The 2026 Palisade Hybrid takes all of the desirable attributes of the regular Palisade and adds quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy. The result is an impressively comfortable, practical and stylish three-row SUV. It's one of our top recommendations for sure.Read full review
The Palisade is Hyundai's largest gas-powered SUV, and it's fully redesigned for 2026. The first-generation Palisade set a new standard for the midsize three-row crossover class, and we're happy to report that the revamped version does it again. Step inside the 2026 Hyundai Palisade and you're greeted by a cabin chock full of upscale materials, expert craftsmanship and more features than any other competitor. This SUV is also incredibly roomy; offers a comfortable, serene ride; and, as always, comes with Hyundai's industry-leading warranty. The Palisade has a few faults, but overall, it delivers an elevated experience almost everywhere.

Excellent
8.3

We drove the 2026 Hyundai Palisade on our test track and on real roads. Our Edmunds team conducts rigorous independent vehicle testing, driving 500,000 miles a year.
Driving experience
7.9/10
How does it drive? The Palisade Hybrid fixes our only real complaint with the regular Palisade: It's considerably quicker. Opting for the Palisade Hybrid shaves nearly 1.5 seconds off your sprint to 60 mph, which makes merging onto the highway and carrying a full load of passengers much less stressful. The Palisade Hybrid's six-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, though we noticed that it can make an occasional low-speed clunk, likely during the handoff from fully electric propulsion to hybrid power.
Like its non-hybrid sibling, the Palisade Hybrid has a comfortable ride. No matter the road surface or the speed, the Palisade glides over it all without transmitting harsh impacts to you or your passengers.
The Palisade's large windows help ensure excellent visibility all around. The rearview camera and available 360-degree camera system have high-resolution displays and don't lag or stutter. The Palisade offers nearly every advanced driver aid, and most of them worked well in our testing. The exception was the lane centering feature, which allowed the vehicle to bounce excessively between the lane markers rather than keeping a steady line.
Comfort
8.4/10
How comfortable is it? The front seats are comfortable and have a lot of adjustments. There's also a lot of headroom and legroom up front, but the low-mounted steering wheel makes it hard for tall drivers to enter and exit gracefully.
You'll also like the Palisade Hybrid if you frequently take along rear passengers. There's enough room for even tall passengers to be comfortable. It's also good for parents with small children. The safety seat LATCH anchors are easily accessible, and lots of vertical headroom means it's pretty easy to install a car seat without hitting your head. You can easily fit a rear-facing seat without encroaching on the front passenger's space. The Palisade is also available with power-adjustable third-row seats, so you can recline and even slide the seats back for maximum comfort.
The interior is cleverly designed. The climate control panel is an intuitive mixture of physical knobs and digital buttons, and the system itself keeps the cabin cool on a hot day. The Palisade Hybrid is also supremely quiet. In low-speed situations, like driving in a parking garage, it usually moves along quietly using its electric motor.
In-cabin tech
9.7/10
How’s the tech? You access most of the Palisade's controls by using the touchscreen. The interface is easy to understand and has a logical menu structure that won't cause you to break out the owner's manual. Everything is thoughtfully laid out, and the large screen means the virtual buttons aren't crowded.
The Palisade also has wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and our test Palisade had seven USB ports spread throughout the cabin, along with a wireless charging pad up front. The luxe Calligraphy trim also comes with front and rear dash cams, which would be impressive even for a luxury SUV.
Storage & cargo
7.2/10
How’s storage and cargo? The Palisade Hybrid's cargo space is just OK considering how big it is overall. Cargo volumes of 19.1 cubes behind the third row and 86.7 cubes behind the first row are slightly better than the Toyota Highlander offers but well below the capacities of the VW Atlas and Grand Highlander. But the usefulness of the available power-operated second and third rows is undeniable. The Palisade Hybrid is rated to tow 4,000 pounds, which isn't shabby for a hybrid SUV.
Interior storage is excellent. The large front storage area can accommodate tall items and still keep a reasonable amount of gear out of sight. The underarm storage bin is also pretty big. The door pockets aren't gigantic but will hold a few knickknacks.
Value
9.5/10
Is it a good value? The 2026 Palisade Hybrid offers a streamlined lineup with three well-equipped trims, ensuring a premium experience from the start. While there's no base-trim equivalent, the Hybrid focuses on delivering exceptional value with upscale materials like soft-touch surfaces and available leather upholstery. The price premium over an equivalently optioned non-hybrid includes a wealth of standard features that are often optional in competitors. For those seeking the ultimate in refinement, the range-topping Calligraphy trim rivals luxury SUVs with its advanced tech, premium finishes and attention to detail.
Hyundai also offers an industry-leading warranty: five years/60,000 miles of basic coverage and 10 years/100,000 miles for the powertrain.
MPG
7/10
How’s the fuel economy? When equipped with front-wheel drive, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid carries an EPA estimate of 34 mpg or 31 mpg combined, depending on the wheels you choose. Opting for all-wheel drive drops that figure to 29 mpg combined. These are significantly better numbers than the non-hybrid Palisade offers, so if you do a lot of driving, the Hybrid could pay for itself sooner than you think.
X factor
10/10
While the new Palisade's looks might not be for everyone, we give Hyundai credit for making something that stands out from the crowd. The Palisade's interior is also flat-out exceptional. We think this is a very impressive vehicle that will win you over with its style and practicality. Opting for the Palisade Hybrid adds better fuel economy as well as more power, making the Palisade a great pick for a three-row SUV.

2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid pricing in Ashburn, VA
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade is a three-row midsize SUV available in seven trims: SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, SEL Premium, XRT Pro, Limited and Calligraphy. A Palisade Hybrid is also available. The Hybrid comes in SEL, SEL Premium, Limited and Calligraphy trim levels. Compare the 2026 Hyundai Palisade trim levels in-depth.
Which Palisade trim does Edmunds recommend?
There are two trims in the Palisade's lineup that stand out. The midtier SEL Premium offers pretty good value for the money; it's a couple of steps up from the base model but has a few features that are tough to find on rival SUVs, including ventilated second-row seats and both blind-spot and surround-view parking cameras. It's a great way to get a lot of desirable goodies without breaking the bank. On the other end is the top-spec Calligraphy. It's one of the most expensive models in this class, but it comes with features that you won't find anywhere else — that is, unless you upgrade to a luxury SUV. A massaging driver's seat with an extendable thigh rest, winged second-row headrests, synthetic suede headliner and a remote parking function are among its many highlights.
Competitors to consider
For all of the Palisade's excellent qualities, it does stumble in areas where rivals shine. Its cargo area isn't the biggest, and if you need to haul a heap of gear, the Toyota Grand Highlander and Volkswagen Atlas will do just that. If the Palisade with its standard V6 doesn't offer the performance you crave, check out the smaller, nimbler and more athletic Mazda CX-90, which offers a pair of potent turbocharged engines. Want to go green? The Grand Highlander offers two fuel-sipping hybrids in its lineup. The Kia Telluride continues to be a very popular pick as well.
Edmunds spotlight: What more could you want?
Hyundai has always played a strong value game; even if a Hyundai vehicle's price wasn't the lowest among competitors, you'd always get more features for the money. The 2026 Palisade continues that tradition, but it also delivers the unexpected, especially in the top-trim Calligraphy trim level. A massaging driver's seat with thigh extension, front and rear dash cams, a germ-destroying sterilization bin, power-adjustable second-row captain's chairs, power recline and sliding for the heated third-row seats — the list goes on. And you'll find few or none of these features in other three-row SUVs. In a world where rivals are content to tick boxes off a checklist, the Palisade strives to surprise.
The vehicle is quiet and comfortable with excellent luxury features comparable to and in some areas superior to the Lexus TX and the Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX (GH). For example the GH offers "leather seats" with breathable non leather inserts in the seat and back. The HP seats are all leather and the seat warming and cooling works significantly better on the Hyundai than the GH. From … our test drives the Palisade is quieter than both the TX 500h and Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX. My wife loves the mid-century modern interior. It's highway performance is excellent. This makes trips lasting more than an hour seem to go by much more quickly. We went on a two and a half hour trip in a comfortable Honda CR-V Touring and suffered from stiff joints and aches and pains afterward. We made the same trip in our Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy and felt refreshed rather than stiff. The driver assist features are good but take a little getting used to. Steering tends to be a little soft but you can improve that by using the "Sport" mode. The options offered by the electronics are immense. If you want the tighter steering of "Sport mode" but the economy of the econ mode you can personalize your driving profile by specifying sport mode steering with econ mode efficiency. Ultimately, the infotainment center of the HP looks and feels much more advanced than the vast majority of other vehicles we looked at including the Honda Pilot, the TX and the GH. That being said some of the electronic features may feel a little gimmicky but you can fix that by simply turning those features off. In conclusion this is a very capable and comfortable vehicle perfect for long trips and good size families. It even has an intercom so the driver can speak to passengers in the 3rd row. While it's over all specs such as total horsepower or total hauling capacity may be slightly exceeded by the GH Max the differences in actual capability are minimal and it is a more refined vehicle. The question that still needs to be answered is exactly how reliable this vehicle will be over time.
The new Palisades Calligraphy Hybrid is a 10, 600+miles per tank, every option one could ever want and with going back to the old 6 speed amazing 2nd Palisades had a 2023 Calligraphy loved it but the 2026 Hybrid is much quicker and far better MPG. I test drove the BMW'S, MB'S, Porches, Chevy Tahoe etc.
could not find $35,000 to $80,000 difference and the warranty is far better than any … of the others, 10yr/100,000 miles
Bought the car in mid December got it Home left it in the garage for three days and found out it wouldnt start. The battery was dead. Took it to the shop fixed. It brought it home. Left it for three days. The battery’s dead. It’s been in the shop for 20 additional days. At this point, they really don’t know what to do and they may end up getting me out of the vehicle.Anyone who owns one … of these vehicles and drives it on a daily basis. Will never see this problem I would recommend anyone that owns the Hyundai Palisade calligraphy edition park it for 3 to 5 days. The last thing you wanna do is go to the airport and take a trip and come home to Find the vehicle won’t start and I feel like this is what’s gonna happen to people, but as long as you drive it every day the problem will not present itself.
Blue hybrid premium is best!
5 out of 5 stars
2026 palisade hybrid premium, 10/25/2025
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Blue SEL Premium 4dr SUV w/7 Passenger Seating (2.5L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 6A)
The Blue hybrid premium has the optimal features, components, to maximize MPG for a max 35 per gallon. Being the lightest and having the least roll resistant wheels makes it the fastest since they all have the same hybrid engine of 329 HP and 339 lb-ft of
torque. The ride is superb with excellent handling. The 0-60 MPH is physically best at this trim. The tires are AI created for the … least drag and wind resistance and least road friction. The wheels are specific to the SEL premium for the same reasons. Less excess weight with the FWD and specialized wheels and tires. Also no excessive unnecessary motors that move the seats slowly and gimmicky gadgets like a UV light. Just wash your hands regularly especially after the gym swine. The Koreans know Americans well. So for the greatest mileage 35 MPG and fastest acceleration and lane changes be sure to opt for the 2026 palisade hybrid blue premium. This is by far the vehicle of the year.
