SMackey
The Highlander does not handle like a typical SUV it handles more like a larger car model. The cruise control, widshiled wipers and lights are all at your finger tips without taking your hands off the steering wheel.
Great ride
What a well designed and built car. I say car because it does not ride at all like a SUV. It is fast and nimble and gets incredible gas mileage. I just turned in a Chevy Tahoe on an expired lease. To be honest GM had to send someone from another state to pick it up because no dealer would accept it back! No lie, no one wanted the pile of junk even though they were under contract to accept the vehicle at lease end. I will be buying more toyota vehicles in the future. Can't say that about GM.

Highly Recomend Highlander to families
Great vehicle for the money, esp if your looking to purchase instead of lease. We bought the 4cyl because it drove almost identical to the 6cyl and it was way better on gas. Ohh lets not forget that the 4cyl has a timing chain compared to the 6cyl which has a timing belt which means cost savings in the future. We did have leather and a towing package added to our model.
High praise for the Highlander
In a word, a fantastic car! The ride is remarkably smooth, the V6 quick and powerful (there IS a big difference between the 4 and 6 cyl.), and the interior is intelligently designed, esthetically pleasing, and very comfortable. In 35 years of driving, absolutely our favorite! We can hardly wait to take it on our next road trip.
I love my new Highlander!
I absolutely love the new Highlander. As for reviewers who complain of wind noise on the freeway or cheap feeling materials, I have no idea what they're talking about or what type of car they are used to driving. The car is quiet, well constructed, feels very solid, thoughtfully designed, and handles well. I know of several people who own the RX-300, and this car feels just as good for a lot less money. The sales/support from the dealership has been excellent, and they made purchasing the car a pleasant experience. We also looked at buying the MDX, but overall found the Highlander to be a better value and have absolutely no regrets.
