Used 2019 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews
Auto start/stop
Love the car. HATE the auto/stop feature! Huge pain in the ass. I don't care what it costs, but I WILL figure out how to permanently defeat this useless feature or get rid of the car. Some "greener" had to think this one up.

My fifth Forester
The Subaru Forester is the perfect compromise between looks, performance and value. The car is a delight to drive. The Sport model has many of the features that I wanted without having to go to the more expensive trim lines. The greatest feature to me is the automatic headlights. The auto dimming works very well. IOur local dealer provides excellent customer service. I will continue to buy Subaru Foresters.

My mpg is the worst!!
Chances are you won’t get a lemon in regard to fuel mileage on a Subaru Forester, but I did. I previously leased a 2017 premium Suburu Forester, and was very pleased with the mileage, but I am past my first year of leasing a new premium Forester 2019, and my mileage is horrible compared to what it should be according to stated EPG. I am consistently getting about 20 miles per gallon every tank fill for the past year since I leased. I wanted to keep this car at the end of the lease but now I will lose my equity, Since I don’t want to keep this one. I asked the dealership to check the mileage for me, and diagnose the system, and they said nothing wrong but I know there’s got to be something wrong. I drive no differently than before, and I consistently got about 25 average city and about 30 average on the highway on the 2019 model, and I am a fanatic about my mpg, I check it every single time I fill my gas tank to the top. I reset the A trip odometer to zero each and every time and just leave it until I fill up again. No improvement in mileage and I am at almost 9000 miles driven for the year. I hope everyone else is faring better than I, as to mileage. Otherwise I am satisfied with the new improvements and re-design of the 2019 model. Great improvement from my previous 2017. In almost every way. The exterior is definitely more streamlined than before and a little more stylish. Inside, better dashboard electronic instrument visibility, easier controls, more streamlined and stylish interior, excellent roominess inside and headroom, smooth ride, great visibility, I only wish they let you pick a different interior color, the ice silver metallic only comes with black. But the most important thing is the mpg, and furthermore the pick up is not good on this one as compared to my previous 2017. That one was much better. I may be one of the few Subaru Forester 2019 owners that has lost the love. I really wanted to stick with Subaru forever but I am so disappointed now, because of my lemon in gas mileage, that I may move on to another brand make of car. I am now afraid of getting another lemon, especially since they had problems in Japan with stated EPG. They got in some trouble with that, I believe, Japan. Suburu, there is something wrong with the mechanics of this specific car mileage wise. It does not live up to it’s usual reputation for mileage per gallon.
Value for Money
We bought 2019 Forester Premium last January and have been very happy since then. It is a third car in our family after a BMW X5, Merc GLC 300. So I have a good comparison available about how it drives. X5 is very powerful, GLC is very luxurious , but the Forester is the most smooth to drive. The CVT is uber respnosive and the car accelerates from zero to 60mph very smoothly and quickly. Passing on freeways is very good. I have recently pushed it to 110mph on the freeway during the lock down due to the virus epidemic and it achieved the target with no sweat. So those claiming that it is under powered is incorrect. Only nit picking is the Apple Play is wired and not over blue tooth, so a little inconvienent. It takes regular gas which is a bonus. All round view from the cockpit is awesome. Storage capacity is as good as a large SUV. You won't regret the purchase as it drives better then any luxury brands !

Nice car, can get hot in heat, tint windows
Because the windows are so large and untinted in front, it gets really hot in sunlight. TINT your windows or you won't benefit from air-conditioning. Large windows keep things safer nonetheless. I love the large sunroof at night or when cool....great breeze and view. Spacious for large plants, etc. Awesome to have 24 hr. roadside assistance option! They come to you wherever, whenever! Not for drivers that want to accelerate quickly
