Used 2010 Subaru Outback Consumer Reviews
Happy with new Suburu
Had to order the car, since we wanted the 6 speed manual, so far, it was worth the wait. Price was very good, for this much vehicle. So far, I am very happy.
Love the 2010 outback...so far
Initial impression is great. Loving the comfort of the leather seats and legroom. agree with other comments about rear and rear-backside visibility. Feels like a car in the corners, and a truck going over bumps and ruts. Kind of amazing that it has such a complient, yet sporty suspension set up. Spoil yourself with the limited, luxury interior touches, booming stereo, heated seats, sunroof, especially all that, 29 mpg on the highway, less than a stripped down, used highlander.Paddle shifters are a hoot. Total control and very fun. You can squeeze a little fun out of that 170 hp motor. Do miss a real temp gauge/ oil pressure gauge. Also, really need a backup camera in mirror, not NAV sys only.

A Newbie Subie Owner
Traded in a 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT, which served through 130,000 miles of blatant abuse. Needed similar accommodations, and the new Outback fits the bill: it's very roomy, has comfortable seating front AND rear, and more cargo space than the Magnum did. We opted for the 2.5liter 4 cyl, and I was worried about not having enough power, but found adequate passing power, and smooth and quiet performance. I'm 6'5" and over 300 lbs, and found the driving position and seating comfort among the very best that I have found, and a 6'+ passenger can still ride comfortably behind me. Easy to use controls, superb ride and confident handling. It's a real revelation.
edmunds review is very wrong
I again read the edmunds review and i find it very flawed. Most American like the new styling. It's clean and crisp and classy. The highway handling is great but i can't comment on off road as i haven't taken it off road. The mileage is great. 30.5 mpg first tank with wife, dog and all our gear. Second tank i will hit over 500 miles. I drove the 2009 model outback and chose not to buy it, but this year, well, they did it all well. Take it from a guy that drives and buys one. Any why was it chosen the SUV crossover of the year? Edmunds, get your head in gear and rate this car higher. It sure is.
Great car, Awesome Harman Kardon audio!
Replaced a Honda CR-V, was a very good decision for us. The Outback is roomier, more versatile, has better features for the money. So far, we are very pleased with the decision. CVT took some getting used to - the wind up/wind down is not something I have experienced before. Resulting gas mileage is a reasonable trade off. We thought about getting the V- 6 - glad we did not.
