Good but not as good as my 2020 CX5
3 out of 5 stars

2024 Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Lots of rattles and squeaks. Brake pedal even squeaks and clunks when depressed. Off to dealer less than two months in... Fit and finish was better on my 3.5 year old CX5. Mixed mileage is 21. Never get close to EPA even on highway. Love the turbo power. Overall solid car. would def not rate it #1 in category. Wifes 2023 CRV def has better quality fit and finish. better gas mileage … with similar on the line power. Cx5 is the better Mazda. Id take a look at CX5 or CRV before buying this car. CX-50 overhyped. Im only 2 months --2300 miles in-- don't hate it. don't love it. Already have a service call. if they cant fix all the rattles I’ll probably dump it... not tight enough to justify the monthly payment. The driver seat is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat in. Total miss from the cx5. Love the leather — Again I’d rate it top 5.. but number 3-4 in category at best — UPDATE: I had reviewed at 2k miles but wanted to be fair so here is review at 10k miles. The Bad : Two trips to dealer for fit and finish - rattles - squeaks. third trip this Friday - they fix and its rattling and squeaking shortly thereafter. MPG at 60/40 is 21.5. Even on a 15 hour all highway trip I'm only at 23.5. EPA is seriously overrated. Seats are hard and uncomfortable and create fatigue at any trip over an hour or two. The Good : The turbo rocks. Love it. Handling is good. Not as good as my old CX-5 but good. Its heavy but manageable. The car inside and out is a head turner and beautiful. The terracotta leather is wearing well and is stunning. Summary: My wifes 2023 EX-L CRV with 15k miles has been to the dealer 0 times over 18 months for something other than an oil change. My CX-50 has been twice in half the time and half the miles, with no resolution and a third visit coming up. MPG is no where near advertised. Turbo is fun, drive is spirited and great for an SUV. CRV is alot better on a long trip with more comfortable seats. The CX50 is definitely sexier. but im lowering the stars from a 4 to a 3, because this car just isnt worth the hype and isnt near as livable day in and day out as the CRV. and they are the same price. The dealers cant fix the squeaks and rattles.
Almost Perfect Great Handling

2024 Mazda CX-50 2.5 S Premium 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
Pros: Great Handling, focus on driving dynamics, nicer upscale interior. 90 percent of time I drive alone. Feels larger than a compact SuV. Enjoy the lower ride feel. Averaging between 26-30 mpg. Cons: Driver seat too short, lacks leg support.. Infotainment bugs: can add fav station multiple times. Everytime you access satellite radio stations take you back to station 1 versus station … you are on.. Lots of scrolling. I like the knob. Cell charger is poor design. Long phones don't fit. No USB C charging.
Really likeable thing

2024 Mazda CX-50 2.5 S Preferred 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
We had a -20 CX-5 and had thought we’d keep it for a very long time. It was a really good car and looked like new - but then my dealer gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse on a new CX-50. So these two cars are obviously very similar, but I’m still happier than I thought with the upgrade. The chassis tuning is a little bit better, while the CX-5 always drove nice “for being an SUV” the … CX-50 drives nice without any asterisk. It’s just a little bit more planted, a little bit more agile. It’s also a tad quieter. But the most important difference is the front seats. The CX-5 seats always felt a bit small. They were not bad, but also not great. The CX-50 seats are really nice. Firm, well shaped and have a pretty attractive fabric that feels good. I didn’t think I would like the CX-50 this much but I really do. Just a very well rounded car. Update 6 months later - Yes, this car is just right. It’s not flashy, not fast - but it’s darn good at doing all the things an everyday car should do.
Snazzy & Sporty!!

2024 Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
We got my wife a 2024 turbo premium plus cx50 using the generous 0% financing. It’s our fourth consecutive Mazda purchase. I love this car. In sport mode it absolutely rips. I have a zx14 motorcycle so I know what fast is. The turbo cx50 isn’t that kind of fast but it handles like a sports car and gives you way more oomph than you would ever need. The electronics and driver’s aids are … abundant. She is learning what all the beeps and chimes mean. The 20” rims are pleasing to the eye and high quality like the rest of the car. What some folks may not like: very firm ride, road noise, some wind noise. The seats are firm but I haven’t had any problems with that. I think the cup holders are too far forward, but ymmv. MPG is not great. We knew the negatives prior to purchasing but I just couldn’t get excited about a RAV4 or a CRV. Compared to those two this cx50 is a Ferrari
