New owner - V6 AWD Base HL
Could not be more pleased with this purchase. The Highlander is our second Toyota purchase this year [we bought a Sienna in February] and glad we went with the HL. We considered many other vehicles: Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder and the Outback wagon to name a few. None stacked up to the Highlander, plus we got it at invoice.
Glad I bought a Toyota
This SUV is big enough without being too big, rides great, and has the visibility and room you expect in an SUV. I bought this to replace a '97 Ford Exploder and there is no comparison. It will pull 3500 lbs. (just like the Ford) which is more than plenty. I also looked at a Pathfinder, and the Toyota is superior in every way except towing capacity. You owe it to yourself to test drive the Highlander. I also considered a Honda Pilot, but there were few available (all at MSRP++) and the dealers wanted deposits on a car they couldn't deliver for a month.

I love my Toyota
I have owned alot of vehicles over the years as I usually upgrade every two years.I have never had a vehicle that I have enjoyed driving as much as this one. I love the way it handles especially in the snow. I live where we get an average of 120 inches of snow a year. I have had no problem with this vehicle on the snow or wet roads.
Damm Near Perfect... I'll Keep It!
Solid feeling body. No rattles. Smooth, silent, drive-train. Ample power. Pleasurable engine/door closing sounds. Right size outside/inside dimensions. Handy in tight parallel parking situations. Excellent foul weather handling. Seats are long term comfortable. Running close to EPAs mileage estimate. Well placed armrests. Few, if any blind spots. Good mirrors. Flat floors! Rear seats recline. Ivory interior hard to keep clean. No change holder. Center console storage awkwardly arranged. Wind rush at highway speeds with any window/sunroof open. No power passenger seat. Few manual seating adjustments. No memory settings. No shelf for cargo area.
Unknow Defect
I would like to say I really enjoy my Highlander and it is really a pleasure to drive in all types of weather. I was truly impressed when I tried to make it go out of control on an icy patch of road in a parking lot no matter how hard I tried it had a mind of its own not to let me. The CSV is your Co-pilot and really assist to maintain control at all times.Traction? all of those Hummers and 4x4's look out this one will keep up with you.
