911 Thrill machine 8K update
911 C2 Carrera S is everything and more than I could have wanted, The car is so enjoyable to drive that I often find myself smiling or laughing at how incredible and usable the performance is. It makes you feel like a better driver than you are. All specifications are on line so I won't mention them however I will discuss how those number translate in the real world. O-60 and 60-0 are easily achieved without drama. The brakes are so strong that I find myself occasionally looking in the rear view mirror hoping the car behind me left enough braking room. 4 wheel steering is a must purchase option. Lane changes at highway speeds and above are telepathic, no body lean, no upset to the chassis, just rock solid performance. Interior is pleasant but not luxurious considering the price. Sound levels are rather high at around town speeds but fade away on the highway. Storage is adequate thanks to the small back seat which can never be used for a human over 4 ft tall. I have noticed when the temp drops below 45 degrees the tires have a hard time keeping contact during rapid acceleration from stand still. This is typical of summer tires however makes me think maybe I should have opted for the 4S. Update...Car now has 4K miles . Still agree with my original review. Had the car on the track finally and it was superb. Few stock vehicles can keep up with it. Steering feedback is excellent, you can feel when your approaching the limits of adhesion. Brakes are powerful. I could late brake into a turn well after other vehicles were on their binders. Rained in the afternoon which gave me the opportunity to test wet mode on the track. Once again the car amazes. All but 2 cars pitted during the storm but my Porsche felt planted. You can't imagine the performance capability of this vehicle until you bring it to the track. 8K update...All the above still apply. Car has experiences many service bulletins and engine mounts needed to be replaced on a recall. Not surprised as this was a very early build. Now for some negatives 1) Why no AM radio band? Ludicrous on a car of this cost they couldn't include AM radio, 2) Programming the garage door opener is a nightmare. Why cant they follow the other divisions (Volkswagen,Audi) software which is easily programed. 3) Customer support from Porsche USA online or via telephone is pathetic, as is their vehicles owners manual. Phone customer service representatives just repeat whats in the owners manual which is weak at best. 11K update. Car is telepathic on the track, throttle oversteer is easy to dial in. 27 mpg on the highway. Still impressed by its capability. If you purchase this vehicle and never track it, you’ll be missing 80% of its capability . One negative track occurrence is with windows down as required at the track wind turbulence and harmonic sound is unacceptable. Can’t believe Porsche never ran this vehicle at 100 mph with the windows down Small air deflectors placed by the outside mirrors is the answer. Shame on Porsche for not realizing this short coming. The fix cost me $120 plus installation. 15K update....Still reliable, Maintenance is EXPENSIVE. Rotors were 5k. Front tires were'nt wearing well, had some camber and caster adjustments done, problem solved. 20K update. More of the same great performance and owner satisfaction. PCA track instructors constantly marvel at the capability of a stock 991 S C2. No service issues causing down time as of yet. 23K, All good, sticking with all prior comments, Never mentioned car is easy to get in and out of unlike other sports cars, same goes for visibility which is excellent as opposed to my C8 Corvette

2018 Grd Sport Corvette For 2020 Porsche Carrera S
Traded in a Corvette for the new 2020 Porsche Carrera S. In short, I have never looked backed. The performance and handling are true German outstanding engineering. It feels similar in straight line speed but handling is tighter with the Porsche. The car just feels better built to me and renewed my excitement about driving a sports car. The interior is very comfortable and instrument panel fantastic. My only con is that the learning curve is more for feeling comfortable with all the controls. After a few weeks, the controls came natural to me. I have been surprised by all the capabilities of the controls. The one surprise was that I did not have AM on the radio. However, I was able to get it via bluetooth from my phone.

New Porsche 992 S
This car is insane. I've owned 6 Porsche cars even a 911 Turbo. This new 992 S is insane from the new body lines to the interior, Porsche got this one right.

Love at first ride
Was looking at the new c8, but the lack of sports car feel and handling made me go out and test drive a 911. After the test drive I was sold. 1200 miles in and it’s been a love affair with the road that I haven’t had since owning my 2001 YZF-R6.

The best yet
I’ve had a 997 Carrera S and 991 GTS and this is by far the better machine . Very quick, very comfortable ( drop the tire pressures to Porsche comfort levels ) much more of a GT car when it needs to be. My first 911 convertible and what a joy, very comfortable with top down even at highway speeds with wind blocker. Everything is just so dialed in , the PDK, the different driver modes and the quality has a jewel like quality. It’s still a event every time I drive it.

My Silver 992
Purchased used in 2022 with 35 miles on the odometer from Porsche dealership in Hawaii (the person who ordered it never picked it up as they lived in Japan and never traveled back to Hawaii. … thanks COVID… So, he sold it back to the dealer) Pros: rides well with great acceleration and handling Great looks and design Cons: Worst speakers ever! The Bose speakers must be broken. Tried to demonstrate how bad they were at the dealership when I first purchased the car but i didn’t understand at the time that the speakers rattle on certain songs. It’s extremely annoying. Disturbingly more cabin rattles than I expected given how so many car reviews speak so highly of 911s build quality. My 992 is a early late 2019 build so maybe that has something to do with it… I would recommend any 992 purchaser to get the nose lift function. I scraped the front once and now approach all inclines with extreme caution. Great car otherwise

911-2- S COUPE STICK
Bravo Porsche , I love it all. I have had four 911‘s over the years and this is absolutely my favorite. It is beautifully put together, I love the leather stitching, high level of workmanship and the mechanical precision. It is unbelievably fast, smooth and wonderful to drive. The manual creates the feeling of a resto-mod, where old school meets hi tech. As noted by many you don’t have to shift much if you don’t want to. Second gear can do about 80 so there is a huge range available in second or third. The modern touches like rev-matching and auto-start if you step on the clutch from stalling out, (which rarely occurs) is genius. My car is largely a garage queen. It’s in a country house and only used in suburban areas for weekend fun runs. Therefore the stick is ideal. The manual has a completely different vibe and character than the PDK. If you’re using the car as a daily driver in an urban environment I would get the PDK. Let’s face it, that’s the best automatic in the world and it’s faster.. I’ve driven the PDK and it’s more luxurious in it’s character and ride, but not as engaging. I love the Bose, no need for a Burmeister. The moonroof, leather stitching, Beautiful white dials, in my opinion that’s all you need with a stick. It comes with the sport exhaust and a few other things as a manual. I don’t have rear wheel steering, 4 wheel drive, or nose lift and I don’t miss them. I don’t see the need for four-wheel-drive if you’re not driving in the snow or bad weather which most people do not do . The 2 Wheel Drive is a blast and handles superbly . The 911 is very roomy, comfortable, light and airy as compared to many other true sports cars. It’s also one of the few you can get with a manual transmission. This is a modern classic.

911 life
Pros- legendary product heritage, constant praise from onlookers, exciting drive, easy to use as everyday drive... cons- for a 100k+ purchased new, way too many speaks & rattles, Easily picks up rocks and debris from the road because it's so low to the ground. Constantly worried about damage. Add to replace windshield due to a rock chip .$3000, Expensive to own. Rear tires Which wear out quicker than the front are $500 each

Great car
I had the new mid-engine corvette convertible on order but due to supplier issue, kept on getting pushed backed. GM did say they will produce 2020 vettes into December if needed, however had little to no communication with their customers concerning build dates. Not wanting to pay full price for a car that's basically one year old, I decided to go for the gusto and spring for a new Porsche 911 Cabriolet. The car is fun to drive and has excellent build quality. The only problem I have had so far is I cannot get the Homelink to open the gate to my community and was told to take it to my local Porsche dealership for help, and the MMI system could be much more user friendly. This is nothing compared tothe vette which has had transmissions with debris, fit and finish problems and computer problems to name a few. In the long run, the decision to get the 911 was the right one for me. In an update to my review, the gasket around the front windshield was defective and had to be replaced under the warranty. You have to be very patient with the keyless entry on the drivers side. Porsche is aware of this, and it’s attributed to a poorly designed system. And then there’s the maintenance costs where EVERYTHING is expensive. I was expecting that but now I can confirm it. I still like the car. It’s a lot of fun, especially with the top down on a nice summer evening in Florida.

Spectacular in every way
Comfortable to sit in. Fabulous steering and acceleration. Every minute a joy!
Porsche 2021 911S 2WD
A fantastic Drivers Car with more power than any street car needs. A few things to be aware of: 1.) It is a performance car with a suspension that one should expect. Very controlled, and you will feel every nuance of the road, both good and bad. 2.) Squeaks and rattles from interior bits are numerous and unbecoming a vehicle of this caliber. My old 356 Porsche's were far quieter in this regard. 3.) Fuel economy is amazing, over 15,000 miles I've averaged 22 mpg. 4.) If you like to do your own maintenance, Porsche makes this extremely difficult. Porsche does not make any technical information available to the public. This includes such things as how much oil it takes to do an oil change, so let your imagination run wild with this one. A corporate policy that begs for the adoption of "Right to Repair" laws IMHO.

2022 911 GTS IS A TRACK CAR
2022 911 C2 GTS Coupe. Manual. This is my second 922, so I have a reference point. This car is an old school hot rod. This is primarily a track car. My GTS Combination of manual transmission, rear axle steering and turbo S suspension makes the GTS drive like the most track focused vehicle I have ever driven. As I live in New York and I have never been to a track, this is not necessarily great thing. The ride quality is intolerably harsh on our roads. My 2021 C2 S was comparatively a luxury ride. The rear wheel steering makes this car extremely nervous and darty at highway speeds. Rear wheel steering is great for making a U-turn or parking, but on the open road it’s overkill.. This car is a track monster, drivers only, not recommended for passengers. Yes it has more horsepower and it comes with a lot of goodies, but be careful what you wish for. If I lived near a track, this would be my first choice. There is no such thing as comfort mode in this ride. . There appears to be very little discernable difference between the sport, sport plus and the various driving modes as they are all hard as a rock. Every road bump crashes through the car. The 992 C2S in sport mode is an all around champion. Don't get me wrong, if you want a race car in sheeps clothing, do not hesitate. Unfortunately after a summer with the GTS, I couldn’t wait to get rid of it. The typical Carrera S has so much power and is incredibly comfortable and handles superbly, so I ordered a new C2s manual.. The GTS center lock wheels look great' but God help you if you get a flat. You will need to abandon the car and have it flat bedded to a dealer. So considering a road trip was off the table for me. That’s basically true with any high-performance car. Any flat and you are out of commission. Also the new interface screen software that was upgraded is not intuitive, it's really frustrating and poorly executed. Others have mentioned this also. . So if you decide to get the GTS, I would skip the manual transmission in this model and avoid the rear wheel steering, A manual changes the entire character of a 911S, I love the rev matching and auto clutch start, great for a CS2 but too much on a GTS. This car is made for racing and the PDK will run rings around a manual. I also don't know why anyone would want a 4 wheel drive model. Can't figure that out. Are you really driving in the snow?/ Love the C2S, lets leave it there.

amazing combination of comfort and performance
I have owned 5 Porsche turbos since the original in 1976, and have found them to be the best combination of comfort and performance. Over the years the Porsche 911 turbos have become more refined which goes with my being 47 years older than when I bought the first one. Highly recommended.

Finally, a keeper Porsche
Owned every Porsche model offered in 2018-2019, except for the Cayenne. This 992 911 S is far superior to others, including two or three GTS variants. Steering, handling and acceleration are perfect. Not good - really, perfect. It would be hard to imagine a better balance between insane capability and every day comfort.

I drive further for fun
Such a blast. I never quite understood why people bought these. Now I know. There is driving and there is Porsche Driving. I regularly drive past my house just for fun, after grocery shopping for instance. There has been a lot of melted ice cream in my house since I got the car. The car can be a track car and a daily driver. Surprisingly I get a lot of stuff crammed into the small non trunk. The only slight so so items are the seats can hurt. Maybe it is me? Also the Bose stereo stinks for what it costs.

Best every day driver I could imagine!
Comfortable, spacious, easy to drive, quick..... a real driver's car. Doesn't do anything outstanding.... Just does everything above expectations. The way I drive it in sport mode or revving it up with paddle shifters it can drink fuel between 10-15mpg. When I drive more like a normal person it gets 20+mpg.

Absolute Best Performance for the Money
There is no car on the market that performs in every driving environment as well as the new 992 gen 911 does at this price point. There are higher top speed cars out there for more $$, but as far as 0-60 performance, handling, track and street use goes... this is far and away the best car for sub $150K. Do not waste your time looking at anything else, the 992 is no joke and you wont regret a single mile you put on it... not to mention you wont worry about a single mile because the 911 platform is bulletproof on and off the track

2022 GTS Cab
I owned the car for 14 months and put 6500 miles on it. The passenger cup holder never worked after multiple service attempts. The rear spoiler sensors had issues and the car spent the 1st month in the shop being repaired. The passenger door panel had a rattle that couldn’t be identified. Performance was better than expected and the exhaust sound was amazing.

Fantastic Carrera 911
I bought this car used with 400 miles the fit and finish is of course impeccable. There is a significant amount road noise that enters through the thin convertible top at the rear quarters. The performance and handling are exquisite. Punch the accelerator and expect to get thrown back in your seat as the car quickly approaches breathtaking speeds. Porsche changed over to an electronic shifter which disappoints as it amounts to what is best termed a “tickle button”. Still the instrumentation has been uncluttered by wonderful technology proving better ease of operation. If you’re in the market for a invertirle performance roadster look no further.

Gray Bullet
I love this car! It's my 5th 911-S and if I can talk my wife into it, will go for 6! The only thing that is a challenge on this car is the cost of service. Just had a $360.00 oil change. But then again, if you can't afford a $360 oil change you shouldn't be driving a 911-S!
Don’t wait
I bought the Carerra S just to get the manual. Supply is very tight so order now and prepare to wait. I only waited 5 months for mine. If you’ve wanted one, go for it.

After 40 000 miles and 5 years , the door inside panels needs to be replaced because of the heat in Miami, this car has always been parked in the shade : cost $ 5200.00,! BAD QUALITY , similar issue with the soft top $ 8200.00!
All you could want.
The 2020 911 Carrera S is an outstanding high performance quality grand touring car. Edgy enough for track days or long distance driving trips. With the current bad weather we haven’t got the 911 out much at all. But it is a beauty to behold, even in the garage!!!!

Most fun in a car since high school
I've had 3 911's, starting in 1968. Each one is better than the previous one. Faster, handles better, great to look at, easy to drive, lasts a long time. They have always been my everyday driver. This 2021 911S is so fun, it seems illegal. Plenty of power, brakes strong and straight, corners with the best of them, just a blast to drive. Expensive, yes. However this will last me 15 years easily. YOLO, go for it if you can.

Paul’s toy
I recently purchased a new 2022 911 Carrara 4s cabriolet and I couldn’t be happier. I was looking at a new corvette first but I couldn’t get a delivery date on it, so I bought the Porsche and sooo happy I did. I will own a Porsche until the day I die then my grandson will get it
2022 Posche 911 Carrera S is simply phenomenal
I’ve owned everything from an Aston Martin Vantage, GT500 and even a Ferrari 458 Italia …. If I had to pick only ONE car… it’s the 911. Build quality is excellent, performance is outstanding and the pure enjoyment of driving is amazing. I purchased the S model with the Heritage Design interior. The only downside is the corduroy seats can be more difficult to clean. 0-60 in the car is amazingly fast. Braking and feedback through the steering wheel is outstanding. Visibility out of the car is top notch too. It literally is THE best car I’ve ever owned bar none.

Have had base cars 964,997s, 991.2 and 23 992...all but one a base car except for one exception. As a daily the base car is all i want/need 90% of the time. However, there is about once every few weeks that it had a few more hps on the top ens. Other than that, the base has better low end response and the ride ,noise and comfort are enjoyed. Sam

There are sports cars...and then there is the 911
My 992.1 C2S cabriolet is simply an experience unto itself. This is my first Porsche, after owning a Mustang, a Corvette, two Audi TTs, and an Audi RS5 coupe. None of these equal the experience of driving a 911. As others have described, the handing and road hugging, the acceleration, the steering feel, the powerful brakes, the sound of the flat six boxer, the amazing 8-speed PDK transmission, the adaptive suspension and torque-vectoring sport differential all combine to make the 911 the gold standard sports car on a mountain road or a track, but just also fine for a trip to the grocery store (you like being in this car so much that you will take everywhere and even just sit in it in the garage!). Storage space isn't that bad for a sports car. The frunk can hold two full size rollaboards and the back seats can take more. I find the mixed use of well engineered toggle buttons, touch screen, and the presence of a small but still very useful rotary dial for also navigating the screen to work very well. The small gear selector on the center console gets a lot of criticism, but it actually is ergonomically quite good. It is positioned just right, does not hinder access to the HVAC controls in front of it, and is made of the same quality materials and has the same nice tactile feel as the toggle switches. You only use it to switch between D, N and R or to quickly flick it to go from manual mode to drive mode. Gear shifting is done with the paddles, so you don't need a big gear lever in the center of the car. The design of the convertible top is pure genius. It has magnesium alloy plates in each of the three sections giving it great strength, sound deadening, and this helps maintanin the classic curvature when up that thee coupe is known for, and it and goes up and down in 12 seconds. The wind proofing is amazing, The 992.1 models introduced an integrated, electric windscreen that is very effective and convenient to use. I have had this car for over 1 year now and it has been completely reliable. I agree that a C2S is an excellent choice for the majority of buyers, but having read the initial very enthusiastic reviews of the innovative 992.2 GTS, I now have an allocation for a 2025 C4S GTS t-hybrid cabriolet. I will miss my current car, but am excited about the significant advances that the new GTS will bring.
