My Dream Car/SUV!

1parkpointer, 02/11/2023
2022 Subaru Outback Limited XT 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
5 of 5 people found this review helpful

My last SUV was a 1998 Chevy Blazer LT. It was comfortable although not problem free for the 75K that I owned it. My 2022 Subaru Outback XT however, is a Dream Machine. Granted several years have passed, but Subaru's All-Wheel drive and turbo'd 2.4 Liter 4-cylinder certainly is a game changer with power to spare and doing so just sipping fuel. Somewhat like the Blazer before it, there's seating for five, creature comforts were sparse on the Blazer, not so for the Outback which has so many that impress me. Like heated seats, heated steering wheel, really powerful radio, navigation, cellphone connectivity, Eye-Sight with adaptive steering, cruise control with active descent and adjustable distance monitoring, water-tech floor coverings, heated windshield wiper rests, active headlights for road following, etc. The ride though a bit stiff offers comfortable seating, so long journeys are pleasant enough. Remote starting was not an option and I really enjoy getting into a warm vehicle here in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire this winter. Even though I still own a pickup (2004 Chevy 1500 with 331K miles on it, which is daily driven) I find myself coming home after work and getting into the Subaru for a leisurely 30 to 60 drive most nights. I've owned the Outback since the middle of October 2022, and have roughly 8300 miles on it so far. Awesome ride for sure!

Could be a great car

pros: Smooth ride, pretty quiet interior, nice seats, sound system is good. cons: HORRIBLE dash system, get RID OF the Screen! you need all the safety stuff because your always looking down. Cruise control, have to look down to set it to something other than 5 MPH increments, studpid! Seat heater, can't turn it on from the screen, have to hit it, open another screen and then click again. Air flow - why on earth do I need to see a picture of how the air will flow in the car? I KNOW what the icons mean on the buttons, make them MUCH larger! Inside storage - to small of a storage bin in the dash and then you block it with USB ports, what a dumb design. Why no storage on the left side of the steering wheel? It also makes no sense to have the screen so low on the dash, again making you look down. Have it up top like the rest of the cars where it makes sense, keep your eyes on the road. Ironically you put the eye scan thing on the car, yeah it should yell at you when your eyes are trying to adjust stuff that should be easy. Get rid of that horrible dash tablet design and you will have a much better car. If they could get rid of that I would be perfectly happy with the car. I have 3,000 miles on mine and while I won't get rid of it for this reason, I am not sure I would buy another one.

Outback Wilderness

Edmund Karam, 08/26/2021
2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
59 of 80 people found this review helpful

I did a lot of research for a vehicle that was great for camping adventures, reliable, safe and had decent MPG. I decided on the 2022 Outback Wilderness, it checked every box. However, after owning the vehicle for over a month and almost 1,500 miles, I'm getting averaging 15mpg city, 17.5 highway and 16.5 combined. Before you go and start telling me that I have a Lead Foot, gears installed, tire pressure, temperature, road type I will tell you that none of the above apply. I am very calm driver, I don't gun it, don't drive past 7 miles over speed limit. I've owned over 20 vehicles from 4 cylinders to V8s. All of them have been within +/- 2-3 miles from the advertised MPG. I feel Subaru has totally misguided consumers by providing false information. I contacted Subaru of America and stated my concerns and asked them to repurchase the vehicle since what they have listed on the window is not accurate, misleading and simply unethical. The vehicle itself is great in every aspect but when it comes to the MPG is horrible. Subaru of America is fully liable for this false advertising.

Subaru Outback piece of crap!

JRC in SLC, 12/05/2022

14 of 18 people found this review helpful

Both my mother and I bought new Subaru Outbacks in the last couple of years. Mine was a 2021. I’d never owned a Subaru but they are everywhere in Utah so I presumed they were good and reliable. Boy was I wrong! I went through 3 windshields in 2 yrs because even if a speck of dust hits the windshield the whole thing cracks. When it cracked just 2 wks after having it replaced I gave up and just decided to live with it cracked bc it takes half a day to get it replaced with the Eyesight recalibration. I have subsequently found out about class action law suits regarding the ridiculously weak windshields. The battery died and required replacement on both my and my mom’s car when only about 2 years old-the over-engineered tech is too much for the factory batteries. The touchscreen interface is ridiculous. Doesn’t respond fast enough. has things hidden in sub-menus (like seat warmers) that should just be push buttons. Sometimes it just decides to not work randomly and the screen will be black for a whole drive (no music, nothing). The heating/cooling system is a mess—it will blow hot air on you for 20 minutes when it’s 95 degrees outside and you have the AC on and it’s set to cool. Not just taking time to cool, but literally thinks it’s cold outside and has the heat blowing on you until it finally figures it out (by which time you’ve already reached your destination). It will not remember what your climate settings were at from when you last drove the car. And it’s like driving in a nanny state. Beeping at you for everything. Beeps incessantly (loud and unpleasant) when you’ve turned your car off and you’re just trying to gather your things to get out. Not all the annoying beeping can be disabled. Never had such an annoying car. Beeps at you to pay attention to the road when you have to interact with the stupid screen. Subaru has taken what was their flagship car and ruined it with the tech and made it unreliable. Stay away. I traded mine in for a Certified Used CRV, which I love. My mom is waiting for her new CRV to come in so she can ditch her Outback

Different Road Feel!

J Freeman, 08/23/2021
2022 Subaru Outback Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
14 of 18 people found this review helpful

Test driving the 2022 was my initial experience with the Global Platform, introduced in the Outback in 2020. The 2022 is quieter than my 2019 Outback Touring 2.5. It may absorb road bumps better, but I felt more “separated” from the feel of the road; not a good thing to me. I had trouble feeling comfortable in the driver’s seat. I do have some issues with my lower back; I couldn’t get the lumbar area of the seat to feel very comfortable. Ventilation in the seat is probably a plus; it was new to me.

Love it! Hate it!

I have a 2022 Outback Premium with 17,000 + miles on it. I LOVE the vehicle except recently I’ve had 3 situations where for no apparent reason the vehicle fails to start after 30 or so minutes of driving following 2 hours being parked. The last time this occurred, I had it towed to the nearest dealership, left it for four days and they did the usual battery analysis and found nothing wrong. After contacting “Subaru Customer Advocacy” it was suggested that I take it to ANOTHER dealership. This was also done with a finding that there was an upgrade that they were able to perform, but no assurance that it was a total fix. Doing additional research, I discovered that Subaru has a fix for the battery charging problem (Subaru BULLETIN 07-213-22R) but refused to implement that fix for me!

Great wagon. Very dog friendly. I know alot of folks are slamming the electronics as out dated and slow, but as a old guy who is not tech savvy I find the tech simple and easy to use, hooked up to phones easily, even with multiple devices. Traded in a Wrangler, so we gave up off road capability for more comfort and all around driving safety.

Biggest piece of junk I've ever owned

Extremely disappointed , 12/11/2022
2022 Subaru Outback Touring XT 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
11 of 14 people found this review helpful

The car had 3-miles on it when I purchased it and I had nothing but problems since day one. There are too many problems to list! I bought a Outlook Touring for all the bells and whistles which is where the main problems lie. The electronics are iffy and work sometimes but not always. The infotainment system randomly shuts off. The collision avoidance system doesn't work consistently. If a car pulls in front of me or I change lanes, the function that should keep me a safe distance behind that car, doesn’t “see” the car. The blind spot monitors work sporadically. The windshield cracked when there was less than 100-miles on the car! The A/C blows cool but then blows warm. IF/when I want to use the lane assist, the car constantly attempts to either drive me into on coming traffic or off the road. The car always warns me to keep my eyes on the road or to keep my hands on the steering wheel. My hands are on the steering wheel and I am watching the road! The navigation system doesn’t function properly. When I say “go to” it says “calling.” Or when I tell it where I want to go it tries to direct me to a different part of the country. Sirius worked for about 5-minutes. The dealership tells me it's Sirius problem; Sirius says it's a dealer issue. Needless to say, I've never really been able to use this. The trunk doesn’t open with a hand swipe or consistently when pushing the button in the back. The car jerks like something is wrong with the transmission. The battery runs down and I can't start the car. There are so many problems with this car. With all the above-listed problems, especially with the safety functions not working properly, I don’t trust the car. This was a brand-new car. Everything should work but doesn't. I've had the car at Subaru so many times it's ridiculous and when I drive home, the problems still persist.

6th Subaru - Outback

Subie_lover, 03/02/2023

I love Subaru, I really do...Until I purchased my 6th Subaru Outback. They have changed the driver's seat, it's now built more like a cockpit seat. Not all drivers are built the same, this seat is not built for all sizes of drivers. The driver's seat attempts to surround the driver's legs like a wedge, this causes pressure points in both the lateral part of the driver's leg as well as a pressure point under the leg on the hamstring. The pressure of the driver's bolster on the right side(driver's leg) creates an unnatural anatomic angle that can cause knee pain and at times a slower response time from gas to the brake. I just drove 955 miles from Michigan to Massachusetts, I had to make frequent stops just to get out of the vehicle and walk off the discomfort. Why are they putting sports car seats into a station wagon? I'm already dreading the drive back to Michigan. I'm seriously considering selling it.

I’ve had the car for 7 months. GPS is worthless. Lacks any intuitiveness compared to the 2017 outback I traded. The electronics suck. Constantly beeping. You tilt your your head and it beeps at you to keep your eyes on road. Had dead battery issues. Faulty wiring harness. Jerky CVT. This is my third Outback and will probably be my last. Oh, the touch screen is a mess.

My wife and I just bought the Subaru Outback premium package 11 and could not be happier with the vehicle. The infotainment works well, the outback drives great and for the price, you can not find a better value. The 2.5 liter engine is not all that fast but the with 33 miles to the gallon, the performance of the AWD and the smoothness or the CVT, I am happy with how this car drives. The infotainment is responsive (maybe not as responsive as an IPad Pro but for a car it works great). Overall, for a 30K vehicle, the great gas mileage, the extra cargo space, the AWD, and the smoothness of the CVT, I would recommend this car to anyone.

The car is great but after 1 year it developed a judder in the rear axle when turning at speed from a complete stop (like a basketball bouncing in the trunk). Car has been at shop for over a month but still waiting on 2 parts to fix the transmission. Avoid at all costs!

Bought in mid august and only have around 1500 miles on it, but overall I’m very impressed. Went with Subaru after owning two fusions (2013, 2016) because of their excellent reputation for reliability and safety. The car is extremely well rounded with a large cargo area in the back (with an all-so-helpful power lift gate!), leatherette seating, heated front and rear seats, and a huge 11.3” info screen in the middle of the dash!

Stranded at 5:00am and Subaru doesn't care

Purchased 2022 Subaru Outback Touring in March of 2022 sight unseen for its dependability and reliability. Waited 6 weeks on the car. 10/31/22 at 5 am I ready for work and the car will not start. Called roadside to tow to nearest dealer approx, 59 miles away. Drove my sisters 2001 Toyota Corolla to work. Tow driver told me this is the second 2022 Outback he towed in this month for a dead battery. 2022's are not yet included in the class action lawsuits for battery and electrical failure. Information leads me to believe it is a failed CAN (controller area network) system. Subaru replaced the battery, but it is only a matter of time before it happens again. Subaru is not a dependable or reliable car. They also refused to bring the car back to me. I wanted to have this car for the next 20 + years but I need a car I can count on. Not junk!

I own a Subaru Outback Wilderness & its less than 6 months old & 6000 miles that experienced a dead battery. The dealer failed to diagnosed the problem & simply recharged the battery. I called Subaru USA & they were also not providing any solutions to my problem. Who knows when my battery is going dead again. Do not buy any Subaru Cars if you can....they suck!

Great car, rides great. Fuel mileage is not as good as onyx xt version. But was told that to start with. Getting 25 highway but brand new. After broken end will be better. Can't wqit to take in out on trails. If you expected to get 33 miles per gallon don't buy this one get the 2.5 L engine. Overall 4.5 out of 5 rating.

We were set to buy a Crosstrek, but because they are all adding a mark up to msrp that car was about $2000 less than the Outback and the gas mileage was not that much better. The Outback is so beautiful and drives so much nicer, the interior is really nice, the best feature to me is the auto lock of doors when you drive off. I hated that the Crosstrek didn’t have that feature. This car is so nice, quiet love the ground clearance and all the bells and whistles it has.

Many user friendly features; both safety and convenience. Two big issues for me are: 1. Sporadic “run away” cruise control”. Dealership couldn’t replicate. Inferred that it was my driving. However this has recurred on nearly every highway trip longer than 50 miles. With cruise set@ 70, vehicle suddenly accelerates to 80+. 2. Battery completed died multiple times over the past two years. First time was day after bringing car home. Luckily it always died in my garage, but inconvenient as we were always trying to leave for an important event. Dealership did finally replace battery with a larger one. Interesting, however that while I was in customer service lounge for several hours during the time they were troubleshooting the problem & then replacing the battery, several other Subaru owners that I met while in the dealership service waiting area reported the exact same issue. Lastly, not really Subaru’s problem- but after driving on the freeway for any longer than 2 hours, my posterior thigh muscles become painfully cramped. I use the heated seat feature & self mass to obtain some relief.

I like my outback touring XT so far. I plan to keep my outback for long time. I had a 2007 Mercedes ML 500 for 15 years, with 260K+ miles. Therefore I need XT for the horse power. I figured it’s better to spend the same money for a reliable, low maintenance costs, fully loaded Japanese car rather than a base model of European car which requires lots of upgrades and high maintenance costs. I like outback requires regular gas. My gasoline expense cut half. I agree about the infotainment system is a bit slow but I figured I can’t compare it to iPad or my cellphone. I set up the way I like before I started driving. I seldom need to change the driving/vehicle setting while driving. I like to use CarPlay than navigation of the system.

Pro's: Extremely comfortable, feels solid and safe, spacious, practical, great interior, amazing in bad weather and rough terrain. The infotainment is much better since the firmware update and finally works with android auto. In general, I really enjoy the driving experience of the car. Con's: Windshield cracked three times in the first 5 months! It hasn't happened in a while but this was frustrating. Safety warnings are irritating but most these can be turned off. The auto brake goes off unnecessarily sometimes. Usually when parallel parking. My passenger seatbelt warning goes off when no one is there. Trunk door stopped opening/closing and had to be repaired. Overall, it has the bones of a great car. 95% of the issues lay with the technology. I do see why people like Subaru's but I don't know if I'd buy one again.

Not too happy with my 2022 Outback Premium

Purchased my 2022 Outback Premium 1.5 years ago. Traded in my 2017 Outback Premium (what a mistake). Few things that I dislike about the 2022 edition: the infotainment touchscreen is very annoying (too large, too many functions that would be easier to use as physical controls, not intuitive, takes few steps to get where you need to go, malfunctioning, and quite frankly unsafe to play with when you drive). Engine (standard 2.5L) - not powerful enough.. interior finishing incl floor mats - feels cheap! We did not have any options back in 2022 (inventory was non-existent) and therefore got what was available at that time. I am really disappointed with decreasing quality of Subaru. My 2017 was by far more solid. I am so unhappy that I am considering switching back to Toyota, Honda or Mazda.

The most frustrating thing is the screen. It is the slowest of any vehicle we have ever owned. The engine is so underpowered. I would give the seats a 3-4. There is a lot of noise when accelerating. I'm 6'5" and for the life of me I don't know how I missed the rear view mirror being in my way. There is a lot I don't see due to the mirror blocking my vision to the front right. I have to hold my head lower to see when going around right turns....and then I get all the alarms. I can be driving a straight road and I still get the alarms (like..keep your eyes on the road)...the whole screen is a total mess! This was our first Subaru and it is also our last.

Flipping great!

I will own nothing but a Subaru for the rest of my life. I have totaled two cars in five months. The first, a Forrester, I hit a deer. The second, an Outback, I filled and totaled. I came down on all four wheels facing the posit direction I came. All I had to show for it was a small cut above my ear from the airbag. The car saved me from serious injury. No one at the scene of my accident could believe I wasn't hurt worse. No bumps, no bruises, not even a headache! My Outback is the safest car I have ever driven. I love its rides, much better than my previous Forrester. It handles great, especially in the wintertime. The interior is very comfortable and has more space than a Rav4 I owned three vehicles ago. The one draw back as many people have mentioned is the info screen. It is a bit burdensome. I have discovered the more I use it, the easier the screen becomes to use. I tend to keep things simple. Oh, and one last thing: after I settled with my insurance company for the Outback I totaled, it was actually valued at more than what I paid for it. Because of this I was able to upgrade to the premium model with even more safety futures, futures I hope I don't need in the future!

Terrible Car that only gets 25 vs 33 MPG HIGHWAY

Disappointed driver, 01/30/2023
2022 Subaru Outback Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT)

I wish I never bought this car. I got it in March of 2022. I thought Subaru was supposed to build good cars but this one definitely didn't pass QA checks. It's got too many problems to list but here are a few: the CVT "stutters" all the time and by that I mean when driving on the highway with cruise control set to 65 mph the transmission frequently jerks I have to fight the "lane assist" to keep the car in my lane as opposed to driving into oncoming traffic. Frequently the function that keeps you from hitting the car in front of you doesn't acknowledge there's a car in front; And other times, the car slams on the brakes for no reason what-so-ever! You have to PAY Subaru for a subscription in order to use the built in functions like remote starting your car that they hype as great features. When the A/C is on, it frequently blows hot air. The car frequently has a dead battery. The sunroof/moonroof doesn’t always close completely. Even though there is a dedicated button for heating or cooling the seats, you have to look down and cycle through several screens to turn on the function. The built in GPS is a joke. The only way it might find a location is if you physically type in the address. I bought this car for the stated MPG and smart systems. Unfortunately the MPG is terrible and many of the functions don't work as they should, in some cases making this car dangerous. On the plus side... The mirrors fold in when you lock the car. Seats are comfortable for short distances Smooth ride except for the jerky transmission

A Disaster and Great at same time

We have had 5 Subaru Limited Outbacks, starting in 2011. Loved the first four. While we basically like this car too, whoever worked on redesigning many of the changes to the interior of the 2022 did a HORRIBLE job. Mostly, the screen. It is horrendous. We have used more cuss words than ever trying to navigate the bizarre screen. It makes driving the car downright DANGEROUS. Other things about the interior are simply just maddening, such as the console storage compartment being located too far back. The glove compartment is a total joke when it come to size and location. I could go on & on. Simply put, it's the MOST user-unfriendly Outback we've owned. We will certainly be much more cautious and knowledgeable if we look at another Outback.

The Outback Premium is a pretty nice car. I especially like the soft suspension system and comfortable seats, as well as pretty good fuel economy and other nice features. I had a 2021 Outback which I sold when I bought this one. I thought the 2022 would have the same features as the previous one. The sales guy gave me that impression. However, it was missing some things like the upgraded rear view mirror. It came with the old fashioned "flip" mirror. I didn't realize this until I had bought the new car. It cost me about $440 to upgrade the mirror so that it had a compass, garage door opener, and automatic dimmer. Also, I was surprised to learn that I was required to purchase for around $500 a 5 year policy to guard against windshield damage. I don't want this coverage, but the dealer forced it on me. I wish the car had an oil life monitor, and there are some other software upgrades I wish they would do. This would include better connectivity to my cell phone without having to plug it in, and not having to go through a menu to adjust the seat heaters. Overall, I like the vehicle, but just saying...

I bought a 2022 Outback touring after totaling a 2020 Acura RDX. It seemed to have most of the same features except 1.Front parking sensors 2. Rain sensing wipers. 3. Heads-up display. So far I found the hands free gate feature unreliable as is the feature that retracts drivers seat upon entry. They work sometimes. The navigation system has the worst speech recognition system I have ever seen. It will NOT recognize any spoken addresses by anyone so far. Subaru replaced the head unit but that didn’t help. Seems to be a common complaint on forums. Front seats are comfortable for short drives but too firm for long trips. It gets great gas mileage at 29 mpg overall and the Subaru dealership is great. Just wish Subaru had spent more time engineering the features like the navigation system integration. The Honda systems incorporated into the Acura work much better hands down. I forgot to mention the incredibly useless extremely LOW resolution backup camera. Seems like Subaru is a decade behind the times with their cameras on the Outback.

I got it in February 2022. Second day dash lit up like a christmas tree. Had it in the shop for 3 days for a fan issue. Not a great start. Since then have had to get the oil pan (i dont go off road just live in new england)resealed and with that 3 more trips (45 mins both ways) for oil sensor going bad by the time i get home. Storage is an issue plus the sensitive safty features. Gas millage isnt great.loved the power, looks awesome and is comfortable as hell for me. Will miss it but not enough to keep me from trading it in.

I’ve had it for 5 days so far and love it! I purchase the black exterior/black interior with moonroof, nav, auto rear gate. It drives smooth and is roomy. Not a deal breaker but there isn’t an arm rest while I’m driving, the center console is too low, if that makes sense. It doesn’t get up to speed on the freeway super fast but it’s better than my Tahoe. I still give it 5 stars.

I bought this Subaru Outback about four months ago after trading in my beloved but overdue Volvo S60. I came back to Subaru, especially the Subaru Outback because as a family, we enjoy the wonders of nature at our cottage; especially camping, hiking, kayaking, boating, swimming and etc. Prior to purchasing my Volvo, I had two prior Subaru’s, a Legacy and an Outback. The Subaru Outback delivered everything I remembered in Subaru, and much more. My wife, the girls, our Labrador, and myself feel safe exploring nature together with the symmetrical AWD, high ground clearance, and fantastic cargo space. My family and I give Subaru an excellent 10/10.

2022 Outback Wilderness Edition

This is my second Outback and my first Wilderness edition. The Wilderness is very cool looking. I like that has higher clearance. I miss - my leather seats. Everything I put on these seats slide. The black cargo mat is cheaper and items fly everywhere in that area also. The get up and go is very strange. There's a period from when you hit the pedal to a couple seconds where you have to bare down harder for it to accelerate. It's got great speed but you have to get there. Most annoying is the lack of storage. They took away the center console space so the driver has nothing but the car door. The gps/navigation is extremely distracting and I've almost gotten in several accidents. Everything is buried and you have to click several buttons. I really miss my one touch map and fan button. What is better is the voice recognition - my 2015 outback didn't really work at all. The seat belt sound is horribly loud and there is one in the back seat! I guess I'll get used to it but you really trade some conveniences for the looks of the Wilderness edition.

Smartest vehicle we've ever owned so far. It's a "cool" wagon since it is actually an SUV. Love how solid it is and all the tech features. And the Touring trim is comparable to Lexus and Acura luxury brands. Plush, genuine leather that is moisture resistant, great climate control and excellent sound system. Fabulous! Subaru is definitely ready for a luxury brand since the Touring trim is already there.

The car is loaded with plastic parts everywhere. What will the parts availability be in 20-30 years. We have the 2.4L turbo engine and have to work real hard to get 25 mpg across west Texas (No hills or accelerating/decelerating). Touch screen is slow to respond. Really regret black interior, it shows dirt easily. It has a nice ride and pretty quiet interior on the highway. Too many safety features that can't be disabled. The seat belt alarm screams loud on the lowest setting. The engine turn off at a stop probably does little to nothing for mpgs, when the light when you accelerate from a stopped engine the engine wear from lack of oil being pumped through the ports promotes engine wear. Brought it back with less than 500 miles due to lower door molding coming off. It is fastened with 2 sided tape. This is an 4wd car, not an SUV.

Highs - great passing power, stylish looks, ample second row head/legroom, Lows - fuel economy, small item storage, no ambient lighting. Overall, the 2022 Wilderness is a great vehicle for just under 40k, especially compared to its top two row competitors in the non hybrid/PHEV segment. The tires alone are worth price upgrade from Onyx XT. Seat comfort and position especially for drivers with long legs is excellent. The Wilderness is a great highway cruiser, a bit noisy, but that problem can solved purchasing the touring model with more sound insulation. Sound system is fine for me, with a more power sound system again offered in the touring model. The infotainment system is easy to operate, but wireless charger and plugs can be difficult to reach. My biggest complaint is lack of ambient lighting. The cabin is very dark at night making it difficult to locate items. This is great drivers car considering it competes in the mainstream segment and comes in under 40k.

After years of driving a reliable Toyota Camry, my wife wanted a change, something different. Boy did she ever get it with a brand new Subaru Outback. It has 3 buttons to open automatic door openers-but it wont open ours. Less than 1/2 a year old-phone calls are randomly lost, hatch is difficult to open, the arrow pointing to which side your gas tank is on-points to the wrong side-cant get a decent radio station well-just tonight several warning lights went on-and after about 1/2 hour into reading the operators manual (which you WILL almost memorize-after numerous, futile trouble shooting) she concluded it indicated to bring car back to dealer for a consult. Two months into owning the car_my wife brought it to the dealer-and she had wisely bought the extended service plan-after about an hour of diagnostic testing and putting the car up on lift-the Technician was dumbfounded and said he couldn’t find a reason for the multiple problems-but DID generously offer a FREE car wash! WOW! If you wish to be endlessly tortured by a brand new car you wish you could return return-less than a month after buying it-then the 2022 Subaru Outback is for YOU! I will stick to driving the old 2012 Camry-that has brighter headlights, a more comfortable ride, MUCH more storage, DOESN’T have high tech sounding Subaru electronics that work poorly-or not at all. But gee-it looks somewhat stunning in the driveway, and there are many BLINDLY loyal Subaru drivers-whose devotion to such a poorly made car-may be all you need to inspire you to buy one. CANT WAIT UNTIL WE TRADE IT IN!!! Shame on you Subaru
