Only way to go
My job is seling cars on-line. When it came to buying my next car, I did the research. Checked out all the 30K-40K SUV's available. When the research was over, the 2003 Pathfinder won hands down.
Our 03 Pathfinder
We've had our 2003 Pathfinder 2 months now and we love it! It drives and rides like a dream. Very smooth. Handles well.

My Pathfinder
Overall it's been a good driving experience. I noticed that the vehicle is not so smooth on the road though, you feel every little bump.
Best Value in it's class
Great handling, acceleration, and ride. Fold down rear seats are great as well as the DVD entertainment system. Very limited road noise. Overall a great car
PRETTY DAMN CLOSE TP PERFECT
WELL, I DROVE A LOWERED, 2 DOOR INTEGRA FOR 5 YEARS, THEN I DECIDED TO GET SOMETHING A LITTLE BIGGER. IM STILL TRYING TO GET USED TO ALL THE ROOM. ITS GOT THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF ROOM FOR A MONSTEROUS SYSTEM IN THE TRUNK, AND THATS WHAT MINES GONNA HAVE!!!! AND I HAVE HAULED ABOUT A 1600 LB LOAD NO PROBLEM, EVEN IN 2WHEEL DRIVE!
ok
very rough suspension...almost like driving a sports car...good acceleration but poor suspension...very bumpy.
Glad I Bought It
I grew up with Jeeps, and still love them, but I have been extremely impressed with my new Pathfinder. I bought it almost on a whim (I had been looking at sedans), but I test drove one on a Saturday, and bought it on Tuesday. It has been great in the 30+ inches of snow we've had in D.C. since I bought it, and the heated seats have been great.
beats them all!
the edmunds research was dead on. we test drove all the mid-size suv's on the market. this one beats them all in design, quality, ride, sound system, braking, acceleration, reliability, comfort - you name it. don't bother with anything else. this is a truck you will be able to drive for a long long time.
I HAVE A P-FINDER
im from canada montreal just got a p- finder 2003 full equiped the LE sivlver and i love it litle expensive but worthed 45,000$ plus taxes this is canadian money. if ure looking 4 one trust me get it you wont go wrong at all .
Great Car
I just recently purchased a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder. Its a great car, very lush and luxurious interior. The only problem is its a little light on headroom. Even me at 6'0 just barely fits in the drivers seat. But other than that great car and it looks awesome!
the swiss army knife of the road
I just got my truck a week and a half ago, I love it! I went from a Mustang GT to this, and I am not longing for more peformance. This SUV is very comfortable to sit in and drive. It has already proven its worth in some wintery weather. i look forward to having it in the family for a very long time!
Solid Truck!
No major complaints, this is a very solid truck, superior build quality for its class and even for luxury SUV'S. Excellent power...was looking into a V8 Explorer or a V8 Grand Cherokee, but went with the Pathfinder because it felt just as powerful. I wish I boought the LE.
2002 Pathfinder LE
The pathfinder is well built and fun to drive. I like the attention to detail including self adjusting seats and automatic headlights. The pathfinder replaced a 2000 Ford Explorer... no comparison, the Pathfinder is a far superior vehicle.
So far pretty good
This is vehicle steeped in its own tradition, one that has ebbed and flowed stylistically and mechanically with the various SUV trends. Simply put, it is a very well-built, reliable vehicle that has had a few sputters along the way - in 03-04 it was a bit of an identity crisis, with two main flaws: poor fuel economy and bad rear seating. However, it makes up for it with excellence in other areas. Recently I passed a semi-truck on a snowy road at 120km/hr, something I just wouldn't do with every vehicle - it's got plenty of zip, traction, overall quality. Just think twice about how much that back-seat is used by adult passengers, and be willing to pay 20% more for gas than a car.
I LOVE IT!!
I am actually in love with my pathfinder. It's reliability and style are second to none.
KING
Excellent SUV. Beats competition hands down.
Great Vehicle
This is a great vehicle that is hampered by some annoying flaws. It's powerful engine and rugged off road capability make it fun to drive. Highway driving is decent and the gas mileage is about as good as one would expect. The exterior styling of this model is perfect and it's a shame that the newer models changed this. The interior is spacious and relatively comfortable. My two main complaints are the stock tires and the in-dash stereo. The tires offer terrible traction particularly in poor weather conditions and need to be replaced. The CD player is useless and was obviously made with a cheap laser which constantly skips.
Almost 1 year and 7500 miles later...
I'm still enjoying my ride like I did when I purchased it. Leather interior is great. Real wood would be great but the plastic wood still warms up the interior. Put some quality floor mats in and a cargo mat, you're ready to go. I put on the front brush and rear taillight guards and it LOOKS a bit more rugged. I wouldn't count on them for protection. The new 17" rims are a good improvement but are really easy to scratch on the curb. People complain about the rear seat, but I'm driving so I don't care, and my passengers never complain. I also like the styling inside and out, even if it is a bit dated on the outside. Still a good-looking vehicle.
if your 5'9" or taller, dont buy it
this suv is way to small, im 5 8 and its to small for me, forget about the back seats, your lucky if you get 2 small adults back there, and cargo space,,,,what cargo space????
Best in Show
This is by far the best mid-size SUV on the market. I drove them all, and the Pathfinder has the most bang for the buck, great acceleration, and decent towing capabilities. The back seat could offer a bit more room, but it will be fine for 2 full size adults.
pathfinder
great all around use suv
Great SUV
This is my 4'th SUV and By far my favorite. Driven a 4runner, wrangler, and 2 Grand Cherokees and none of these even comes close to how much I enjoy driving this Pathfinder. Just wish that I had test drove one sooner. Also able to knock $4800.00 off of the sticker.
Please Read
The sound system in this vehicle is one of the worst I've ever heard. I had a better one in my 1972 Pontiac!!!
Great vehicle with few errors
I only own nissans and I judge them all and follow the improvements as they develop. I normally buy a nissan about every three years and have owned nissan trucks, sentras, altimas, maximas and pathfinders. Nissan, I can say is a corpration that is for the consumer and puts its best foot froward to please it's buyers.
Great Mid-Size SUV
The 2003 Pathfinder LE has the BEST styling of any PF ever built.( Now Nissan is going to change it!) It is also a safe vehicle since you are surrounded by air bags and side curtains. Good visibility. Drivetrain (2wd)offers power and reasonable mpg. The PF feels car-like in a parking-lot. An enjoyable vehicle to drive!
Great SUV that drives like a car
This SUV has it all a great interior and enough power to statisfy all.
Personal
This vehicle has met all of my expectations as to design, functionality, dependability, and value.
Excellent Value - Quality Rig
Looked at 4-Runner and Liberty - Pathfinder was hands down winner for VALUE. Engine is VERY peppy - rig really moves for a 4400 lb vehicle. Have thus far driven on numerous bumpy dirt roads. I have not heard one single pop, rattle, or vibration. Rig is very solid and tight! Surprisingly quiet on highway.
primus
Excellent vehicle, good looks and handling very reliable
best vehicle ever
I drove it 37 hours straight on the first trip and couldn't find a thing to complain about.
Smooth ride, but could use more room
I will say that this SUV has a great car like ride. Better MPG than my previous Grand Cherokee. Not as roomy as the Grand Cherokee though, and not enough interior storage compartments for misc. things.
asdasd
Excellent value, fun to drive, lots of room, better than expected on gas, nice styling, smooth ride, excellent brakes
Made to Ride
I think Nissan Pathfinder 2001 is a great improvement. It has great horse- power, great torque, very good road handling, decent mileage, very cool pick up and its really made to ride. It all depends upon the drivers, depends upon how you take care of your car, how do you really treat your car and there are a lot of other factors which can take loads of problem in the vehicle. Me and My friend bought the same car - Nissan Pathfinder 2001 - all we could see was 240 horse power and great pick- up. I love driving it and I would and I have recommended so many people to buy NISSAN PATHFINDER cuz it ROCKS!!!
A very good truck
I looked at all of the midsize SUVs. This combined reliability, comfort and price. I have owned it a month and I am not dissappointed. The ride is much better than described in consumer report. The build quality is excellent.
nissan pathfinder 2003
great SUV very safe
Comfort Zone
The truck is great. The only thing I really would complain about is the gas mileage, but its an SUV, I knew what I was getting into as far as fuel consumption when I looked into them. Its a quality machine and I enjoy driving it.
My beautiful Nissan
I had done alot of research before purchasing my 2003 LE and all signs pointed to it being the best SUV in it's class. After one test drive I was hooked. The interior is extremely classy w/ heated leather seats, 6 disc in dash cd player and climate control. The audio controls on the driver steering wheel are extremely appreciated. It also has reclining back seats which will have all my friends wanting to take long trips in my car. The pickup on this vehicle is amazing. It handles bumpy roads and turns with graceful ease. Outside noise is also very limited.
Power o'Plenty
Fun to drive and practical at the same time. Best bang for your money. If you are looking for a status symbol get an X5. If you are looking for something economical, practical and still fun to drive. I love mine.
Pathfinder: A Great Find
The best car we have owned (and the most expensive) very comfortable, and fun to drive. Really love it but wish we had 4wd (just in case. Also the engine is awesome, great acceleration.
Wicked Awesome
Wow. That's all I can say. I just purchased this truck, used, from a private seller and I have been in love ever since. The interior is plush, but not gaudy; it is simple, easy on the eyes and consistent with the truck's exterior look. Leather seats are very comfortable. The exterior possesses all the characterisitcs commonly sought after by the superficial man -- it looks very cool. But the best part about the truck, and the reason why I would buy it again even if it didn't have all this other stuff, is that it is so much fun to drive. It feels like you are coasting on air; the engine is strong and quick. It accelerates quickly and brakes the same. It is a blast.
The Best Yet
I drove the Pilot,4runner,Envoy and the pathfinder- the interior of the pilot was wider and the price was a bit less but the inside was plain and didnt ofer as many features as the pathfinder- the 4 runner was too expensive. The interior ROCKS compared to the rest- I love being able to control my stereo from the steering wheel! Heated seats are the best,The stereo is good compared to most factory radios(6 dash cd ) The leather seats are comfy, Sunroof is a nice option to have included (Not an option on the honda pilot) The ride is quiet, Gas mileage Stinks.
Best SUV on the Market!!!!!
The Best and Safest Suv on the market!!!!!!! The day after Christmas (2002)I dropped my wife off at work and a tree broke in half totaling my Pathfinder (remember I am in it!)I was able to walk away from from my crushed Pathfinder. Needless to say, I went out and bought a brand new 2003 Pathfinder. Just Love the Nissan Products!!!!
Best Bang for the Buck
My wife and I drove every available SUV, large and small, and the Pathfinder was, by far, the best value for the dollar. Our LE was fully loaded and was only $32k. That's a steal when compared to every other SUV on the market. Plus, it has good acceleration for a 5000lb SUV with a V6 and its tight steering makes getting around Washington and Baltimore a breeze. By far the best SUV available today with all things considered.
2003 LE 4x4 Pathfinder
I love the interior compared to the other SUVS I looked at- Every extra Accesory is on this SUV. I love the interior, the drive, the Color(crystal Blue Metallic) The Stereo is awesome, the heated seats are wonderful. I love the stereo knobs on the steering wheel! Its peppy and drives like a car- Its easy to get into and out of. I also like the reclining back seats.
Roof Rack Whistles
The roof rack whistles at around 30-40 miles per hour and apparently there is no cure for it.
Great family car for a great price.
We looked at _all_ of the SUVs. Compared looks, features, MPG, size, price, maneuverability and availability. Pathfinder beat out Envoy, Explorer, Grand Cherokee, Durango and Pilot as it had best mix of all of our criteria. Now that we've driven the truck for a week, we are not disappointed.
An excellent choice!
I totally disagree with the review written by the other customer on this page. I found the dealer to be very responsible and accommodating... the quality of the Nissan Pathfinder (and a previously owned Nissan Maxima) is what makes me coming back for more! I love the interior quality, performance, reliability, style and more. My next vehicle will be either a Pathfinder or a Maxima!
Pathfinder
This is a great truck. Its offroad abilities are very good and performance is also very good. The comfort and styling is also great. No problems with this truck at all.
Pathfinder SE 4WD 2003
has the best combination of luxury & sport for the price. there is no comparison with my prior 2 ford explorers.
Not Bad!!
This SUV has it all and is great for anyone looking for a midsize vehicle. Alot of thought went into this SUV. This was the first vehicle that I bought in a long time that had no defects of any kind. While I don't drive it everyday, it is fun when I do drive it. The only gripe is that the running boards are not wide enough. Thank You, John
