I purchased this vehicle in 2002 for 3900. It only has 89900 miles on it. I've had to replace front brakes and also a bracket that held up the altenator which was pricey since it was so hard to get to. Overall, a good dependable little car. I've put off buying new because mine has less mileage than some cars 4 years old. I think it may have been wrecked before I bought it; always a gamble when opening the trunk as it might not close. Also, paint fading on hood badly. Would definitely buy another Saturn product. 12 years old and still going strong. Although, indicator lights go on and off for no reason! Always keeps me guessing. I have it tuned up every year and oil changes.

This is a 2001 3Dr SC2. It has been reliable....so far. However, despite proper maintenance it shifts extremely hard. I thought it was only when it wasn't completely warmed up, but it happened all the time. This is an automatic, so I am not mis-shifting a manual. On the other hand, the radio system is awesome for an OMB unit. In addition, the interior room is very scant. My boyfriend is 6'1". He has about 1/2 inch of room above his head (which will do), his legs are really cramped though. No place for him to stretch his legs. Plus, absolutely no room in the back seat.

I bought this car (used) right before my senior year in high school. I am now getting ready to graduate from college and have put a lot of miles, but almost no money into the car. It has been a great car for a college student because it gets awesome gas mileage and has required virtually no repairs. The only thing I've replaced are the brakes, tires, and alternator. It may not be the flashiest or the fastest car out there but it is definitely a good starter car for a young person.

I bought this car about 5 years ago, used. It is the best decision in car buying I could have made. With gas prices the way they are and the fact that my '96 Gold SC2 is paid off, driving my car around never felt better. Some other Saturn owners made have had problems, I think it is due to maintance and upkeep. Costs of maintance and repair are high. That is why I do my own work on my car. It's cheaper!! Another reason is the fact that my sc2 is all power and tons of extras!! sunroof, foglamps, spoiler, etc I would buy another saturn some day however they don't build them like mine anymore and the quad coupe they have now is just too large and not sporty enough.

Poor Saturn Quality-Buy a Toyota/Honda!

This has been the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Most problems were under the 36000 mile warrenty. I have had the following problems. Warped break rotors (replaced twice). Stuck speedometer (replaced). Short in electrical sunroof (fixed). Oil leaked from gear box (fixed). Clutch burned up (replaced). Generator failed (replaced). Saturn service is polite. My next vehilce will be a Honda or Toyota. The build quality is very poor. Cheap materials for the interior.
