Dead at 38,000 miles
My '93 Saturn SL2 quit at 38,000 miles. It would have cost $2500 for the dealer to rebuild the engine which was more than they would give me for the repaired car. The General Manager of the Saturn dealer I bought it from lectured me that the time element on the warranty was every bit as important as the mileage limitation. By that reasoning if you buy a Saturn with a 3 or 5 year warranty that's all you should expect to get out of the car. He also informed me that his service department was union and worked strictly on commission so he could not give me a break on the cost of the repair no matter how disappointing the car's performance because "it wouldn't be fair."

I've only had to replace the alternator once and had motor work performed once in the last 2 year. Overall I've been very pleased with look and performance as well as reliability. The only negatives 1. the plastic interior has started giving way 2.the seat cushions getting flat. But afterall the car is over 8 years old. 3. durable exterior wall will bounce back from hit unless in 20degree weather in which it will crack easily. It has more than paid for it's self.
150000 & Still going strong
Bought this car a few days into my first REAL job out of college. This baby has put up with my heavy foot and poor judgement while driving in the rain. I have run it off the road and done serious damage twice. Damage to the car and not me! It was close to totalled in the last one 7 years ago but it runs better than ever today!!! The exterior is perfect. It looks GREAT! This has to be the best starter car ever. I have taken 4 trips to Texas from NYC and this baby is so good on gas!! 30+mpg I will definately do Saturn again if this one ever wears out...
Ol' Reliable
After 125,000 miles this car keeps on tickin' - This car is an excellent commute work-horse. It's nothing fancy, but it keeps doing the job.
Very Reliable!!
I love my car!! I bought it at 80,000 miles four years ago and now it has 133,000 miles on it. I travel a lot. My car has never broke down on me. I've only had to push in a loose spark plug twice. I won't get a new car till she finally quits on me. Lets see how many miles I can get up to...
