Used 2002 Toyota Highlander Consumer Reviews
Typical Toyo
Bought it, without telling the wife. After the fallout, let her have a long drive and, well. Lovely car. Manly truck. Smoooooth powertrain. Excellent visibility.
Highlander sets the standard bar "high"
Highlander looks very elegant from outside as well as inside. The VVTI V6 engine is really peppy and powerful. At low speeds @15 mph or so, there is an ocassional rattle type sound coming from the steering wheel column. At highway speeds the wind noise is high.

I like this SUV
Comes loaded with lots of standard equipment, does not need many options. 2002 model has full console standard between front buckets which was not on 2001 model. Came equipped with optional Privacy Glass, roof rack, running lights, aluminum wheels, cargo and floor mats and keylees entry. Has wonderful ride and handling. Options are on pricey side. Paid $27,200 complete with NJ sales tax and fees.
A total new impression of boring Toyota
I testdrove both V6 and 2.4 4cyl models, it showed the difference on a demanding hills, but Toyota did a good job tuning this 2.4l engine, it roars a bit louder, but the power does not drain out at all. So I went ahead and bought the cheaper model. The cabin is impressively quiet crusing on the road, the interior is roomy, nicely designed with a lot of useful storage rooms, and the comfortable driving position is easily found with every button easily reached.
Awesome Vehicle
I absolutely love my Highlander. The smooth ride and performance is incredible. I test drove the competition before making my purchase and this is by far the best ride. Taking Toyota's reputation for excellence into consideration, this is a vehicle you're sure to love.
