Great Stereo, great Engine
Very fun recreational vehicle. Six disc stereo rocks, better than a lot of folks have at home. Roof rack accepts Yakima conversions that make boat carrying, etc. quite easy. Has a tendency to break loose on wet roads, hard turns. Think its the potent engine-you just have to stay off of it a little on slick roads.
what a blast!
Bought a superblack se 4wd w/options: s94, l92, f95 & go5. Paid $210 over CR wholesale price, $1200 under invoice. Took the $1k cash back. Test-drove the envoy, trailblazer, 4 runner, montero... Envoy nice if you like driving a couch, trailblazer piece of @#*!. the rest were nice. If you want performance buy a pathfinder. Torque you got it! Pounces off the line. DOHC v-6 can definitely get it out of its own way. Engine braking great. Rides nice (its a suv, its going to lean a little bit in a turn, buy a porsche if you want handling). i'm 6'5" 280 and i fit nice. do yourself a favor and test drive them all and make your choice. i did and picked the pathfinder - what a blast!

LOVE MY CHOICE!
If you're looking for the best SUV under 30K, this is DEFINITELY the car. Leading engine in it's class, rugged yet stylish looks, roomy interior, EXCELLENT VALUE for the price, easy AND LOTS OF FUN to drive. Hybrid on-road/off-road claim is justified. Feels like a sedan on the highway/can handle almost anything you give it off-road as well. 4Runner and Cherokee don't match it overall
Best Midsize SUV
Love this SUV. It handles great on the road, as nimble and stable as it gets for an SUV. Great power, gets off the line very nicely. Very fun to drive. Trade-off for the stability and agility is a harsh ride (especially for backseat riders). Bumps are very hard and abrupt with 5 ppl. Even though it's a 2WD I have taken it offroad and it has handled everything I've thrown at it. Average 16-17 mpg mixed (majority city). Zero problems.
Love this car
Tough to sell or trade in. Been such a loyal car over the past 7-8 yrs.

I DIDN'T FIT (DID NOT BUY)
I DID ALL MY HOMEWORK. CONSUMERS REPORT,EDMUNDS.COM. I WENT TO PURCHASE A LE. ALTHOUGH I DO NOT LIKE LEATHER , THE LE HAD IT SO I COULD GET POWER SEATS.IT ALSO HAD A SUN ROOF (A MUST HAVE). IM 6'4" AND 195 LBS. THERE WAS NO ROOM! MY HEAD TOUCHED THE ROOF & MY LEGS WERE CRAMPED UP UNDER THE STEERING WEEL WITH NO ROOM ON EITHER SIDE.
FYI
Drove the SE last after checking out the Trailblazer,Explorer and Grand Cherokee Laredo. If you are looking for the most car-like ride, which we were, then head straight for your nearest Nissan Dealer. We bought the vehicle right off the lot,SE popular pkg w/auto trans.,body side moulding and floormats for $200.00 over invoice.Take the rebate and 5.9% APR instead of no rebate and 3.9 APR,you will save about $8.00/mo for 48 months.Dealership was great...no hassles or aggrivation.
Sweet Ride!
I bought this pathfinder for my wife. She had never seen it or driven it. I fell in love with it when I took for a test drive. So she trusted me and now I'll never get to drive it again! She loves it. It's powerful, comfortable, stable. It's very luxurious inside and looks tuff on the outside. The front seats are very soft and comfortable. Great driver comfort when it comes to radio controls on the steering wheel and everything is easy to reach on the dash. Love the Bose stereo and the sun roof. Very good buy for the money.
nice, but not as good as a trail blazer
I bought my son a pathfinder a few months ago, because he was set on it, and would not even look at anything else. It is a nice suv, and i like what they have done with the engine, but it does not measure up to trail blazer i bought for me. i have not ever been a chevy fan, but the TB runs circles around his pathfinder. it has more power, room, stnd. features, better build quality, rear a/c, and costs less. i would recommend test driving both before deciding.
More than I expected
I originally wanted an SE with leather, sunroof, and CD...but my wife wanted the entertainment package for the kids...so I asked the dealer to locate a truck for me...He had in stock the LE with all the extras I wanted, and the navigation system, which I did not want. I researched all the internet sites, including Edmunds and arrived at an invoice price of just over $34,700. I started the negotating of the truck at $32,600.00, because I didn't want the navigation in the truck so I decided split the cost with him on the navigation, because you don't get something for nothing and it was already there. I picked up the truck for $32,200.00
Good SUV, Bad Gas Mileage
I just purchase this car. I was crazy about the car aloaded with everything and the prices i got $19,000 with only 28 k on it. The only bad thing about this car, it drinks lots of gas. I know the newer nissans consume less gas.
4x4 heaven
2002 pathfinder SE is untouchable in most ways. Power, stability, styling, quality, ride comfort and did I mention power. However, every time I stomp on the accelerator pedal I see the needle on the gas gage drop...oh well, nobody said heaven is perfect and the sacrifices are well worth it!
