Used 2005 Scion xB Consumer Reviews
Excellent car
This is a great little car. You only need to step inside to see why it's such a good deal for $15k - it's huge inside. Being a box makes it very space efficient; awkwardly tall friends will appreciate the rear leg and head room. However, the car is still narrow and short enough that it's easy to park anywhere, and the sitting position is surprisingly high. Handling and road noise are decent considering it's a box with wheels, and the standard traction and stability control do wonderfully in bad weather. A bigger engine would be nice at times, but it usually feels plenty peppy and gets great gas milage. Toyota quality for this price makes this car hard to resist.
Good for the price
The 2005 Scion xB is easy and fun to drive in traffic and very responsive. It is very easy to park in tight places. It does lack in power on the freeways and the gas mileage drops off at higher speeds, but I am still able to maintain 26 mpg or better at 75 mph. I get over 30 mpg at slower speeds. The ride is stiff and uncomfortable for long hauls. This car is very good in cities and short drives. The front bumper is only 5" off the ground so watch those curb blocks.

BEST BUY FOR YOUR MONEY
Scion XB is a definite head turner. People cannot help but ask on every stop light, every chance given. It's definitely not for the enclosed, traditional and closed minded person. Because, "it's different". It is not a Car, nor a Van, or an SUV. Scion is in it's own category and class. It was originally designed to attract young people, that's why they have priced it very affordable specially for students or first time buyers, but litle that they know, middle age up to seniors are loving this car. Why drive what everybody drives? Be different, be noticed, and step out of "the box", but step in into a "cool and unique box".
Scion xB - Needs a Diesel Engine
The 2005 Scion xB is fun to drive, has nice acceleration, a great view, loads of head room, and handles well with a front strut tower brace. Mine has Denso 0.4 mm iridium plugs and a K&N million mile air filter (not a CAI). I have used Mobil 1 in it from Day 1. I also added a hood wind deflector. Don't buy in-channel window air deflectors..they don't fit correctly causing the windows to not completely close. I got front and rear seatcovers for mine from seatcovers.net, and a Scion center armrest through eBay. I like the sound of the original sound system.
