from this is that Toyota doesn't really care. If you want a car with lots of space (e.g. 7 seats), you could do worse, but you could also do better. Overall, I'd say that the quality doesn't match the price point (Platinum), and spending a little more can get you a better car elsewhere.

Lady In Red

Had given up on ever finding a 22 Highlander with the features I wanted this year, and was about to go with the Subaru Ascent. Within a couple of days, debating my color choices; I received a call from my local Toyota dealer letting me know they had received a shipment. I raced to the lot, and was going into the showroom to negotiate a price on a silver LTD. Then I mentioned that I thought they had a red one, but didn’t recall see it on the lot. “It’s because we have it in here!” And there it was. Christmas fever took over when I saw that beautiful shade that varied from dark cranberry to a bright cherry red according to how the light hit it. I then realized it was the Platinum Edition and told the salesman there was no point in me tormenting myself, because it was more than I planned on spending. “Don’t give up! Let me see what I can do!” And the next thing you know….I’m a lady driving home in a car that I can actually spot in a sea of gray and white cars in every parking lot. I really can’t say enough good things about this vehicle. I’m barely 5 ft.tall and worried that it might be too large for me to maneuver; especially parking. The birds eye view camera assist has proven to be a game changer! Best driving and most comfortable ride I’ve ever had. And the most amazing part- my husband agrees with me!!

As an older driver, this vehicle will make me safer on the road with all the safety festires. Styling is the best yet for the Highlander series. Have owned or leased a Toyota Avalon, a Camry, s 4 Runner, 2 RAV-4s and this is our Fifth Highlander. They just kerp getting better.
