Used 2019 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews
My 5th & LAST subaru
Traded a 2013 crosstrek for this thing, horrible mistake. The new forester has that engine shut off feature, "enhanced" cruise control that changes speed in 5 mph increments (DANGEROUS)and SLOWS the car when approaching cars to pass, warning bells that go off all the time(I've driven over 50 years,NO accidents) and the transmission is herky jerky below 40 mph---& a manual explaining it all that's a mere 500 pages( ! ) long.We had recalls on the valve springs & tranny on the 2013. These new high teckkie things on new cars are awful & worth avoiding at all costs and the future looks dim.Keep your old car. My older chevy truck is a real keeper after this forester experience. UPDATE-Finally talked my wife(her car) into getting rid of this forester thing. Traded for a 2021 toyota rav4 hybrid . The rav4 is MUCH easier to use with it's FAR less confusing hi tekkie stuff. The cruise control can be used like the pre-hi tekkie stuff instead of the dangerous cruise we are now forced to endure . HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN ! Bye forever subaru . Make sure the dealer shows you ALL the hi tekkie junk on this car. They don't volunteer ANY info before you buy this thing.Beware.Then get a toyota.

Horrible Electronics!
I have a 2019 Subaru Forester. This is my first Subaru, I will never buy a Subaru again! The only positive thing I can say about the automobile is that it rides nice. The electronics are horrendous. There are a number of "safety feature" electronics on the "Touring" model of the Forester. Many seem to have a mind of there own. I have had to go back to the dealership a couple of times because the tail gate would not open. I was told it was "sensitive". The car has a feature that alerts the driver when the driver's eyes are "supposedly" not looking at the road. I have been driving when this "alert" runs continuously and annoyingly! Again, went back to the dealership. I was told that the direction of the sun (in this case setting) will blind the sensor monitoring the driver's eyes. This results in the alert. Sometimes the "lane change warning" works sometimes it doesn't. There are many indicators on the dash that light up, (or not light up), or beep, or ring on any given day, with my not turning anything on or off. The electronics are incredibly inconsistent. I was told this model forester has the latest Subaru electronics. Apparently the systems were not tested enough in real world, road driving scenarios. Interestingly, the day I signed the papers for the car the finance manager said, "Now don't come back here in a month and try to return the car.", I thought he was making a joke. Now I know he knew something at the time about this car that I didn't. Or, at least it appears that way.
Love Hate Relationship
Love everything except the driver's seat is not comfortable at all on extended trips. I think more padding would help!

Where’s the horses ?
Big V here It has been 13 months and 5,000 miles since I picked up by new (2019) Forester from RaffertySubaru. In case I gave people the wrong impression, I am completely happy with the car and the Dealership. At 74 and someone who cut his teeth on 4 speed (manual) muscle cars, I realized this suv was not the performance machine a WRX or STI is. I just would have liked to have the turbo option available. I don’t know about the other reviewers but my Limited has top quality materials and the fit and finish is first rate. Would I buy another Forester, Yes. Especially if I could get RaffertySubaru to put a turbo on it 😜 Aug 3rd 2021. After almost three years and 8709 miles still really enjoy the car. Best feature in my opinion is the ergonomics. Definitely will buy another
