Impreza #2
I love my car! It has all the technology I need to feel safe--and it accelerates much faster than my '05 did. The only negative: the back up camera makes things look as if they're VERY far away--when they aren't. It's taken me a while to get used to this. Three years later, I'm still happy with my car. Except for recalls, I've had no repairs. I use an independent mechanic for recommended oil changes, and he gives the car a good going over. It's fine! A year later and I still love my car! I had a recall that the dealer took care of quickly, but otherwise I've had no reason to return for anything besides an oil change.

Fun car
2019 impress a limited test drive.very quiet great riding car with very good visibility.front seats are nice , rear seats lots of room.tire size 205 50 by 17. Seem a little unusual and Firestone not my pick of tires.handling is good pickup decent, cvt tranny does respond pretty good.all wheel drive is of course the strong point.had up grade radio but speaker performance fair at best.trunk spaceonly 12.4 cubic feet, not competitive.overall a safe smooth riding worth a test drive.

Weak engine
This is all: weak engine. Manual transmission. Second gear is not going to get you over 40 mpg. Car is weak. Sifter's too short. Hard to find Neutral. I think VW Golf is more fun.

We love our Impreza Limited!
We bought this car 1 year old with 10,000 mi. We’ve had it for exactly 2 years now and couldn’t be happier. Most of these reviews complain about it being slow. While it won’t win any drag races the power is very responsive over 20 mph. The CVT always has it in the right rpm range. I thought the handling was impressive before but we went to Michelin Cross climate 2 all season tires at 32,000 miles and now it’s like a slot car on our NC mountain roads in all weather. We have had zero issues with reliability. I hope that continues. Been “religious” about service and the Subaru dealerships I’ve dealt with have been outstanding. Front seats could use more bolsters but if this car stands up to my punishment long enough I’ll install Recaros, or something. I’ve been considering the new Outback Wilderness as an adventure vehicle and keep the Impreza for road carving fun.

Impreza impressions and reliability
I have had the Impreza hatchback for about a year and a half and I have no major complaints. When buying this car I was considering a number of suvs and similar small hatchbacks, though after test driving the Impreza hatch back I found it to have just about as much room as other suvs such as the rav4 or cx5. I was impressed with the rear seat room and rear headroom as well being able to sit 3 adults when needed and 2 adults comfortably. Room in the front is good as well. Being 6’3 I needed a car that I could fit in comfortably and in the Impreza I could fit easily in the front as the seats lower quite a bit. Cargo room is also pretty good. With the seats up it can fit two golf bags and quite a bit of stuff. Folding down the seats it can fit skis and my bike. This has made the Impreza very easy to live with over the past year. The Impreza gets decent gas mileage though with the five speed manual, other competitors to the Impreza have superior gas mileage. From a mix of highway and city driving I average 24-25 depending on the season. That number would have been much higher if I had gone with a civic hatch or a Corolla hatch. Though the Impreza does have full time AWD. The all wheel drive system has been impressive while driving in the snow and on gravel. With the boxer being longitudinally placed, the car has a rear bias giving it good performance in low traction settings as well as over all performance. Powertrain wise the Impreza is decent. It uses more oils compared to equivalent inline engines and is also down on power. The engine has suitable power which is enough for day to day use, though torque is hard to find anywhere below 3k. The five speed has long throws and is relatively clunky which makes it hard to get used to. On days below 20 degrees the transmission is a pain to use and crunches into gear until it is warmed up. Compared with the cvt option, I’d say the manual is the better pick though, as it does a better job of hiding the cars low power and it can be satisfying to use once you have learned the transmission better. The sport trim has a stiffer “sport” suspension which makes the ride slightly more intrusive without any noticeable handling improvements. At speeds above 55 wind noise becomes a bit unpleasant though isn’t that bad. The Impreza has good technology for what you pay. The optional keyless entry and tap to lock is a helpful feature. The improved 6 speaker sound system isn’t great, but not horrible, though the Harmon Kardon isn’t much better. Night driving is improved by auto dimming rear and side view mirrors (optional) which was a must when I was looking for a car. On the topic of night driving, the halogen headlights on the Impreza sport aren’t great. They do the job but when not surrounded by city lights they feel weak. The high beams are a bit better but don’t have much range. The Impreza has been a fun car to live with and I have had no regrets after getting this car. The new generation of Impreza has lost the manual and is up on price and doesn’t seem to have all that many great improvements. We’ve had a good experience so far with reliability and have passed 100k miles with no issues so far. There might be better options out there on paper, but other than a couple small things, the Impreza doesn’t disappoint.

the subaru man
So far I enjoy driving this car since I have learned how to use the navigations items on the car. however I feel this car is too low to the ground and would have prefered a subaru crv like croosover or outback. I dont feel comfortable in bad or windy weather because of this. also I got an accident in my carport and this car had a lot of damage even though I hardly toched my villa. this car is made of plastic not made well. looks like an expensive car but like i just said probably made very cheaply and the parts to fix was alot of money
