2025 Toyota 4Runner Consumer Reviews

Looking Forward to the 2026 Fixes
We were fortunate to find my wife a 2024 Ltd trim as she doesn't put on many miles so we'll have it a long time. I bought the '25 4Runner TRD premium that reminds me of the former TRD Sport. The fuel economy improvement of the '25 is offset by the required premium fuel cost. Ride quality is a bit rougher than the '24 Ltd trim. Build quality is improved from last year. Off-roading is factored in more with the '25 4Runner line up. I seldom buy the 1st year of a new generation so I have been in touch with my dealer for ordering a '26. If resale stays strong I should get a good deal. Just had my 20Kmi service and a majority of the bill was covered by Toyota and my dealer. Interior design and layout makes it feel roomier than previous generation. I test drove the new Land Cruiser as it's price over lapses the new 4Runner but the exterior design of the '25 4Runner is sharper IMO of previous generation 4Runner and new Land Cruiser. My 4Runner shares many features with the Tacoma and I'm on the fence about the I-force Max 4-cyl. I don't regret my purchase and may keep it as resale numbers will determine how long. Thank you for reading my review !

Disappointed 2025 Toyota 4 Runner Limited
I do not like the engine/transmission with the 2.4 L Turbo hybrid engine. Initial acceleration is jumpy with a hard noticeable shift of gears with acceleration. I want my 6 cylinder back. The engine was quieter and the shifting gears were smoother. The seats in the older 4 runners were more comfortable. The interior quality now is just average with the exception of the large infotainment screen. If I had been able to test drive this more I would have kept my previous vehicle. I do not think it is worth $64,000.

Loving my new Toyota 4Runner Sport Premium!!
Traded my 2020 4Runner Off-road Premium for new 2025 4Runner Sport Premium and best decision I made! Steering, ride, handling, all the safety features are so much better than my 2020. Gas mileage much better also. Love new interior with bigger infotainment system and especially love automatic lift gate! Looks great, drives great and thrilled with it!

ORP Hybrid
Have 1700 miles so far on a 2025 ORP hybrid. I went back and forth between this 4Runner and a Land Cruiser. The land cruiser was nice , but I found I liked the ride of the 4Runner better. It felt more planted on the road, while the Land Cruiser was more floaty. I find the seats in the 4Runner very comfortable on long drives , and the hybrid power to be plenty , even in the mountains or steep hills.

2025 Platinum in Heritage Blue
Yes, it costs a lot of money for a 4Runner. However, it is the most potent and luxurious 4Runner ever built on the assembly line. I've had several 4Runners since 1988, and I have always loved the 4Runner style. I traded in my 2020 Limited Nightshade because I did not like the 20" wheel limited to a 245. The new Platinum remedies that with the 20" wheel with a 265 and lots of room. I also didn't have blind spot monitors in the 2020. The upgrade in all tech and safety features is stunning. The handling, the sporty, refined look, the dark blue seats, and on and on. Best 4Runner I have ever owned, and I loved that 88', and loved the 04' with the V8. But, this 2025 Platinum is the best I've been in.
